This is a great place to stay, Friendly people - Linda and Eid who will do all that they can to make your stay as happy and comfortable as possible.
The villa is the most comfortable accommodation and the accommodations are fully equipped with all that one needs. The roof terrace and the ground level swimming pool complete the expectations of those who need to get some sun and cool off.
a neighbour is a taxi owner and he is available to drive the short distances into Luxor centre at low cost. Alternatively the walk into Luxor central area only 20 minutes or so and isn't a challenge.
Take a faluka trip on the Nile with Eid who also has a motorised boat - great value!

What a fantastic place--the apartment was beautiful--it was so large and nicely appointed! Linda was a great host who tried to make my stay as nice as possible--she treated me as a family friend rather than a paying guest. I loved the pool and the way it was available whenever I wanted to swim after a day of touring. It was lovely, as well. We were close enough to town to get there easily but far enough away that it was mostly quiet (wedding parties can't be helped!). Good food and restaurants were also easy to get to. I can't recommend this place highly enough. I want to come back with my family! The bed was comfortable, the wifi fast, the balconies lovely places to sit for breakfast, reading, lunch, dawn, dust.

Linda and Eid are great hosts, and the convenience of having a next door neighbor who is a driver if you need pick up or transport anywhere is a definite plus. The apartment is spotless and unbelievably well stocked. Our family of five was very comfortable and we enjoyed hanging out on the roof deck a bit too.
We were even invited to join Linda and Eid for Eid's 50th birthday party. Pizza and quiche and cake. Linda makes you feel like you are visting an aunt or cousin; she is so friendly and really a wonderful host.
The only "downside" is that there is a mosque pretty close with speakers pointed toward the apartment. My wife and I heard the morning call to prayers (5:30 a.m.), but the kids slept right through it. But this is true througout Egypt and really part of the whole experience.
Luxor and Egypt really need tourists! We felt incredibly safe in our two weeks in Egypt traveling on our own, Cairo, Luxor (via overnight train), Aswan, Abu Simbel, Giza. Very friendly country, great people, wonderful value.Response from LINDA CLYMO - 04/27/2013

My family and Stayed for three nights at the Villa, and had a wonderful time. The host family lives on the ground floor and are very hospitable and helpful. They helped us find a driver to get around town, suggested restaurants, gave directions to the Market, etc. It was a very relaxing atmosphere with a nice roof set up with a shower and sun bathing mats. A Pack N' Play fit through the doors, so we could move the beds around at night. Three adults and two children, and we had plenty of room. Highly recommend a Felluca ride down the nile, ask Linda about it. Great visit, we hope to stay at the Villa again.

Everything is perfect : the flats are sparkling clean,its a quiet place where we're safe, Linda is present everytime to answer if we need something.The furniture is nice in each room.Its easy to cook like at home. We can like the swimmingpool and the many balconies. For me its the first time i feel really well in Louxor since 13 years. Now i know that i dont want something else i want keep this place for ever.

Just back from our latest visit to the wonderful villa lostris and looking forward to the next already. As soon as you step through the front door you know you have arrived somewhere truly special. The facilities at the villa are superb but it is the unique blend of hospitality and friendliness that really set this place apart. Nothing is too much trouble for Linda and Eid. Their attention to detail and genuine concern that you have the time of your life is little short of amazing. Book it - you won't regret it.

After many years and many apartments and villas I have finally found somewhere that has it all, great location, beautifuuly decorated and furnished, really clean, many extras such as DVD player and fans and air con. Comfortable beds and pillows etc.. where do I stop ???

