Lummi Island is unique in its close proximity to the mainland and the fact that it is served by its own VEHICLE FERRY. The ferry makes it's 10 MINUTE CROSSING at least once an hour from 6 am to midnight each and every day.
You will enjoy the treasures of island life, as well as mainland exploration.
Day trips to the cities of Vancouver, BC, Canada or Seattle, WA are perfectly within reason, as is hiking Mt. Baker, Whale Watching and visiting some of the other San Juan Islands.

What I crave most about visiting Lummi Island is the utter silence at night. Living in a large city its like returning to the womb at night. Once youre at the Beachwood its a sanctuary all on its own. Except for the odd deer ambling through the well manicured (but not hotel - like) grounds there is only the movement of the trees and the weather coming on, evolving and moving off. I stayed here with my sister for a few nights in December for a sisters long weekend. The emphasis here is tranquilty. We read, we sat by that mammoth fireplace, ate, drank, read, slept, laughed, walked, read - we're planning a small reunion here in the summer of 2013 so wanted to get the feel of the place. There's a great deal of space for kids, a huge out door fire pit we'll make use of during that future holiday and everything you might need for indoor or outdoor meals for a small group. Cant wait for the summer now - where even the winter is beautiful.
