Additional Location Information
Due to the beach location it is extremely private and thus lends itself for hours of relaxation, sun bathing and 'ponding' in the ocean. The sun rises beautifully each day and is clearly visible. Enjoying a sunset drink on the roof terrace overlooking the Jungle as the sun sets is spectacular. Eating a local fresh catch of the day bought at the nearby town restaurants is a must do for fish lovers. Boogie boarding, after a 3 minute walk over the beach to the bay is something that is always exciting. Driving the Fajardo (15 minute drive) and going on a night canoe trip to the fluorescent bay is something unique and extremely recommendable. A snorkeling trip with the sailing catamarans from one of the close by marinas is another attraction that can not be skipped. A trip to the jungle and a walk to the 'La Mina' waterfalls is a must do. For golfers there are a multitude of Golf courses around (we can set it up through Caribe Golf).
Beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrella and cooler are ready for your for your next beach vacation in our favorite vacation spot, our Luquillo heaven!

New HampshireGreat way to experience Puerto Rico for the first time
Left on 02/01/2013 for a stay in January 2013
This was the first time myself and my friend with whom I was traveling had used a vacation rental and we were so glad that it was a great first experience!
We stayed on a Thursday-Monday; Thursday, Friday and Monday we were the only people in the entire condominium community. This was great because we had the entire beach to ourselves! The beach directly accessible from the condo is beautiful and quiet, but just a short walk down the beach is the larger Luquillo beach, which was also incredibly quiet during our stay (as a resident of a beach town that is overrun with tourists during the summer, I have to say that this was an incredible treat!).
Highlights of our trip were being just a few minutes from a marina (from which we chartered a sail boat for a day of sailing and snorkeling) and a few minutes from El Yunque National Forest (not to mention the gorgeous view of the rainforest from the condo itself!).
Our experience with the owner and her mother, who was there to check us in, was great and left us feeling very comfortable. Ilia was very responsive leading up to our stay and during our stay, when we had some trouble with the hot water in one of the bathrooms.
We would recommend this to anyone who is visiting Puerto Rico for the first time; it's only 45 min from San Juan and very easy to get to if you're driving yourself. It is also only a few minutes away from Fajardo, from which you can take a ferry to islands Vieques or Culebra. The only thing I would caution is that it is on the 3rd floor, so I would not recommed it to anyone with mobility issues. -

Bryant, ArkansasBeautiful home, nicely located...:)

Mrs. Van der Vaart responded quickly to our inquiry, due to it being two weeks out from our vacation plans. She is very pleasant.
The home is nicely located in a favorable area close to many favorite spots in Puerto Rico, without being piled on top hundreds of other tourist. quick drive to Fajardo where you can catch the ferry to Culebra or Vieques(highly recommend). The fainforest is at your back door (very close by). Short 45 minute drive from San Juan airport and Old San Juan. Brass Cactus is a few blocks, it's a wonderful american style pub and eatery.
The home is situated in a small gated community so it's not overwhelming. it had a private beach, there was a gate that the tenants had a key to for the beach, during this stay we usually had to beach to ourselves or just one other family. It is very secure, there is a guard at all times at the gate. The view from the roof top is amazing! The condo is very spacious and nicely decorated with modern furnishings :).
The reason we gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because unfortunately we found the kitchen wasn't clean, the floors were dirty and we had no hot water for days due to the breaker being off and we didn't realize because it was in Spanish and had an X beside it so we didn't touch it, we waited to talk to Ilia. I wrote Ilia right away regarding the conditions and she was as shocked as we were and very helpful in compensating us for the cleaning fee.
We would definitely stay here again. :) -

CT, USAAmazing Puerto Rico family vacation
Left on 08/09/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We have spent amazing week in april, staying in Illia's condo. Condo is spacious and well maintained. Ocean is just behind the gates. To be able to swim you need to walk ~3 min to the right towards Playa azul towers. The beach and the condominium were deserted (just one other guest family in the complex besides us) up till pre-Easter week, after that the area was quite busy, beach was crowded after noon, but still quiet in the morning.
Overall, very pleasant experience, looking forward to go there again.
I recommend this place if you prefer to stay in Luquillo area away from San Juan/Isla Verde busy life.

Philadelphia, PABeautifully Perfect Location with Honest Easy to Work with Owner
Left on 08/01/2011 for a stay in June 2011
My family of 4 (2 sons age 24 & 20) stayed at this location from 6/23/11-7/02/11. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit which was made more enjoyable by the owners professional decorum and the pristine location of the small condo complex. During out stay, the island was celebrating San Juan day which drew many revelers to the beach, day and night, for the extended weekend holiday. Despite being able to see the revelers from our condo from the glorious roof top terrace, incredibly, we did not hear a sound. The town of Luquillo is a lovely laid back resort town with incredibly welcoming kind people. The police presence was large and kept things in order, however, I dont think the revelers needed much encouragement. The public beach is about 1 mile down the road which was preferable for our tastes. The water is like a lagoon with no waves. We were the only ones in the condo complex in our building until our last night's stay. There is a guard on duty 24/7 - security is not an issue. However, the town is very secure. There is a private beach access in front of the condo which typically was secluded most of our stay. El Yunque, Fajardo Marina (for snorkeling adventures), Culebra and Vieques ferry is w/in a 2-5 mile ride east. The kiocos were less than a mile from the complex. If you had too much to drink, the complex is within walking distance. Getting to Luquillo from San Juan is about a 45 minute ride down route 26 to route 66 then a left onto route 3 to Luquillo. There are several restaurants to choose from as well as a grocery store for those on a budget. We thoroughly enjoyed and utilized the grill on the roof terrace for just that. Plenty of towels, washing machine/dryer, front patio, king bed and 2 single beds in the rooms. Ilia was a wonderful host who worked with our dates despite having prior plans. She also made the effort to call me when she was refunding our security deposit when my paypal account (my fault) rejected her charge back.

Chicago, ILOur Favorite Vacation Spot
Left on 07/31/2011 for a stay in December 2010
We have been visiting this vacation rental for the past 3 years! We love it here! This vacation rental is perfect for a small family who is looking to get away for a relaxing week at the beach. We started bringing our daughter here at 8 months old. She is now 4 years old and loves it just as much as we do! The rental has a gorgeous covered balcony perfect for eating meals on or relaxing after the sun goes down! The beach is quiet and clean. The water is clear and warm. We usually spend most of our days on the beach! The rainforest (El Yunque) is just a 10 minute drive away and the famous Luquillo beach kiosks are 30 minute walk down the beach! The rental is very clean and comes with everything you need for a vacation at the beach. The kitchen has everything you need to cook your meals, and the bedrooms are very comfortable! Overall, this is our favorite vacation spot and come year after year!
