This is a ground floor oceanfront unit with internet connection. It is a 2 bedroom
(king/queen/queen sofa bed),2 bathroom condo that will sleep 6 people. It has
a flat screen TV. The 5 mile beach is accessible just a few steps away from the
lanai.
This is the smallest of the complexes on Hauoli Street. It only has 23 condos in
the complex. It sits right at the edge of the beach amidst lush tropical greenery.
It has an expansive lawn with many lawn chairs to enjoy the sun, read a book

We found unit a-6 to be dated and in need of a good cleaning. Stained carpet, dusty furniture, dirty windows, large hole in the door of the guest bathroom and there were not any beach related items that are usually found at beach front properties. With all of that said, we loved the location and the easy access to the water.

Makani-a-Kai and Maalaea Bay Rentals are as good as it gets for a quiet, well-managed beachfront vacation rental on the island. I found Makani-a-Kai in 1983 and have been back almost every year since then - sometimes 3 times a year! Nothing fancy, just nice units, managed by the greatest people in the best location!

We decided to meet my husband's cousing and his wife half way - we are in California and they are in Sydney. We met up in Honolulu and then on to our hide away in Maui. This is our second stay in this facility and we love the laid back environment, seclusion and the cooler temperature. This is definitely where we like ot be when we visit Maui. It is a great central location that allows us to tour and enjoy the Island from one end to the other. We will be back!