hank you very much to Linda and Eid for helping us spend a great holiday. Villa Lostris is very pretty with its swimming pool and the kindness of Linda prepares tea and cakes. She also booked the taxi Sayed who picked us up at the airport and escorted to the end of your stay. The room was cleaned every 2 days which is more than satisfactory. In short, a pleasant stay in a villa which is situated outside the center of Luxor which allows you to enjoy a pleasant balconies. I recommend this villa with its beautiful apartments. friendly people, nothing is too much trouble. beds changed and rooms cleaned very frequently. (seemed like every day, actually!) lovely rooms, each with at least three balconies each, roof is arranged for sitting in the sun, tea, coffee and sugar supplied at no extra charge. location is out of town, so local shops are fairly sparce, but good for what there is. local coffee shop owned by some very nice people (Hassan makes you particularly welcome there) bit of a trek to the pubs and restaurants in Luxor, but I personally liked the walk, although there are plenty of taxis and buses available to take you.
There is nothing in particular that I liked the best, I just loved all of it. The only downside was slow internet, but that's not Linda's fault, that's just Egypt!! If you want a friendly pub for drinks and/or food, then I highly recommend the kings head, opposite the Isis hotel. all in all, probably one of the best holidays I've ever had.Response from LINDA CLYMO - 01/05/2013

The service was absolutely superb everything we required was in the flat we did not need to ask for anything.
The apartment itself was great, furnished to a very high standard and very comfortable, the swimming pool was a pleasure very clean and just the right temperature.
If required the owner can organise any trips you wish to make eg West Bank, Museums, etc.
Our entire holiday was perfect even as far as having lots of books to read and Dvds to watch if you just wanted to relax and rest from looking at all the temples and tombs in the area which are superb

We were picked up by Saeed at the airport who was charming as always. We were welcomed by Linda, Eid and the family not forgetting the cats. The rooms were cleaned to a high standard better than some 5 star hotels.
The best thing about staying with Linda is its a home away from home, the kitchen is fully equipped, clean towels and bedding. The pool was great to cool off during the heat of the day and its private. Staying in the village you experience the real Luxor. The hotels, coffee, shops,and the Nile are only a short walk.
The pool is a good size and no restriction like the hotels you can swim when you like. My daughter learned to swim without her armbands in the pool the girls enjoyed themselves.

Luxor city pulsates around the clock - it's full of magic, mystery and magnificent monuments; with an exciting array of souks to explore. However, I am reporting back with the latest travel article - Villa Lostris Holiday apartments in Luxor is a must it is a very fine place to stay, infact it's a jaw-dropping apartment. I was transported through time from staying at a grotty hotel in the centre of Luxor, rescued by Linda and Eid (I had previously met Linda on the aeroplane coming over from London to Luxor). If there's one thing I've learned from years of travelling, it always pays to really know where you're going and Villa Lostris was truly an unforgettable experience.

this was our 6th year going to luxor , we always stayed in the same hotel , so just for a change we decided to try the experience of renting an apartment in luxor , to be fair we didnt know where in luxor we were going or what it was going to be like . In honest shock and suprise i loved the look of this apartment from the moment we pulled up outside it , within 10 minutes of getting inside the apartment we had settled in straight away , linda is amazing person and will go out of her way for u , nothing is to much , her apartments are spotless and everything u could need and more is at ur disposal , all i can say is if anyone is reading this and ur thinkin of rentin in luxor , this is the place for u , the pool is brilliant such a relaxing atmospher and brilliant to swim in after a trip out in the heat , i loved this apartment so much we didnt want to come home , it was great to sit up in the roof terrace at night and watch everything goin on around you , we cant thank linda enough for lettin us rent this from her and with out a doubt we will be back here again , we felt plivlidged to meet linda and eid and their family , we will deffiently be meeting again ...love from debbie , paul and claire in belfast xxx

Although my husband and I have stayed in Luxor many times we decided to experience an apartment rather than a hotel given we were taking my elderly parents. We were not disappointed! Linda allocated us the 1st floor apartment given that Mum couldn't walk very far, it was roomy, very clean with all the luxery trappings of home. Everything that we wanted was provided beforehand, a well stocked fridge of essentials and even a mobile phone. Linda and Eid are perfect hosts, friendly, considerate, helpful with no request being too much trouble. You are made to feel part of the family. The villa is situated in semi rural Luxor, quiet and peaceful with a true Egyptian atmosphere, a wonderful place. We shall be back next year. Thank you Linda and Eid for making our holiday so special.

