      Great location, great neighborhood.

Left on 03/30/2013 for a stay in March 2013

We stayed at the Brotteaux apartment for 4 days in March. It was our first time renting an apartment rather than staying in a hotel and based on this experience we’ll try apartments from now on whenever possible. We enjoyed the extra room and the opportunity to prepare our own meals.

For us, the location was great. The apartment was a short walk from Lyon’s Part-Dieu train station. Bus #6 went right by and two metro stops were also close.

We very much enjoyed the neighborhood. There was a good grocery story right across the street and numerous bakeries and restaurants close by. Daniel recommended a wine shop and we enjoyed their selections. We walked to an outdoor market one morning and took in the sights as well as purchased a number of local products for our meals.

Would we return? Definitely, if and when the opportunity presents itself.

Very comfortable apartment with fabulous views

Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in August 2012

The apartment was great - spacious and well furnished. The climb was a little challenging but worth it. Daniel, our host, was helpful and informative.

We loved this apartment. Lots of space for kids to play. Easy walking distance to Parc de la Tete d'Or, Les Halles and a public swimming pool. Reliable wi-fi. Metro station 2 blocks away. Owners very friendly and accommodating.

Apartment - "Place d'ainay" Very modern decor and great locatio

Left on 06/23/2012 for a stay in April 2012

The apartment we had was at place d’ainay. In a very good quiet location, only 5 mins walk to metro. Supermarket and restaurants nearby. Lovely modern decoration. The bedroom was huge with loads of storage and a huge comfortable bed. Cute little kitchen and free wi-fi. The bathroom was a little on the small side but modern and room for your things. It was on the third floor no elevator, we knew this before booking.

We really enjoyed staying here but there were two reasons why the three star rating and not 5. We had made a time to meet the greeter and get the keys to apartment. We were there on time but were left waiting outside in pouring rain with bags for over 15 mins waiting for their arrival. Not a good start. Also there was some issue with the electricity. Our first night was very cold we had heating and tv going but when we went to make our dinner the electricity and all lights went out. We found fuse box but could not work out how to re-set it, lucky we had a small torch with us. We then had to go out in pouring rain, search for a shop to get phone card, then find a public phone to get hold of Daniel. He did tell us how to re-set it. By now it is really late we are cold and wet again.
You can’t cook and have anything else on in apartment. We worked out you could have one large hotplate going and one light. No heating. Not too good when you are cold and wet. Luckily for us there were plenty of candles all over the apartment. I thought that these were just part of the decoration, not a requirement. It did make for a romantic atmosphere. We should have been told about the electricity when arriving to apartment. I am sure on a lovely warm evening when you don’t need heating and are not cooking but having your dinner at one of the many great bouchons nearby this would be of no issue.
If you know of this problem in advance and know how to re-set the meter box than you will have a nice stay in a great little apartment.
