Description from the manager
Characteristic apartment converted during the renovation of a 13th century Franciscan convent. The convent was very important from the 1400's onwards, when it became a training center of eminent members of the Franciscan order.
The spot is even tied to the miracle of Saint Francis (1229 a.d.) in which he freed a child who had been abducted by a wolf. The church and cloister, built from 1608 to 1634, are decorated with remarkable frescoes, including those about the miracle.
In 1723 the convent housed 25 monks and its library had an impressive 1572 volumes.
