30 miles east of San Juan airport. Plenty of eco activities nearby with EL Yunque rainforest, the Fajardo Bioluminescent bay, and the Las Cabezas nature reserve, Also plenty of amenities including restaurants, groceries, pharmacy and other stores. Five Star luxury hotels in the area.

We had a great stay at this place. Luquillo beach is fantastic, especially the view we had from Steve's apt. Spent 1 month and we did not miss anything at all. Staff at the Condo was very kind and helpful. Everything clean and safe. We will definitely come back!

We arrived at Playa azul and met up with Lucy, Steve's property manager. She gave us the tour. The indoor space of the apartment is sufficient, although a little dated, but does have all that someone would need for a weeks vacation. The condo is centrally located to many activities. It's about a 20 minute drive to Fajardo, 20 minutes to El Yunque, and a grocery right across ruta 3 from the condo. The view of the sea and the beach from the balcony is abolutely breathtaking. The view from the catwalk to the front door of the Luquillo mountains is amazing. The beach is very nice although the water was very rough. If you walk about 20 minutes on the beach West, you come to Balnearios(Luquillo Beach) which has chair rentals and true Puerto Rican street food. The water is very calm here and nice for anyone just wanting a relaxing day at the beach. Also on the "street side" as you exit Balnearios are the famous Luquillo kiosks, which serve up some very good food with a lot of choices. There are also some inexpensive souvenir shops within the kiosks...
For first timers to Puerto Rico and to the Luquillo area, it was a great place and Playa azul condominios was a great home base.

The stay was great. You are right on the beach. The condo was nice and clean and the view was amazing. Ocean on the patio, El Yunque out the front!
Great for a solo adventurer or two.
Only complaint I had was If you want to go to the beach after 7, you have to walk all the way around to front. -

From Lucy, the property manager to Lot attendants and front desk guards,neighbors. All very nice and helpful. Home was nice with all amenities needed.Location was great downstairs to beach, walk 20 or 30 minutes left along beach to Baleneario(nice calm beach w/ food kiosks or walk right to "La Pared" surfers beach and further to turtle reserve.(I don't suggest swimming here, as surf and undertow currents are very strong and un-forgiving.) This is personal experience! Also 20 minute drive and you can be in the heart of "El Yunque" rain forest. Food and shopping across street. Next town south Fajardo has ferries going to beautiful offshore islands of Culebra and Vieque's.

My daughter and I had a very nice time in Luquillo. Mr abbey was very easy to work with on renting his condo.The condo was as pictured and the beach frontage was beautiful. Nicely kept,clean and comfortable for 2. The property manager Lucy was wonderful as was the staff at the condo. The location was great for closeness to the Rainforest and getting the ferry to the islands(which I recommend as a must while here).We rented a car and traveled the eastern side of the island.I have to say the people were very nice and helpful when I asked for directions during our travels.If you are looking for a nice quiet area I would recommend you contact Mr abbey about his rental.
