On ne peut rêver meilleur endroit pour résider à Madrid. A coté du Paseo del arte, de la gare atocha -idéal pour visiter Tolède- de la Plaza Mayor et des artères commerçantes. Le studio est à la fois calme et proche de tous les services : commerces, restaurants, métro Lavapiès. Les propriétaires sont particulièrement sympathiques et attentionnés. Attention toutefois, le canapé-lit pourrait ne pas convenir à deux personnes de forte corpulence.

I stayed at Dino Studio during March for study reasons, it was the perfect place for me, the location just minutes away from 2 metro stations, grocery stores nearby, restaurants. The apartment is centrally located, well-equipped, super clean, and a great bang for your buck. Mercedes and her husband are honest and friendly people who are devoted to rendering a good service and kind hospitality. I highly recommend this apartment.

I would definitely come back to this place! Mercedes and her husband were so nice and accomodating. The location was very conveneient. Its next to the Sofia Reina and theres a metro station and a grocery store within a 5 min walk from there. Lots of cafes and bars nearby too. I was a female on my own and never felt unsafe. Cannot wait to return to Madrid and stay there again!

Mercedes and agustin were wonderful hosts. They are very responsive and keep the place very clean. The apartment is exactly as shown in the photos. It is located on a residential street but is a block from Museo Reina Sofia. Museo del Prado and the Thyssen-Bornemisza are within walking distance. A metro station is a couple of blocks down the street, making it very easy to get around the city. For our day trip to Toledo, the atocha train station is only 5 - 10 minutes away.
With good restaurants and a Carrefour nearby, we have everything we need for a great week-long holiday in Madrid. -

We really enjoyed this clean, functional, air-conditioned and reasonably quiet condo. The room is nicely decorated and comfortable. The location of the condo close to many facilities such as Prado, Sofia Reina art gallery, Botanical garden, Retiro Park and the atocha train station is of great advantage to travellers who don't have much time and want to see things. The owners of the apartment are very welcoming and we appreciate the rolls, jambon, jam, fruits and tea that they supplied us for the breakfast. It saved us some time on looking for a meal in the unfamiliar place. We stayed for 3 nights and can highly recommend it.

The studio is even more charming and peaceful than in the pictures. The Gomez are very nice, patient and helpful, as they waited for us in front of the gate, showed us from a to Z, and left us with breakfast, Spanish wines, books and maps for our stay. Despite the language barrier (they didn't speak English and we didn't speak Spanish at all), somehow we still managed to have some nice chat about Madrid, and Spanish Football :-) The best property owner I have ever met.
The condition of the studio is perfect and clean (fridge, TV, bathroom, kitchen, wifi, and air-conditioner). The location is also good, as it took us 10 minutes to walk to sol, the most centered place of Madrid. Is is also close to the Prado Museum, and the Vicente Calderon Stadium, for your information.
I would definitely recommend you to stay here, and would definitely stay here myself, if I manage to come back to Madrid. Very good value-for-money.Response from Gomez Mercedes - 07/13/2012

Studio Dino is very comfortable. The location is close to Mardid's main attractions, restaurants, cafes, bars, stores of all kinds, as well as to the train station for quick access to sites near Madrid, such as Toledo. We had excellent stay. The owners of the apartment are very welcoming people.

We had the perfect stay in Madrid. The owners Mercedes and agustin are very nice and friendly. They were waiting for us at the front door when we arrived, showed us how everything worked and even had prepared a great breakfast.
The apartment was just what we needed - comfortable, clean, safe, fully equiped. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal.
The location is very good, the area is nice, you can walk to all the museums and major attractions and you are also 5 minutes away to atocha train station, where you can catch the trains to Toledo or El Escorial.
We absolutely recommend it! -

My 22-year-old daughter and I stayed recently. The location couldn't be better -- easy walk to Prado, Reina Sofia, botanical garden, Atocha train station (great for train to airport and a day trip to Toledo, only a half hour away). We walked to all the sights of central Madrid.
Mercedes and agustin met us at the apartment and left us rolls, jam, milk, fruit, etc. for breakfast. There are several markets and restaurants on the street, and a fountain in front of the building.
We slept fine on the sofabed, though the mattress was not as substantial as a real bed. -

