Additional Location Information
These apartments are located on a small, quiet and charming street (Calle Lope de Vega 7) in the middle of the triangle formed by three of the most important tourist references in Madrid: the museums area (Prado, Thyssen, Caixa Forum and Reina SofÃa), Puerta del Sol and Santa Ana Square. This is the perfect location for tourist purposes and to see Madrid by foot from its very historical city center. Additionally, the nearby Antón MartÃn subway station grants you excellent access with the rest of Madrid and an easy way to come in and out of the city from other locations.
The street where these apartments are located (Calle Lope de Vega) is an old, narrow cobblestone street extremely quiet considering its very central location. Here, noise will not be an issue on the weekends or weekdays. At the same time, the lively nearby Huertas street (right behind the apartment), offers you the best selection of traditional restaurants, "tapa" bars and coffee shops.

Los Gatos, CaliforniaGreat location in Madrid
Left on 07/02/2011 for a stay in June 2011
My wife and I stayed here June 1-4 for our first visit to Madrid. Excellent choice. Perfect location for walking to see the city. Clean, near restaurants and stores, compact but spacious enough for two. Word of caution, clear height of loft and area under loft is about 5'10" and since my wife and I are both 6' we hit our heads a number of times. However, pluses out weighed this minus.

Geneva, SwitzerlandIf you can be self-sufficient, stay in an apartment.
Left on 04/25/2011 for a stay in April 2011
The Huertas neighborhood is a great location to walk to main sites, eat great food and enjoy some bar hopping as well. There's even a metro stop near by for those who'd rather not walk. This apartment is located on the 2nd floor (us numbering of floors) and has everything you could need in a short-term rental. Although we did not cook on this vacation (who would want to with so much great food to eat) it has everything except a conventional oven. All your dining needs can be found nearby for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At night, there is some street noise that comes from area bars/restaurants, but you can close the double-paned doors and almost all the noise is taken care of. Turn on the a.c. for a bit cooler sleeping since the bed is up in a loft. Only caveat is if you are over 5'10", you might be challenged to stand in the entry and the loft bedroom. I would absolutely stay here again.

Owner
Beth,
Thank you very much for your review. It was nice meeting you and your family. I would like to point out that the apartment is on a first floor (there is no other floor underneath...).
I hope to have a chance to have you again in the near future.
