A contemporary and colourful, light-filled Victorian cottage and glamourous 'Shed' with it’s grand four-poster. In the New Forest National Park and 0.5 miles from the beach, where wild ponies, cows and donkeys wander. The cottage is particularly suited for families. It sleeps 8 adults + 4 children.

It is eco + luxury, with rescued vintage furniture mixed with the best of new British design. Rooms are colourful, bright and the house is decorated as if it was a home. The house is rented with all bed linen, towels, WIFI, BOSE sound systems and free wood. There is a well designed cottage garden, stables and you can pick your own veg.

... The house has lots of toys and games + a large DVD collection. Kids are especially welcome and will love our magical, whimsical garden; there are two ready-made dens in our living-willow ‘twigloos’, oversize tea-cups to sit on and a beautiful gyspy caravan. The beach is a 15 min walk, 7 mins by bike and 2 mins in the car. Herds of New Forest ponies and cows love it there too. You can take a picnic to the beach and climb trees there too.

Busy Lymington, a pretty and vibrant small town, is 3 minutes in the car. Limewood, multi award-winning spa is 20 mins, there are masses of top restaurants nearby although we think best of all is the smart gastro-pub next door. And it sleeps an extra 10 people if you need more space!

We always suggest our guests take a champagne picnic or yummy takeaway down to the beach 1 mile from the house, you can park here and the sunset views to the Isle of Wight are beautiful.

We think The Shed is the coolest place to stay here at Ploughmans. The main draw is the bed; a sturdy and ornate, white-curtained four-poster affair. The main living/bedroom space is approx’ 7 x 10m, the little bunk room ensuite is 4 x 4m. There is a leather sofa for relaxing, a table to sit 6, a super-micro kitchenette for making tea, a fridge and a wood-burner for heating. The door folds right back to let the garden in. During the summer (less so in winter) this side of the garden is the place to sit and enjoy the afternoon sunshine. (Weekends are approx’ 70% of weekly cost). The least a weekend will cost is £900 in low season. In peak season holidays a weekend is charged at the full weekly price.

  We stayed for 4 nights to celebrate a milestone birthday in the family. Extended family came to stay and booked in the pub next door. Despite the temperature being below freezing we enjoyed a wonderful holiday. The location of the cottage is great; right in the heart of the New Forest with a lovely pub next door, yet only a short drive to the beautiful quayside town centre. The small but very welcomed touches gives the cottage a very homely feel. Beds were extremely comfortable and cosy. You could tell the cottage had been a home and not just a holiday house as it was equipped with everything you may need. The owner was extremely accommodating with all requests and kept in contact to ensure our stay exceeded our expectations.