First, I should mention that we stayed here for only two days and the short stay might have accounted for some of the shortcomings (supplies) of the apartment.
As everyone has pointed out, the hosts were very nice, personable, professional and returned our security deposit with no problems.
The apartment is very conveniently located,especially since it is walking distance from atocha the last stop of the airport bus and the train station and it is also practically next door to the Reina Sofia museum.
The building is secure, clean and quiet although the first floor setting of the apartment allows the noise of groups of passers by to reach the apartment. Otherwise, there is little street noise.
The apartment is clean. Perhaps since we only stayed for two days, not only was the apartment kitchen not the best equipped as some have mentioned and there was no microwave, the one piece of kitchen equipment many people would use, but there were virtually no supplies in the kitchen, no salt and pepper, starter detergent, none of the even minimal supplies that I have found in the many apartments I have rented.
Even the bathroom had 1 1/2 rolls of toilet paper as if the amount had been calculated for our stay.
The kitchen uses a nice espresso machine that makes good coffee but there were two regular capsules and two decaf capsules and we could not find any in the stores that were open while we were there so we went out for coffee.
There were indeed plenty of linens and the wi-fi worked very well.
The sofa bed was convenient but since bedding is a personal thing, we, personally, found the very thin mattress not very comfortable as we could feel the hard springs underneath. This may not have bothered others.
As a place to stay, the location and cleanliness together with the wi-fi made the studio convenient but as the kitchen was not useful without spending a lot for the time we were there, we barely used it although we had expected to use it a bit more..Response from Gomez Mercedes - 05/24/2012

My wife and I early 50s spent 3 nights at this fantastic apartment. It is close to the main train station and in a very convenient location. The owners were very friendly and were there to meet us at the agreed time. The apartment has 3 separate rooms, a spacious bathroom, a very good kitchen with everything you need (including a washing machine) and the living area, which has a good size table. The lounge folds out to make up your bed each evening – this was easy to do and the bed was comfortable (but as you would expect not as good as a permanent bed). The room had climate control, a big tv (not that we watched it) great wifi, plenty of helpful books and it was fairly quite. Security is excellent and we felt very safe. The apartment was very clean and everything in good order. I did have a very long shower on the first morning and heard my wife scream as it went cold for her – opps!!
Couple of tips: There is a very good supermarket (called Market) at the end of the street – walking away from train station, about 300 meters. Get a good map asap, there are a myriad of small streets in the area and most maps lack the detail to sort out where you are, on the first afternoon I got completely lost. Its about a 15 minute walk into the centre of town, you can take the metro but we walked. The Museums are free on Sundays ?. We did 1 day trip to Toledo; is so easy from this apartment but book your tickets in advance, ie the day before. We loved Madrid and 3 nights was not nearly enough, if we had the time I think 5 nights with 2 day trips would suffice.
The owners welcomed us with some food for breakfast and were extremely helpful (although limited English and we had very limited Spanish – but managed to communicate without any issues). Pros: Overall this was a very good place to stay. If you're looking for quiet neighborhood, but still close to things - this studio would be a good choice. Fairly close to 2 metro stops. Clean, well kept up, nicely decorated. Everything worked well, including washing machine, diswasher, TV & Wifi. Restuarants & markets close by. Owner/ manager Mercedes and her husband were easy to work with - very nice people! Quick repsponse to emails. Returned deposit, in cash, as we checked out.
Cons: Two adults MaX - plus maybe one young child. Water heater is small - take quick showers! We were 3 adults & we couldn't all shower in the morning. Mattress on pull-out was just OK & rather squeeky. Extra bed would work for child or perhaps teen, but not an adult. Following are minor things: Only one very small garbage can in whole place & no extra garbage bags, cooking utensils were few . There was a language barrier when speaking with Mercedes & her husband, but we got our general point across - and they really are very nice people! Don't let that deter you from staying here & communication via emails was no problem. -

We have just spent a very happy five days staying in this bright, comfortable and very convenient apartment. Mercedes and agustin were very welcoming and helpful and we had everything we needed for a trouble-free stay. The apartment was very well equipped and furnished and is beautifully kept. It was also secure and quiet. We loved the lively and cosmopolitan neighbourhood of Lavapies - ethnic food shops, great bars and cafes. We especially liked the Libreria bookshop and cafe just opposite the apartment, with its friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The metro is close by but we mostly walked into the centre and the galleries - only 15 mins or so. The Reina Sofia is in fact just a stone's throw away and atocha station a little further - great for connections to the airport. All in all we couldn't have wished for more and were sad to leave after a wonderful time in this great city and lovely apartment.

