Description from the owner
Reflecting its up-and-coming location, this funky attic apartment in Madrid's city centre mixes up colourful madrileño style with modern design.
In true attic character, the sloping ceilings, roof beams and skylights give the apartment plenty of light and charm, with high-tech fittings and cosy furnishings to complete the look. A fire place has been installed and it will give the flat and incredible touch of romanticism.
With its own little balconette overlooking the barrio, the attic maintains a unique appeal in Madrid culture, atmosphere and an easy-to-explore setting.

Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Left on 01/26/2012 for a stay in January 2012
This flat couldnt be better in terms of its location, layout and equipment. It had coffee sugar tea etc, only had to buy milk and food at the supermarket three minutes walk away. We stayed three nights and saw The Thyssen, Prado, Palacio Real, Reina Sofia, Mercado San Miguel and the Sunday market and never had to get a cab or tube, this place is within a kilometer (half mile) of everything we wanted to see. Brilliant, will return!

CanadaWe really felt at home
Left on 10/03/2011 for a stay in September 2011
We are a Canadian couple who stayed here for our honeymoon. It was great. We basically made ourselves at home in Madrid for two weeks, staying the entire time here. We really felt comfortable, safe and content here. At the end of each day it really was like coming home. This place had all the amenities we needed, right down to kitchen materials like coffee and cooking oil, DVD movies (watch the almodovar box set and you'll feel Spain that much more!) and sheets with tips on what to do in town. It was conveniently located close to most of the major tourist areas, well within walking distance of the Plaza Mayor and good restaurants along the Calle de Cava Baja strip. Lots of other good restaurants and stores nearby, and close to metro stations and grocery stores. Be warned there is no elevator, so you'll have to walk up 85 stairs (we counted :) ) every time, but that's ok as long as you're not old or fat. Lol. The place was very clean, very modern, well furnished, and cozy, with enough little fun touches to feel homey. There was laundry, a full kitchen, and air conditioning, which was huge since it was 35C when we were there some days. The one major complaint we had was that the guy who was supposed to be there to let us in upon check-in was late. This left us stranded outside a locked apartment block in the street in an entirely new city for us, with our bags, at dusk. And after travelling for 20 hours. We were not impressed and slightly worried at first. The guy did show up after about 15 minutes, but it was 15 fairly uncomfortable minutes. Plus he didn't speak anything but Spanish, so it was a good thing one of us knew enough Spanish to be shown how to use the dishwasher, washing machine, etc. He was a nice guy though, in the end. All in all though, that was our only complaint. We really, really enjoyed this place and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Owner
Samantha your plane landed 45 minutes before schedule, not so usual. We do check times, but not used to such early landing, I think you should have guessed that was the reason. In fact you arrived 15 minutes before the time you said you would arrive. Also, instead of calling, you sent an email saying you were there. I am quite fast with email, in fact I was fast, but I dont read email every second. You have instructions for eveything in English all through the apartment and you can call me or email me for free from the apartment. It couldnt be easier, If there was a way to give you the keys directly as I have managed to do in other apartments, you would not really need anyone to explain. In this apartment we prefer to do a proper check in to help with luggage, even though it should not be a suprise the lack of elevator as it is explained on the website, and mentioned in almost all comments.

Has been a pleasure to deal with Nuria, she was really helpful and very professional.
The apartment was probably the best fully equipped i ever seen, clean and in a remarkeable location.
Only draw back, are the stairs (4th floor) but apart of this, you are literally 5 minutes away from Plaza Mayor or Puerta del Sol..
The area is well serviced and i can't say anything less that i truly recommend it!!

New York City, New YorkA Fantastic Find!
Left on 05/19/2011 for a stay in December 2010
On our arrival we were welcomed by a representative who explained use of appliances and location to nearby conveniences. He was helpful in answering all our questions. When we requested additional sheets and a new frying pan he was most obliging and returned with these items.
The apartment was well equipped with everything we need. There was a large screen tv, wi-fi, laptop computer, washing/drying machine and all kitchen and dining room conveniences. In addition, there was a very comprehensive book on how to operate the items in the apartment as well as a tourist listing and maps of whatever you needed.
The location was perfect for us. It was close and within walking distance to all main tourist attractions and museums. It is also close to the main train station and subway/tube stations.
The apartment was very much a comfortable home away from home.
In spite of the fact that this is an attic walk-up apartment, it really was quite do-able! By the time we left, I was in fit form! -

My husband and I enjoyed this little apartment. It was fun to cook and watch the almodovar videos to gain a different insight into the Spanish Madridleno way of life! The apartment is well stocked with most of what you need in the kitchen. I would have like better frying pan and perhaps a few more towels. Too our surprise they had a little computer to use and we could go on line. The people who run it are very kind and helped us arrange a 3:00am taxi for the airport. The location is perfect to all the sights, we walked everywhere. We would stay there again.

