Description from the owner
A 70 sq.m - 760 sq. ft. apartment full of charm and character in a 19th century bourgeois building, situated near Les Halles de Lyon, the Auditorium concert hall and the Brotteaux district.
It has retained the features of a classical French "bourgeois" apartment: oak floors, marble fireplaces, high ceilings, detailed coving and the typical Lyonnais cupboards.
Ideal as your temporary home in Lyon when on business, visiting Lyon as a tourist or visiting friends and family or when relocating to Lyon and looking for permanent accommodation.

Friendly, professional hosts and handy location
We stayed 4 nights here in august 2013 and had a very nice time.
We walked to the apartment from the train station with our luggage so it is not too far if you're a bit adventurous and can cope with a few cobbles. Dominique met us at the apartment and explained everything we needed to know.
The bus to the city and Vieux Lyon is at the door so quite handy for sight seeing.
We can recommend La Bartavelle at 132 Rue Tête d'Or for a few drinks in the evening - this is a small family friendly bar close to the apartment.
We would stay here again if we return to Lyon (hopefully for longer) and are recommending this apartment to our friends.
Very friendly and helpful hosts. We were a family of 4 and the apartment was very comfortable and clean. Although not located in the centre we were able to walked everywhere. Would stay again and would recommend.
Very French, very nice
A charming apartment, very well equipped and in a very convenient location. The bus-stop with frequent services to the more touristy parts of town is about 2 minutes walk from the apartment or you can walk. The Tête d'Or parc is about 15 minutes walk. And the Halles de Lyon Paul Bocuse are just across the top of the road.
For a short stay, you don't have to go and buy things like tea, coffee, olive oil, dishwasher tablets, etc, as everything is provided and the owners, Roger and Dominique, are very pleasant.
There are plenty of maps, guidebooks, books and Dvds in English as well.

Another Fun Stay
We stayed there May-June-July - our fourth time in the apartment. Once again we had a great time. Weather was rainy for the first five weeks, but cannot blame the City or the apartment for that!
Once again, Dominique and Roger took good care of us, as we reconnected with our neighbors and with the various local restaurants and shops.
In June and July, we were out and about a lot, seeing shows at the Cite Internationale auditorium and at the Roman amphitheater. We ate at sidewalk cafes, traveled out to surrounding towns and sights, and generally lived the good life.
Excellent hosts and convenient location.
We spent two months here in March and april, and the warmth and attentiveness of Dominique and Roger easily made up for this Spring's unusually cold and wet weather. They, and Dominique's brother Gerard, were extraordinarily helpful in ensuring that our stay was pleasant and comfortable.
As others have noted, the apartment is conveniently located several blocks from the Part Dieu rail station and the terminus for the airport navette. It's a 10 minute walk to the Metro, and the C3 bus stops less than 100 metres from the door, with service every 3-5 minutes to the Presqu'ile and Vieux Lyon. For music lovers it's only a 5 minute walk to the auditorium, home of the excellent ONL and the site for many other concerts by smaller groups. The Tete d'Or park is about a 15 minute walk. For foodies there's Les Halles just across the road, and a plethora of good restaurants nearby, as well as open air markets at Place Guichard on Sunday and Tuesday and on the Rue Tete d'Or on Wednesday and Saturday; both markets are within a 10 minute walk.
The appearance of the area around the train station is typical of what one finds in larger European cities, and there is currently a lot of construction in the area around the apartment, so it's not the most charming part of Lyon, but we always felt safe in the area, even when walking home late at night. In summary, we can confirm all of the favorable comments of prior reviewers.