Everything in the apartment is in top notch condition, and the owners are extremely friendly and helpful. It's within easy walking distance of the great museums of Madrid, Retiro Park, cafes, restaurants, markets, and the train station, a real plus since there's a terrific (and cheap) bus service between the station and the airport.

We stayed for a week in this studio apartment and recommend it very highly. It is compact, comfortable, very well equipped, and a great location -- walking distance to major transportation hub, and the museums and Retiro Park. It is located in the Lavapies area, which is lively, diverse, unpretentious, and full of small restaurants, cafes, with nearby bakeries, fruit/vegetable vendors, pharmacy, and supermarket. The kitchen is small but fully functional -- a two burner stove, full fridge, coffee maker, toaster, etc; pots and pans, tableware. There's also a dishwasher (which we did not use) and a clothes washer (which we did use). The owners are extremely nice, responsive, and accommodating, even providing breakfast food for us when we arrived, which was a wonderful and welcome surprise after an all-night flight. WiFi connection was consistent and robust. The apartment was spotlessly clean, there were plenty of sheets, towels, and extra blankets available. Building security is very good. The apartment is perfect for a single traveler or a couple. Overall, we could not have asked for a better situation, and staying here was a wonderful experience.

Mercedes was very understanding and communicated very well! Due to the Spanair out of business fiasco we were scrambling to rebook flights and had to change our original dates and Mercedes was nice and allowed us to do so.
When we arrived she met us at the entrance to the property and showed us to the apartment and explained all the parts of the apartment to us. It was very clean and had clean bedsheets and towels for us. Its not a brand new place but all we were looking for was a clean place to sleep and place our stuff while we went out to go site seeing. This place fit the bill perfectly.
It is located just a few minutes walk from the Museum of Modern art and public transportation. It was a safe well lit area.

The location can't be better: a walk of five minutes from atocha Station, the main entrance into Madrid from the airport or any other city in Spain, takes you to the studio. The landlords were waiting for us in front of the building, and inside the studio they had prepared a bottle of red wine and some bocadillos with ham, Chorizo sausage and some more snack. The place is absolutely clean, very quiet given its prime location and vicinity to Lapavies, which is a popular dining and whining area for young Madrilenos and the young at heart. All the big 3 are in close walking distance, with the Centro arte Reina Sofia being just around the corner. Best suited for a group of two or three getting along very well. There's a heating in the studio which you might be happy about in the winter months.

Our stay in Madrid was fantastic, and Mercedes & Agustin were a big part of it. They were so helpful and friendly! They gave us advice on places to visit, not only in Madrid, but on our road trip north as well. Everything they suggested was wonderful! The apartment was beautiful, clean, and everything worked perfectly (laundry, kitchen appliances, etc.). We loved the large and hot shower! The sofa bed was also very comfortable and easy to put away in the mornings. The doorman was also very friendly and helpful. We felt very safe in the neighborhood, and the location was perfect. I can't say enough good things about the apartment and especially the hosts. Mercedes and agustin left us breakfast and coffee for the mornings. There were several grocery stores close by, as well as metro stations. We rented apartments in Barcelona, Granada, Sevilla, and San Sebastian. Madrid (#1)and Granada (#2) were the highlights. Thank you Mercedes and agustin! I can't wait to return to Madrid and estudio dino!

We were delighted with Studio Dino and the welcome and help from owners augustin & Mercedes who greeted us and showed us how everything worked, provided us with a map, and even provided some welcome tapas, fruit and wine.
The Studio was in a quiet street, and it was easy to negotiate with shops, pharmacy, bars, etc, close by. Proximity to Madrid's art triangle and Parco Retiro was superb, and there was a metro at end of the street.
The studio was more than adequate for us as a mature couple, wi fi worked well na fit was nice to have a CD player so we could play our flamenco cd from Seville and fado CD from Lisboa.Response from Gomez Mercedes - 02/05/2012

This studio was even better than the pictures. Very clean and well-appointed with modern good quality interior decor. It is in a quiet residential apartment building where we felt completely safe.
It is very convenient - only 10mins walk to the 3 big art museums, less than 5mins walk from atocha train station. Public transport is nearby, but it is actually an interesting walk to Puerta Del Sol, Plaza Mayor.

