Oct 14-17, 2010 was our first visit to Madeira Beach. Surf Song was absolutely wonderful!! Our room was plenty big enough for 2-3 people and had everything we needed. It was recently updated, beautifully decorated and had a great view!! We will definitely be back!

Again, the surf song was a home away from home for us. The unit was perfect for my husband and I, so clean, gorgeous view...just excellent...cannot wait to return...great job!

Room 256 has a wonderful view. The room is generous in size and nicely
decorated. Terrific value! Great location! We would absolutely stay there

I would recommend this place and my room was very nice. My only complaint and it would not stop me from staying there again are the numerous rules which can be somewhat quest unfriendly.

We stayed in #256 the last week of February, 2009. It was clean and had everything we needed. I came prepared with two sets of dishes, bowls, silverware, etc. for eating in the room for breakfast and lunch, but didn't need anything, as the room had everything we needed (4 dishes, 2 bowls, silverware, 4 glasses and coffee mugs). The room was clean and quiet (except for the first night). The people staying there are almost all over 60 years old, but that was fine (we're in our early-mid 50s). Everyone was very friendly (guests and staff). Had a light bulb burn out and it was replaced within an hour. Highly recommend it for people who want clean and nice but not extravagant. We'll be back next year I hope.

The room was very nice and had most everything we could need. It was clean and the view was very nice. The only thing we would have liked was an ice machine somewhere on the property. The refrigerator we had, had a freezer, but it was a problem having to get the ice cubes out all the time and no where to actually dump the extra cubes, so you had to refill everytime. Other than that, we really liked the whole atmosphere at Surf Song. KIS

Surf Song is a wonderful place to stay. The weather was fabulous and the people very friendly. In fact, we made some new friends there. We had a motel room (#256) and it was great! We were a bit concerned about whether it would be large enough for a one-week stay; however, it was perfect for us. We ate out every night, but had breakfast and lunch in the room. I brought bowls, plates, silverware, etc. but found upon arrival that I didn't need them, as they were provided. This place is clean, quiet and friendly. Families with children and teens may find it a poor fit, but for those of us over 50, this is the place!

Keep in mind that Surf Song is actually a great family place for kids and teens at other times of the years. Please contact our knowledable staff about the best times of year for certain ages. Winter & Fall (jan-feb - sept - oct- nov) are best for mature adults, rest of year when school is out is great for families! -

Was really excited about this place.
We had a great time. The view was great and the room was clean.
I was partially on business and vacation. The reason I also picked this place because it had high speed internet in the room and needed to consistently get a hold of my producer. I started having problems with the internet, but it kept coming back.
So this became such an issue that it completely shut down. Now I had no contact. I had someone come into my room and look at it and tell me that its not working and they don't know when it will. I was really surprised by that answer I told them I specifically needed the internet. But it didn't seem to matter. I had no choice but to leave one day early. Absolutely no compensation for the day nor the non working internet, not to mention the inconvenience of the office being completely renovated. So to top off the rest of our trip we get a phone call in our room. You see we were leaving early, so they called us to see what time we were leaving, most likely so they could rent the room again. Double dipping...........
I found out the guy that was working on our internet and the one who called about when we were checking out was one of the owners. What a shame.
My wife and I had such a good time there and its amazing those circumstances had to ruin it and none of the owners or staff cared whether we left or not, they were more concerned about renting the room.
No compensation and no advise or alternatives to the problem
Its really too bad cause we loved the place otherwise.
Would I go back again, only if they gave us back the day and a half we lost of our vacation.

I think if you read the other reviews about Surf Song Staff and "owners" you'll get a better idea about them. We do remember this guest and the issues w/ their internet. We were able to get our PCs' working with the internet. This guest I believe had a Mac. We are not tech support.
Regarding the assumption of "double dipping", it is just that - a wild guess. Most likely housekeeping was trying to get ahead of a pending busy day. Guest at no time asked for a refund or stated they were leaving for a reason relating to there stay. The management always works with guests when we understand there is an issue. Many guests leave a day or two early for a myriad of reasons. -

Our vacation at Surf Song was a great time. The accomodations were wonderful. The location can't be beat. Everyone in the office was knowledgeable and very friendly. This property is highly recommended. I hope you enjoy your stay!

Overall an excellent stay! The room was recently updated and is an excellent space for 2 people or small family with small children. The bathroom was a bit small but the main space was very comfortable and well appointed. The facility as a whole was geared toward families and on the beach, overall very good condition in all aspects. Staff was courteous and informative. I plan on returning next year, preferably the same room.