Another Wonderful Stay in Lyon!
We just spent another delightful stay in this lovely apartment. I believe this is our 3rd time here; once for a year and twice for 3 months at a time. We arrived September 26th and returned to the us December 12th. Being close to the Part Dieu Station and the TGV made our trip to and from CDG in Paris very easy.
As always the apartment was freshly cleaned and also had fresh linens when we arrived. Dominique has also updated several furniture pieces as well as lighting in the kitchen. The apartment is very attractive and comfortable - a great home-away-from-home.
The location is also perfect! We only rent a car when we want to go sightseeing away from town. Otherwise, we walk or take public transportation - Lyon is a very pedestrian-friendly city.
We are also just a short walk away from the Part Dieu Shopping Center (4th largest in France, according to the latest information), the famous Les Halles Paul Bocuse (you will find an amazing selection of the best vegetables, meats, sea food, cheeses, wines, confections, etc. etc. here), and across the street from our favorite boulangerie, Vitenature (Philippe and angeline will take very good care of you!).
This trip my international cooking group of 8 women prepared and ate a full lunch in the apartment. We had all the room and everything else we needed in the kitchen to accommodate all of us at once and enjoyed a lovely three-course, three hour lunch in the dining area. Great fun for all of us!
We are definitely looking forward to our return in the Spring!
EASY LOCATION IN LYON
Walk from the main station , large shopping mall & trams
Great location. Dominique met us and was most helpful with information and the provision of a phone. We were also provided with a complimentary bottle of wine.
There is a lift up to the medium- sized but adequate apartment
Everything was clean and comfortable.
Les Halles Paul Bocuse is a short walk away where there is gourmet food to buy from beautifully presented market counters. You can eat there too .It's pricey however.
If you don't speak French a tram/bus map would be a great help
a big supermarket is on the top floor of the shopping mall nearby.
excellente adresse !
Tout était parfait et Dominique a fait le maximun pour rendre notre séjour très agréable. Nous reviendrons.
A home from home
My father and I stayed here for 3 nights in early September. We both agree that it is a veritable home from home- unlike a hotel you can relax in the apartment which is not formal like a hotel room and has fixtures and fittings like you would choose yourself.
Beautiful finishes to the ceilings and rooms with select pieces of furniture and furnishings.
Great to be able to use a phone to call and reserve tables at local eateries.
My advice is to use the tram to get into town and when you can use the velo cycles to really go local and see the sights.
Dominique was enormously helpful and gave support when asked for.
A place that is highly recommended.

Late summer in Lyon
Quite unexpected little place, close to everything! Felt like a mini version of my own home. Well appointed, nicely renovated. Gracious hosts who are so well organized, affording an easy transition to Lyon by providing complete resources for everything from transportation to sights to groceries. Located near the famous Halle de Paul Bocuse which in addition to having a fresh fish market, charcuterie shops, a gourmet shop with lots of imported foods had nice restaurants. I got a nice taste of authentic Lyon here. Highly recommended, felt safe walking around the neighborhood. Would stay here again!
Hobart, Tasmania, Australia
This is a good-sized apartment, very well equipped with everything that one needs for self-catering.
It is excellently positioned, just around the corner from Les Halles de Paul Bocuse in one direction (for a delectable range of food) and a large shopping centre, including Les Galleries La Fayette,in the other. There is a supermarket very close to the apartment.
Public transport to the city centre is very close, or one can walk, in about 15-20 minutes. It is within easy walking distance of the main railway station.
Also easily accessible is a large park, with a lake, boats and a zoo.
It is situated in a small side-street, just off a main road and was quiet when we were there.
Dominique and Roger are excellent hosts, offering everything to make it a pleasant experience. Checking in and out was very easy.
excellent apartment for family of 4
Two adults and 2 teens(13 and 15) stayed here for 3 nights. There was enough space so that the teens each had a bed and seperate sleeping space. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was very modern and complete lots of pots pans;dishes glasses. Professional touch: lovely bottle of rose waiting for us in the fridge.Best: Dominique extremely helpful; location next to Les Halles is fantastic. Least: noisy with windows open at night but not a big problem, no air conditioning but fans in both rooms work well.

A charming apartment with easy access to all Lyon offers
This apartment proved to be exactly what we wanted, a comfortable and complete location that offered easy access to all of Lyon. The apartment itself is charming and offered a very good kitchen and modern laundry facilities allowing us a home away from home.
The very short walk to Les Halles Paul Bocuse puts you close to temptation every day! Given that Lyon is the culinary capital of France, access to Les Halles puts a world of delicious delight just a two minute walk away.
We found the location close to the Metro, the airport train shuttle (Rhone Express), shopping and much more. The owner was professional and charming and made everything from booking to check in and check out a breeze. We'd certainly recommend this to friends.

