I stayed here for 4 nights with my husband and teenage daughter. The apartment was perfect for us although the only downside was the bathroom which was on the small side and the hallway and wooden stairwell in the apartment block which were quite noisy when people were coming and going late at night or in the mornings. Other than that, the location was absolutely brilliant. We could walk to all the main sights and art galleries and the surrounding streets were teeming with great cafes, bars and restaurants. I would definitely recommend it for a short stay in this great city!

Stayed for 5 nights for a family holiday in Madrid and found the Leon apartments just perfect.
The booking service with Spain Select was great and as easy as booking a hotel on Travel Doo / Expedia etc. They provided via email all of the information you needed in advance. Check in was just a phone call when I arrived at Madrid airport and when we arrived at the apartment the representative was waiting for us. We took a taxi from / to the airport which was around Euro 35 each way.
For apartment itself it exactly like the pictures on trip advisor. Bed was very comfortable, kitchen very well equipped (saying that we did not eat in as it’s not at all expensive to eat out) and the whole apartment spotlessly clean. Wifi is also included which is a bonus
It is located in the old district of Madrid where all of the buildings and streets have lots of character and is in a street where the traffic is restricted so very quite at night. We were able to visit the whole of the city on foot (10 minute walk to the Prada museum, 10 minute walk to Plaza mayor, 15 minute walk to the Royal palace, 15 minutes walk to Retiro park)
Also are a number of local restaurants in the street around the apartment which served excellent food, with great atmosphere and were far cheaper than some of the usual tourist traps (plaza mayor etc). In particular I would recommend
Breakfast - the small bakery 3 doors down from the apartment (cake and coffee for only Euro 2.50)
Lunch - any small tapas bar that the locals are eating in (beer Euro 2 / small tapas Euro 3)
Dinner - Ginger (in calle huertas) , Gonzales (2 doors down from the apartment) and -

The Leon apartment was perfectly located in the middle of a fun, artsy area (Huertas), but still felt like a neighborhood street and felt very safe. Easy to walk to lots of major sights, including the Prado and Renia Sofia museums and Plaza Mayor. Good restaurants and tapas bars very close by. We actually walked every while we were there, preferring to see everything on foot rather than using the Metro or a taxi.
The living room area was very comfortable, with great large windows out to a little balcony. The bed and bedding were also comfortable, and although it was a bit chilly and rainy while we were in Madrid, the heaters in each room worked efficiently, keeping us cozy.
The only negatives about the apartment are really minor: the lighting could have been better for reading, and a few additional amenities like paper towels and coffee/tea/welcome packet would have been really nice.
Select Spain was fabulous to work with --- answered all of our questions and responded to all inquiries very quickly. The representative who met us, Christian, was very helpful and gave us his mobile number to use anytime if we need anything. We used the website to book travel to and from the airport, as well (a bit of a splurge but worth it for jet-lagged travel on the arrival side, and a very early morning flight on the departure side) and the car service was wonderful. We'd definitely book with Select Spain again, and would recommed their apartments to our friends who travel. -

Very good apartment - clean, well equipped and superb location. Everywhere in Madrid is in walking distance, shops and bars, restaurant in the street. Bedrooms at the back of the property so no noise in the night.
Balconies (small) for smokers are great.
Potential issue is that the apartment is on the second floor with no lift, so not good for people who struggle with stairs. -

We have spent 4 nights in this lovely apartment. location is amazing. Apartment was very clean and beautifully organized for a stay of 4 people. Only minor remark is we did not have enough hot water for 4, but I'm sure this can be fixed. Highly recomanded!!!
