I Gelsomini is a lovely, 4 bedroom farmhouse, conveniently situated only 5 km from the center of Lucca.

The house has been restored by the owners, both Italian architects, who used it until recently as their main home. They have successfully preserved the character of the old farmhouse with its antique cotto floors and beamed ceilings. A covered patio connects the main house to the huge sitting room (100 sq. meters) that has been made out of the original hayloft, whose structure has been maintained yet modernized with parquet floor, fireplace and large windows overlooking the pool.

As the property is less than 4 km from the neares...t motorway exit, it is a perfect base for exploring Tuscany, with Florence less than 50 minutes away, and Pisa and the beaches less than 20 minutes.

  We really enjoyed our stay at I Gelsomini. The owner greeted us when we arrived and the fresh tomatoes he provided from his garden were amazing! We really enjoyed relaxing by the pool and on the patio after long days of sightseeing and eating beautiful food from the local supermarket deli.
  Lucca is really close by and we drove to Lucca train station some days and caught trains to different towns rather than driving. You really do need a car as Guamo is not that close to many of the Tuscan towns that you hear and read about. You just have to be prepared to drive through the beautfiul Tuscan scenary. There is a restaurant just a little down the road which we went to a couple of times which is nice and popular with the locals.
  The house is on a hill up a steep driveway, the GPS tells you to turn right but you need to turn left and look up then you will see the house. We found that parking the car on a level halfway up the driveway made it easier to drive in and out rather than parking right up near the front door.