A great apartment close to all Lyon has to offer.
Our family greatly enjoyed staying in this apartment. The apartment itself is spacious and well appointed in a lovely old building and it is walking distance/quick bus ride into the heart of Lyon city and the old city centre. Most importantly it is located almost next door to 'Les Halles' - a fantastic indoor food market. However what we liked most was how genuinely nice and helpful both Dominique and Roger were with all of our questions about Lyon and the apartment - staying in their apartment makes your holiday much easier!
Fantastic accommodation. Classic french feel, perfect location.
I stayed at this apartment for 4 months while studying in Lyon. It could not have been better. It had beautiful high ceilings making it feel very large, it was extremely clean, had all the needed appliances and amenities, and the owners went above and beyond the call of duty to make the stay comfortable and memorable.
But the best feature is the location. It is literally 2 minutes from the main train station in Lyon - making weekend trips and travel very easy - and it is beside the largest shopping mall in Lyon, making affordable groceries etc very accessible. It is also a 10 minute walk to the historic center of Lyon.
I would stay here again and again and can't wait for my next visit.

An incredible place to stay with even more incredible hosts!
My fiance, my friend and myself lived in Lyon at this apartment for approximately 4 months. It was a treat to stay there. Upon arrival our hosts greeted us and showed us around the apartment. The apartment was equipped with absolutely everything you could imagine. From spices and olive oil to dvds, it was easy to instantly feel at home. The kitchen is totally equipped so making meals at the apartment is very easy. Furthermore, there is a spectacular indoor market only about a minute walk away; so picking up fresh ingredients is very easy. This was great for us since we were staying for such an extended period of time.
In order to eat out, you would likely need to take the metro somewhere. The metro is about a 7 minute walk away from the apartment, in the middle of the nearby shopping centre. So it easy to get around Lyon without a car. There is a bike station a minute away from the apartment, where for a single euro you can borrow a bike for 1/2 hour and drop it off at another station (stations are located all over the city). So all this is to say is the location of the apartment is really great.
The apartment is beautifully decorated. The high ceilings create a spacious feeling. The apartment was quite comfortable space-wise for the 3 of us, however the apartment could easily accommodate 5 people for a shorter time-frame. (The apartment has 1 queen, 1 double, and 1 single bed). The double bed is located in a common area (a futon that folds down into a double bed).
One of the best parts of staying at the apartment is how wonderful the owners were to us. They responded quickly to emails and were extremely accommodating. They checked on us regularly to make sure everything was ok. They gave us tons of tips and support in terms of getting acquainted with Lyon. They are wonderful people!
I would highly recommend staying here! If anyone has anymore questions about our experience I would be happy to answer them through email.
Comfortable apartment with convenient location
My family (inc three children) stayed at this flat for three nights. The directions and welcome from Dominique were excellent and we found the flat well presented and comfortable. The location provides easy walking access to all areas of the city.
Very nice authentic french apartment
We stayed in Lyon for 3 nights enroute from Paris to the alps. We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment - it was nice, clean, and welcoming. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We were close to the Railway station and - best of all - beside Les Halles where the gourmet market is. We visited it every day and brought some great food back for tea! This was our first stay in Lyon and we liked the city. If we go again we'll try to make more use of the city bikes and explore along the river which is very pretty.
roomy, charming and practical
After staying in Paris, Lyon and aix-en-Provence, we found this apartment to be the most charming and comfortable. High enough to be quiet and breezy. Conveniently near the train / metro station and grocery stores and mall, in a neighborhood that is being renewed. Dominique was extremely helpful with questions and requests. We found our first visit to Lyon to be very positive.

Wonderful apartment in Lyon Part Dieu
I have stayed in this apartment twice for 6 weeks in the summer, in 2006 and 2010. It is a beautiful facility in a fabulous location in the city, just minutes from Les Halles de Lyon and the Centre Commercial. The owners, Dominique and Roger, could not be more welcoming and helpful. Should I return to Lyon there is nowhere I would rather stay.
A fantastic homely stay with all you could ask for and more!
Our stay began with us getting lost in Lyon and the lovely owners coming to rescue us. This was the beginning of two lovely people who exceeded any expectations we had of being welcomed to their lovely vacation rental. Anything we needed they were only a phone call away (a phone which they provided free of charge!). But we had everything we needed in the apartment, and more. They provided some basics in the fridge (milk, juice etc) and lots more in the cupboards including tea, coffee, oil, vinegar etc. We even had a play gym and bouncer provided for our baby and a cot was on offer too (although we had our own).
You could easily stay in this apartment and not go anywhere as there was tv, dvd, stereo etc. But you couldn't stay in when we were so close to the delectable Les Halles Paul Bocuse, where you can buy the most divine food. But if you didn't want to be that decadent a supermarket was literally right across the road.
Thank you Dominique and Roger for a wonderful time in Lyon and for all the help you gave us when I wasn't feeling well and when we were completely lost. We hope to come back again, six nights was not enough!

