This oceanfront unit sleeps 6 guests. It is a 2 bedroom (king/twins/queen sofa

bed) 2 bathroom condo. It has internet connection, flat screen TV, and a deluxe

kitchen. One sleeping area is in an open loft area.

This complex gives all guests an oceanfront unit. It is nestled in lush tropical

vegetation that surrounds the building. The complex is situated on the reef and

it has a large swimming pool and BBQ area. A short walk will gain you access to

our beautiful and peaceful 5 mile beach. There are laundry facilities available on

the premises. Parking spaces are assigned to each unit.

  I picked this area for the location as we would be traveling for all 4 days on Maui; a way too short visit!
  I have a plus and minus about the location. The breeze was awesome, why would anyone turn on the air conditioning? We kept the windows open morning and night. The minus was the black dust. I was not sure if it was from the island or the power plant. My bare soles were black every day, the dust on surfaces became noticeable in several days. Had I spent more time there I would have been cleaning often. It didn't stop me from sitting on the balcony to take in the wonderful view but my feet needed washed and my clothes picked up the dust on the chairs outside.
  The condo was spacious and well appointed. We did not use the kitchen much although I found anything we would need to cook, clean and be comfortable. The kitchen area was a nice set-up. The condo looked as it was presented in the photos but on closer inspection it was a bit well-used. I understand as this location has probably seen it's share of visitors. My overall feeling was that I was comfortable enough to enjoy my stay and relaxed.
  I enjoyed sleeping in the loft. When I woke up and looked out the wall of windows every morning I was pleased at the view. The loft bed was very comfortable. Having the shower stall open into the loft took about 2 seconds to get used to.
  The main bath was dark and oppressive and we rarely used it
  There were plenty of items to use on beach trips available in the closets.
  The general location is not a resort area; it looked a bit run-down. Located within walking distance is a Coast Guard station, major highway with gas station, fast food and a row of other condo buildings. It is centrally located on the island. Right around the airport which was very easy to navigate are stores, malls and restaurants in abundance.
  There is no major grocery store in the immediate area but once found we were well stocked with our daily trip supplies.
  We had an experience finding a few bugs in the condo, no fault of the owner. A flying moth-like bug and a beetle were in the bedspread to one of the twin beds. I had no concerns as upon inspection of all bedding in all beds there were no other bugs. They were not any kind of invasive species, just random, here-we-are bugs. Unfortunately one member of our party had a very severe phobia, took ill, booked out, and booked a room in a resort. Our convenient location turned into an extra hour of travel each day to pick this party for trips! We visited them at that resort and at the end of the day we enjoyed relaxing in the hominess of the condo. I would stay there again.
  Get a map and mark the location of shopping and restaurants you might want to visit.

  Best kept secret in Maui!

  I am almost afraid to write this review because I want to keep the secret all to myself, but I will share so others can enjoy the same wonderful experience as we did! We just returned from a week in Maui, staying in Nancy's wonderful condo in Maaleaa Bay which was all we hoped and more! From the initial friendly email and phone call with Nancy the owner, who willingly and patiently answered all my questions until our trip home, it was a highlight of our visit. The condo is in a perfect location, away from all the big resorts yet close enough to all the great places when you choose to visit them. It is serene in the morning, waking up to the ocean from the bedroom...walking over to the harbor watchign the sunrise with a cup of coffee, Bbqing steaks by the pool and so much more. You have everything you need at your fingertips...she has thought of every convenience to include beach towels and coolers. The condo is well maintained and the building grounds are amazing...the lawn is like a golf course. I could go on and on, but check it out for yourself...you won't be disappointed!
