Lisle, ILThe only place to stay!

This cottage was absolutely charming and lovely! Loved the warm, cozy decor and feeling once you walk in the door. It's not small, but quaint. The owners really show they care about the cottage and its vacationers with the thought they've put into the decoration, the ameneties, and just overall set up off the cottage. They even have 2 bikes renters can use, which we did! We loved the perfect location of the cottage - so close to downtown, the shops and restaurants are within walkable distance.
We will absolutely return to this cottage:) -

The cottage was a lovely home away from home. Very clean and comfortable and close to the Ferry. The bikes were a nice added convenience and we took them to the island with us. Hope to return again soon!

Farmington Hills MIThe Coziest Cottage Ever!
Left on 09/06/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My daughters (ages 13 and 10)and I just returned from our vacation at this wonderful cottage! We honestly hated to pack up and leave when the time came and both girls had to have one more snuggle in the "Grandpa Chair". It was the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in!! My daughters and I would draw straws at the end of each day to see who was going to snuggle in it first:-))) The owners were so very helpful and we were so appreciative of all of the extras that were included in this rental! We honestly only needed to bring groceries as everything else was there for us to make this feel comfortable. The bikes were fantastic for us to use to go into town or to see the horse farm near the Headlands. We roasted marshmellows nightly and enjoyed our final smores of the summer each night. We loved the wonderful clean and fresh smell of the cottage when we arrived after swimming in Lake Michigan or watching a sunset at McGulpins Point. We all loved the relaxing music library and listened to the Cd's while reading every night before bed. Both of my girls said they slept perfectly while at the cottage. When we arrived home they immediately looked at the calendar to see when we could go back up for a mini vacation. I would highly recommend this cottage for anyone!

We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay at the cottage. Everything was better than advertized. The location was convenient to activities, restaurants, and shopping yet quiet and very private. We especially enjoyed the woodland decor. The books, dvd's and music offered peaceful relaxation plus the fire was used on cool evenings after busy days. Thanks for a great place to retreat from the business of daily life and to enjoy our 33rd wedding anniversary.

We stayed at the cottage for 2 nights prior to taking the ferry over to Mackinac Island. It was spotlessly clean, had every amenity you could think of, was within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. Hosts were very kind and gracious. Would highly recommend this place! Was quiet and private-off the beaten path-but close enough to get to where you wanted to be.

Left on 11/02/2010 for a stay in October 2010
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Moreno's wonderful cottage as we celebrated our anniversary. The cottage itself is lovely, neat and well furnished. We were so inspired by the great oar hanging in the bedroom that we bought a pair from an antique shop there for our family room. The location is close to everything and Mackinaw City is a great little town. We didn't realize, however, how much was closing down the week following our stay, both in Mackinaw City and on Mackinac Island. We visited Fort Michlimackinac on it's last open day. But, the good news is everything was on sale! We would highly recommend the cottage, and Diana's communication was helpful, thanks. We miss it already!

Wow! What a great place and a great location. We decide to make a spur of the moment trip to Mackinaw for a long weekend. After spending years staying at one of the local hotels, I thought I would see what Trip advisor would suggest. I couldn't believe I found such a wonderful place to stay. Thanks to Diane, she made all my last minute plans succeed. She was so easy to work with. The Cottage is the perfect size for a family of four. Everything we needed was there, including a wonderful comfy chair to sit and read late into the night. The bikes were great and because the location is perfect, we used the bikes to go everywhere including straight up to the Ferry boats to head to the Island. We biked to the beach, took the kayaks to the beach and even brought our tennis rackets and found tennis courts right across the street. We couldn't have asked for anything better. Sorry Mackinaw City hotels, but we found where we are staying from now on!! Thanks so much.

Hi Chuck & Diane,
I didn't get the opportunity to write in your guest book as I had wanted to, but wanted to send an email. First, thank you so much for opening your beautiful cottage to me and my parents. We have been making the journey to the straits area ever since I can remember and stayed at many different places. Yours was definitely one of the most beautiful, relaxing places. If it weren't for your flexibility in checking to see if Jason would build a ramp to the property, I am not sure we would have been able to take our annual vacation. My Dad grew up in DeTour Village, mi and we hold our family reunion at Raber, but always chose to stay in the St. Ignace/Mackinaw City area because there is so much to do and see. The house was perfect for my Dad to manuever around in his wheelchair with the wide doorways. I hope that more people can have the opportunity to rent your property now that you have a portable ramp. It is very difficult to find a place that is handicap accessible in this area. I wanted to make this year special for my parents as I am not certain my Dad who is 87 years and my Mom who is 81 will be able to make this trip much longer. I pray that he will be able to and I will definitely consider renting your property again.
I do find that the are many blessings brought to us and we need to recognize these blessings in our lives. Finding your cottage was truly a blessing and there were signs of that all around me as I stayed for the week. St. Anthony's church was just a short distance away and my sister had prayed to St. Anthony to find a place so that my parents could have a comfortable vacation.
Your attention to detail throughout the house, helped make it a pleasant, homey stay. I hope that you are able to finish the shed and make it into a bunk house for additional guests to enjoy.
God Bless You Both,
Merel De Mott -

This lovely little cottage is in proximity to many of the sites and attractions in the area. That was perfect for us traveling with our 2-year-old who naps midday. The furntiure was cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed eating in restaurants recommended by the owners, but also took advantage of the well-equipped kitchen. We appreciated the extras: CDs for the CD player; access to a DVD player; and a few games and toys throughout the place.

My husband and I spent a weekend at this lovely cottage which contains all the amenities one could need, was clean and beautifully appointed. It was very conveniently located to Mackinaw City within walking distance but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of main street to be peacefully enjoyable. We highly recommend this cottage as a beautiful retreat location.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon last July and had a great time. We came to see the bridge that her late grandfather helped build and that he always talked about. The cabin was very clean and had very nice decorations. There are bikes available to take for a spin around the town, however you are only a very short walk from the downtown area with all of the shops, restaurants, and ferry docks. Lots of space in the yard too if you have kids that want to play outside, and just a short three or four minute bike ride away from the bridge too.

Although our stay was short, it was the most peaceful and relaxing part of our entire week's vacation. Nestled back away from the street,it was so serene with all the comforts of home. And yet, it is only a few blocks to downtown. Everything was provided for our comfort from the bath towels and laundry to the kitchen with all the appliances, cookware and dishes. Everything was very clean and tidy. The decor was absolutely charming. Cozy cottage should be renamed "Serenity cottage"

This cozy cottage is warm and inviting with each rooms decor. It is very clean and has a lot of thought added in to make your stay more enjoyable. There are books and literature to read, plenty of everyday household items that you might need, like a washer and dryer, dishes, etc. I would recommend this place to everyone of all ages. It's close to many attractions and far enough away for your privacy. I really liked the warm feeling of the environment from the minute I walked in the door. The only thing I didn't like was not being able to stay longer! I can't wait to go back!