We stayed for 3 weeks. Our family comprises of mum, dad and teenage daughter.
There is nothing missing from this property. You can cook yourself a meal on the cooker. Working fridge. Fully functional kitchen.
The property is loaded with everything you would find at home including a front loader washing machine, so no need to take a million and one bits of clothing.
The tv, dvd, wi-fi, books and music will suit the most diserning traveller.
There is a wonderful pool, cleaned daily, private from any outside view.
The property is well represented by way of the owners photos, which appear on Trip advisor unedited in our opinion. You get what you see.
We particularly liked the kind welcome from owners Linda and Eid, who were quick to invite us to their own social gatherings.
We would highly reccommend this property without hesitation. We would deffinately consider another holiday at Villa Lostris, as such would be our first point of call.

We were lucky to travel to Egypt when there were very few tourists and Linda´s place was ideal place to stay. We had all the benefits of an apartment, without paying the price of staying in an expensive hotel room. Linda has thought of every detail, so if you think about anything you need it is already in the apartment. The apartment is well furnished, clean and comfortable and Linda even has a welcome food supply (bread, milk, fruit, eggs, yoghurt..) in the refrigerator for when you arrive. We also enjoyed the swimming pool and the terrace as extra benefits of staying there. Linda is also very helpful in recommending day trips and restaurants. We can´t imagine having been in a better place in Luxor and really hope we can return some day for a longer stay.

We get ther by our own car, Linda help us from the very begging of our trip, since we did the reservation, she always care about every single detail. Its wonderful to arrive to your destiny and feels like home, there was a lovely apartment clean and bright with a full fridge and a hot tub. Linda prepared a delicious brunch for all the guests, and also provide the feluca ride through the Nile.

We have stayed with Linda and Eid at Villa Lostris in Luxor twice and have absolutely loved it. The apartments are furnished and equipped to a very high standard. The rooms are cleaned and the bedding changed very frequently. The owners have become friends they are both so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. I loved the fact that we were staying in avillage location, but within easy walking distance to the amenities or to catch a bus at the end of the street.

It took some time to find flipkey, but we want to tell you that we had a great time at Villa Lostris. We, 12 friends with their kids,who had a reunion in Luxor.
The apparments have enough room, the beds are good and the fridge is filled with drinks and food. You can ask Linda and Eid everything and they arrange it. We hope to come back in Luxor!

Linda is fantastic to help you organize your trips and the apartments are clean and well equipped.
There are plenty of sightseeing tours possible in and around the town of Luxor.
You don't have to do your own shopping because Linda takes care of everything.

This was our first visit to villa Lostris,we read the reviews on Tripadvisor and booked for 5 weeks. It was the best thing we have ever done, we have been to Luxor before but stayed in hotels. This is far better than any hotel. We stayed with our 3 teenagers and a 5 year old. The apartment is cleaned every other day and is spotless, bedding is changed every 2-3 days and towels changed as and when you need them. The pool is a good size and was used every day by the children. The roof has wonderful views of the west bank and is great for sun bathing, if your up bright and early just before sunrise and wait a few mins the sunrise is fantastic, you can also see all the hot air balloons on the west side. The kitchen is well stocked, Sayeed the taxi diver will take you any where and is very helpful. Linda's and Eid's hospitality is just wonderful Linda is so helpful and will sort out anything you need. Both are very welcoming and so is Eid's family. We can't wait to book our stay again and see the family.