Very clean apartment with very helpful and nice owners. Apartment was a bit small for 3 of us but we didn't mind since we didn't spend much time there during the day. Most importantly to us, it was immaculately clean with all amenities right there - fridge, stove, dishwasher, washing machine, all basic kitchen supplies and silverware, nice coffee maker with supply of coffee for the duration of our stay. Very good linens and towels. Very nice and clean bathroom - always important! Secure Wi-Fi.
The apartment is within 5 min walk from the atocha train station, which was great. The airport bus comes and goes from there, day trip to Toledo, trip to Seville, etc. - everything is from that train station and no need to take a cab to get there. At the same time it's a 15 min walk to Plaza Mayor. Cab to Royal Palace cost us €5. Reina Sofia is around the corner and 5 min walk to Prado.
Despite being near the station, the area feels perfectly safe. There is also a doorkeeper downstairs and the double door into the building is permanently locked (we have got a key).
Have to say a word about the owners. They are extremely nice and helpful people. It was a bit of a language barrier in verbal communications but we were able to overcome that. They bought train tickets for our trip to Seville when we could not book them on the Renfe website with our american credit cards. They brought us excellent breakfast when we arrived. They kept one of our bags when we left for Seville so we were able to travel light (someone else stayed at the apartment on those days).
If you are in Madrid for sightseeing in and around the city you can't go wrong with this place. highly recommended!

The studio is absolutelly comfortable and the location is great. Argumosa is a lovely street for walking, full of trees, and several tiny "bares" are scattered around inviting for some tapas. There is a wonderful bookstore-cafe just across the street, with cool people. The area is nice to walk both during the day and at night, and despite the night life around, the apt is not noisy. All the prices in the area are absolutelly decent. Along argumosa street there are also minimarkets just a few steps from the apt, a bakery store, and a large Carrefour about 300 yards away, just opposite Lavapies metro station. The apt itself is bigger than it looks in the pictures, and the room as well as the kitchen and the bathroom have good dimensions and are very comfortable for a couple and even 3 people. The apt has everything you need for your stay, everything working properly, and the building itself is nice, clean, not noisy. Mercedes and agustĂn, the owners, are lovely people always ready to help. So, I do not find anythong to deserve a negative comment. The apt, the building, the neighbourhood and the owners, all of them rank top. My husband and I spent 8 days in November and we enjoy it a lot. As well as Madrid!!

Just back from wonderful trip to Madrid. Studio Dino was an excellent choice, close to the Prado the major art galleries, local shops, restaurants, train station & the airport shuttle bus. The apartment is very well designed, very clean & modern.We had wondered beforehand about the sofa bed but it was extremely comfortable.Mercedes & her husband were very friendly and extremely helpful.On a rainy Friday evening when we were leaving, Augustin very kindly drove us to the station.I would definitely return & have already recommended Studio Dino to family members.

Mercedes & AugustĂn were absolutely wonderful! Upon arrival they had a welcome snack of fruit kabobs, sandwiches, and bottled water. We loved staying in an apartment versus a hotel to give us a more authentic experience in Madrid. The studio is close 5 -7 minutes walk from the Metro, the atocha train station, & several bus stops. There are so many cafes and restaurants surrounding the studio - you eat just about anywhere.
We found a quaint little bar on Calle Mallorca called La Barca - it's a laid back place if you want somewhere to sit and grab a beer.
Overall, the property is clean and very quiet. I loved having the option to bring food back and have a full kitchen at my disposal. The owners provide bed linens & towels for your stay and you are not required to wash them before you leave. My daughter and I travelled to Madrid and stayed at the Studio Dino for 3 Nights. The Studio was very clean, comfortable, and in a safe neighborhood. The location is excellent and there are many Madrid attractions within walking distance including museums, restaurants, and public transportation nearby if you want to venture out. The hosts were warm, gracious, and very welcoming. I would stay there again if I travel back to Madrid and I highly recommend the Studio Dino!