Could not be better
This apartment is wonderfully well appointed and located - within easy walking distance of the market, shops, transport and entertainment. Our hosts were readily available for help and advice. We have stayed in many apartments in Europe and this rates as one of the very best.
Nice apartment, great location
We stayed in this nice apartment in Lyon for
several nights this March. Our experience was
entirely positive. The apartment was nicely
appointed and very comfortable.
We arrived by train, and it was an easy walk from
the Part Dieu train station. A metro tram/ bus stop
is just around the corner to connect to wherever
you might want to go. The marketplace at Les Halles
de Lyon across the street is a fun way to pick up
groceries for meals.
Dominique was very organized and professional
through the experience and incredibly thorough in
her information. She provided not only the basics,
but everything from what markets were open on
Sunday as we arrived and written information about
how to use all of the appliances.
We were four people, it was a little tight with two
teens sleeping in the living room space, but
certainly workable. With two or three people and
not needing to use the sofa bed, it would be
We loved our stay, and would definitely return and
recommend this place to others.
Well located, clean and friendly. Owner speaks English.
We stayed here for 9 weeks at the end of winter
2010. The appartment was a good size for the
two of us plus baby. It was very well located,
about 150m to Les Halles for magnificent food, 15
mins walk to Vieux Lyon and other attractions.
Also very well serviced by bus and metro with a
major station 10 mins walk away.
Despite one of the coldest winters in 20 years, the
appartment was very warm and comfortable.
By far the best feature of the appartment was the
friendliness of the owners. Dominique could not
do enough for us and made us feel truly welcome.
As an added bonus Dominique speaks excellent
English (better than us we thought, and we are
The lift was big enough to fit one person plus
stroller, so we didn't have to pack and unpack the
baby every time we went out.
All in all we had a wonderful time in Lyon and in
great part that was due to our lovely appartment
and our excellent friendly hosts. I would
recommend this place to anyone without a
Perfect apartment for our little family!
My family and I (husband and two young children) had a great stay in the Part Dieu Les Halles apartment. We stayed for 4 weeks in September and October 2009. The apartment was in an ideal location for exploring Lyon- two blocks from Paul Bocuse market, 1 block from supermarket, 15 minute easy walk to downtown or the park, and 2 blocks from the Part Dieu shopping mall. We loved the location because we definitely felt like we were able to experience Lyon as the locals do, while still being in a central and safe neighborhood. The apartment was perfect and everything was in excellent condition. Dominique and her husband went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and answer any questions we had both before we arrived and while we were in Lyon. Dominique even arranged to have a few baby products for our young daughter to use in the apartment and had brought movies over for our son to watch. The apartment felt like our home for those four weeks and we have fond memories of our time there. We hope to go back in the future! It is a perfect apartment for a couple, a small family or a few friends to share. Enjoy!

Home away from home - Classy comfort!
The apartment in rue Moncey was for me truly a home away from home. It is classy, beautifully decorated, spacious and equipped with everything you might need. There is high speed Internet (Wifi), a DVD/CD player, with widescreen TV, and a little box through which you can connect your Ipod, Flash drive, or computer. I’m a musician, so this was very handy for me. There is also a fixed phone, which you can use to phone for free locally in France and the rest of Europe. The kitchen is quite big and really well-equipped, to some extent better than my own kitchen! I even had friends over for dinner and it was such a cosy atmosphere with all the beautiful standing lamps and beautiful furniture.
The apartment is really centrally situated, with a Monoprix (general store where one can buy all commodities) just round the corner and the famous Les Halles Paul Bocuse (covered market) literally across the street. Taking cours Lafayette, to walk to the banks of the Rhône takes about 8 minutes and then it’s a matter of walking across the bridge and you’re on the Presqu’ile (the island between the two rivers).
The owners are the kindest people and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. They were always available when I needed some advice and were really helpful with regard to suggesting where to find everything I needed. There are also some novels for someone who feels like a bit of reading, I didn’t really find the time, and tons of maps, brochures and booklets about discovering Lyon and the surrounding areas.
I thought the price was very reasonable for what this apartment offers. If you are searching for a comfortable place to stay with a French touch, this apartment with its late 19th century bourgeois feel would be ideal. I highly recommend it!