From being met at the airport to the end of my holiday i was thoroughly spoilt. The apartment was tastefully furnished including satalite T.V. & Wifi,there was a welcome pack with water & soft drinks which i requested & therefore i re-enbursed Linda.The beds were changed every 2nd day,the swimming pool as usual was lovely & heated on cooler evenings.Lots of things to see & do both on the East & West Bank of Luxor. All in all a very pleasent & memorable stay. Returning in September/October this year (2011)

i stayed with linda and eid for one whole month the villa was great the apartment was ever so clean and cleaned at least twice a week and more if wanted the pool and roof were excellent. They were warm and nothing was to much trouble if you needed for them to do any thing. They sorted trips out for me at good prices with no extra cost to me all in all would go back there which i am in august cant wait to stay there and see them again.ps nearlly forgot she also give you a mobile with her and taxi you can trust. The fridge has eggs and fruit etc all their ready for you who else do you no or have been does that great.

This was my second stay with Linda and Eid and both visits were very enjoyable and i hope to go again this year. The accommodation i thought was really very good value as there was so much room and all the facilities that you need were at hand and all the rooms were very clean .We were given lots of information about what was available in the area as they both have really good knowledge of what you need to see and visit which is really helpful if you have not been to Egypt before. It is easy to get into the centre of the city by various means of transport.

Linda offers wonderful apartments at Villa Lostris a couple of kilometres from Luxor town centre. Very comfortable, clean, with a homely feel. Good security, and lovely pool to paddle in. Quick access to a taxi, use of mobile, and nice goodies in the bathroom. I have rebooked three times and would recommend it highly. Her feline friends are a welcomed addition to the villa. The only downside is the noise...donkeys galore in nearby farmland ee-oh'ing away, and the mosques are quite loud at times, but I didn't mind it in the least. You will thoroughly enjoy your stay!

We have stayed many times, and always feel part of the family. The flat is fantastic and has everything we need. We went for a month last time and worried it might be too long. But it sped by and were sorry to go. We have now booked for six weeks. Linda and Eid are such lovely people. We would recommend it to anyone.

An excellent apartment with copious space for 2. A wonderful roof terrace and and a very kind welcome from Linda and her husband. Nothing was any trouble and the appartment was regularly cleaned. Linda was a great source of local information and the location was very quiet.

Hi! If you are considered to stay here when visiting luxor don't hesitate! Although location is 15 minutes by car from downtown, in all the rest this nice family can be beaten, Cleaningless is excellent, you will find food when you arrive, a warm welcome, relaxing pool, friendly driver to help you to get to the city and the temples and even a mobile to stay in touch if something unexpected happens!

When I arrived at villa Lostris I was completely exhausted from a year of illness.
From being met at the airport by Eid Lindas' neighbour and taxi service to Linda and Eid actually supporting me up the stairs to my villa apartment I was surrounded with kindness and help. Food in the fridge and water ice cold in a second fridge to the cool clean sheets of a double bed, I hadn't slept in mine for 3 years because of my son coming to stay with me.
They installed me in my apartment and left me to slowly settle in ,I was staying for a month. I slept solid for 3 days with occasional trips to the beautiful bathrooms. I didn't eat much but boy did I sleep, Linda was so worried about me she would knock and ask was I alright.
I felt safe and I knew I didn't need to worry about anything.
Eid would come up and ask if I wanted food bringing in and when I eventually rose from my bed of exhaustion I took in just how completely perfect everything was.
While I was there Linda and Eid made me feel like one of the family and I still feel like this. I am hopefully going back soon after another year of complications with my health .I won't be as exhausted this time as my son has moved out and am at least able to sleep in my own bed.
All I can say is that if you look up villa Lostris and they have room go, better than any hotel. Linda and Eid will welcome you with open arms and make your stay in Egypt memorable and magic.
As you can see I have written loads but that is a tiny bit of the luxury you will find at the oasis villa Lostris.

Tucked away on the southern outskirts of Luxor but not too far to walk if you are feeling energetic. Taxis and local buses are easy and cheap. Villa Lostris is an absolute treasure of a place. We have been five times, although this is the first review I have written. Accommodation is spacious and luxurious but it is the hospitality of the hosts, Linda and Eid, that really sets it apart. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they have a wealth of knowledge and contacts that ensures an unforgettable holiday experience.