Mercedes was very helpful before and during our stay,answering all my many questions!They were waiting for us when we arrived at the apartment,just a 10min walk from atocha train station (very useful shuttle bus from the airport stops here).They showed us how everything works and there was even milk & water in the fridge along with a few things to eat,which was very thoughtful.We had trouble with the window shutter on the 2nd night but that was promptly fixed.Mercedes offered to come out that night (10pm) to fix it,but we said it was ok to leave it until the morning.We ate in a few nights and found everything we needed in the kitchen to cook & eat with.There are no large mugs,but we bought some for 1euro at the shop across the road and took them home as souvenirs.Great use of space & sofa bed is very comfortable.Great location,Lavapies metro at the end of the road and Carrefore supermarket opposite the metro.Area around the metro can look a little scary at night but my mum & I didn't have any problems.Mercedes & partner arrived at the specified time to check us out and even gave us a lift to the train station to catch our shuttle.We would highly recommend this apartment for anyone visiting Madrid.

We arrived at the studio where Mercedes and augustino were waiting for us. They were welcoming and generous in providing info about both the studio and Madrid. We found the studio to be comfortable and adequately sized for two of us. The lounge/bed was large and comfy. Kitchen could have been a little better equipped with more cutlery, larger cups and a microwave oven. Overall the studio was clean, comfy, adequately sized for two people and very convenient to train station, galleries and most of Madrid's main attractions. On departure, our 'bond' was returned to us without hesitation and augustino drove us and our luggage to the train station, which was very much appreciated! Would definitely stay there again.

We had a great time at this apartment. Although it is not right in the center, it is very close by to all tourist attractions and the metro is very close. It is cosy in a good way, has all the amenities, and many restaurants close by. Be aware that it is right on the edge of a more seedy neighborhood, but we never felt unsafe while staying there. The owners are wonderful. Although they do not speak any English, we were still able to communicate. We had one incident with the washing machine while there, but I would assume it has been fixed. Also the hosts were gracious enough to provide us with breakfast for the next few days. Overall, great experience at a very reasonable rate.

This is a marvelous apartment. Very clean, spacious and centrally located (close to metro and bus lines, but also within walking distance to museums, Plaza Mayor, etc.). The neighborhood has great food, shops and book stores. Mercedes is also an extremely gracious hostess. I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone visiting Madrid!

I stayed at Estudio Dino about 2 months ago with 2 of my girlfriends. The place is great! Very well kept, cozy, and in a very convenient location. The best part of the apartment though are agustin and Mercedes! They were very helpful with information about Madrid (where to watch football matches, restaurants, flamenco, galleries, etc). A great place to stay and great people!

Delightful and convenient apartment for two at a reasonable price in a choice location in Madrid (short walking distance from Museo del Prado and Parque del Retiro). Mercedes is a warm and inviting host who provides an excellent, no-frills service.
The apartment is clean, beautiful and spacious, and you will find plenty of grocery stores, cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood to meet your dining needs.
You should note that the Internet connection in the apartment operates via cable, rather than Wi-Fi, although there is a nearby Starbucks and possibly other local choices for Wi-Fi access.
I would definitely pick the same apartment on my next trip to Madrid.

flat is new and suitable for a couple or three persons. near Reina Sofia and Prado and Thyssen. Nearby a little supermarket where buy beverage and food. There are also many little pubs and places where to eat. Mrs Gomez smiles and is very kind. I strongly reccommend the apartment.

I stayed at Estudio during my visit to Madrid in april 2011. Mercedez and her husband were very cordial and responsive. Email is the best way to reach Mercedes. The studio is a cute unit, and a comfortable stay at a reasonable price. It's located close to the atocha renfe station, the metro, and the historic sights. The street noises at night can be a bother. Some of the amenities provided didn't function as expected: towels had fiber coming off, the ironing machine didn't work, the additional bed was more like a child bed not comfortable for an adult to sleep on. Overall i really enjoyed my stay here and would stay here again. The couple were very sweet and helpful. Iwish i knew Spanish to communicate with them better.

Ha sido una estancia agradable. El estudio está bien amueblado y tiene más o menos de todo. Está muy limpio y está cerca de los museos y del Retiro. Dando un agradable paseo estás cerca del centro histórico.