EdinburghAn excellent flat for exploring central Madrid on foot.
Left on 11/07/2010 for a stay in November 2010
No criticisms only praise for Nuria and her flat. There are 80+ steps up to the flat so it may not suit everyone but it is definitely worth the climb. The location is 10-15 minutes walk from the Prado, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol so you have no excuse not to see the sights. There is also a metro station 250 metres away along with bus routes but the flat itself is in a virtually traffic free location. Nuria provides loads of useful visitor information in the flat so you can easily get to grips with this vibrant city. Definitely a location we would return to and one we warmly recommend to others. Thanks Nuria.

great value!

Left on 03/18/2010 for a stay in March 2010
First, Nuria and Isabella were great to work with. They helped me move from my hotel to the apartment when it was ready. We stayed in the flat for 4 nights. Location was ideal-easy access to Metro, Museums, Plaza's and such. The only time we took the metro was to go to the airport, and the Soccer Stadium. The street has a bit more character and liveliness than expected, but we had no problems and would stay here again on our next trip if possible. Amenities - has everything we needed and then some. Loved the fireplace and stocked films. Regarding the steps - didn't mind them at all. We had to give the apartment 4 stars simply because we had problems with the shower drain, and the landing lights didn't work outside the apartment (freaky dark at night). In fairness, we only let the owner know of these upon our departure. She was planning to fix these right away, and had lined up a plumber already. If not for these two things, we would give it a 5 star rating. Thank you Nuria!!

We had a great time at the apartment and owner was very nice.
We would recommend the apartment, but it is important to know that it is 4th floor and there is no lift. So if you do not mind some excercise and walking up the stairs, this is great. The apt has everything you might need.
The location is very central and recommended for those who like multicultural neighbours. The area is not dangerous like some guides say, it may be colourfull but it is quite safe, with nice bars, Indian restaurants etc...
We liked it very much.

Left on 02/14/2010 for a stay in August 2008
We stayed in this attic for a 4-night weekend and it couldn't be any better.
The apartment is really central and the tube is 1 minute walk, although we walked to almost everywhere.
The apartment has been tastefully decorated and even better than expected. We rent flats very often and this has been the first time that we think the apartment is far better than the pics. We even recommend the sofabed.
A weekend in Madrid is an enjoyable experience and we recommend that to anyone.

Kind and suitable introduction to the apartment and its neighbourhood.
The apartment with its large skylight windows is wery well equiped and very cosy and homely. Somehow you never feel bored there. The reward of the many steps is a very pleasent wiev to the square and also a long wiev to the horizon.
We found out that Picasso in his early years, lived just around the corner. Worth mentioning!

Review Submitted: September 14, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We went to Madrid beginning of September and stayed in this Green attic apartment for 5 days. This apartment is centrally located in the historical downtown Madrid close to all what is to visit in Madrid. The unit is exactly as described, great location, great services, all the amenities that you need, close to grocery store. Very nicely furnished, perfect for 4 people. Everything what we want it to see it was within few miles walking distance. Everything inside was working perfect. We had a great time. The only thing that is missing is an elevator, since this is on the 4th floor you have to go up and down the stairs but since you are not going to do it to often is worth the exercise. Excellent choice for us, we'll stay again there and it’s a much better choice than a hotel. Especially in a central location. Thanks Nuria and Sol! -

We stayed in this apartment during our honeymoon.
The apartment exceeded our expections, and in fact was the best one we stayed in during all our trip around Spain.
It feels like a real home and that is the reason why we liked it so much.
We walked to every museum and didn't really use the tube, although the station was really near.
The fireplace, even though it is electrical and not real, was stunning.
Highly recommended!
