Madrid was beautiful and this apartment is in such a great location close to the plazas, parks, market and restaurants. Very comfortable and relaxing. A big fan of Spain!

I am just finishing up a couple night's stay here before traveling onward. I will be returning to this apartment in a few weeks and am so happy that I chose it.
Fernando is an awesome host. He is very patient in answering any questions via email and his English is very good (I also was able to practice my Spanish with him). He waited for my arrival when my plane was late - no problem.
The apartment is small, but you already know that from the description. However, everything is in its place and it is very well designed and decorated. Super clean, really! I also could not believe how quiet it is. I have stayed at other apartments in Madrid and thought you could never have a quiet apartment. This one is.
Very convenient to metro/train station and anywhere you want to walk. Good neighborhood - I felt perfectly safe returning late at night.
Don't hesitate in renting this one.

I decided to book apartments because I was traveling with my 14 year old son, 18 year old niece, and my almost 80 year old mother. It turned out to be more economical, as well as a bit adventuresome. This apartment is in an older, interesting, diverse, local neighborhood which we probably wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. There was a grocery store and plenty of restaurants just around the corner. There was even a vegan store (my niece is a vegan, not easy in Spain). It is convenient to many tourist attractions as well. We walked to Plaza Major and the Prado, and the metro station was just up the hill. It is situated on a small hill which was not so good for my mother because she struggles walking uphill
The apartment itself is in a secure building up one flight of stairs. It is very clean and tastefully decorated. Fernando has made great use of space available. There are two full size beds, and a pull out sofa. My son loved the bed on the loft, as well as the flat screen TV and internet access. The apartment is on the inside of the building facing a mini outdoor opening, so there is no street noise. Fernando is extremely courteous and flexible. He was waiting in the apartment when we arrived by taxi from the airport. I felt more like a local than a tourist living here.

We were extremely satisfied with our stay at Fernando's apartment in Madrid. The apartment is small but very functional and was perfect for 2 adults and our 3 kids; ages 17, 11 and 5. Everyone had a very comfortable place to sleep! The apartment is secure and only a couple of short flights of steps up to its doorway on the 1st floor of the building. The apartment was clean and had everything that we needed for our stay; kitchen utensils & cookware; hair dryer; towels (a few tea towels & wash clothes would have been handy); nespresso machine; flat -screen tv; WiFi; ect. The apartment is not air-conditioned (which shouldn't be expected when travelling in Europe) but stayed perfectly comfortable for us with the ceiling fan on and the windows open at night. We felt very safe and comfortable with this. As for the location, it couldn't have been better. We were close to both anton Martin and Lavapies Metro stops. They were both very convenient and only a short walk away from the apartment. We used the Metro to get to further away destinations or to take the Renfe suburban train. Otherwise, the entire family easily walked to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Gran Via along with going to the Supermarket Carrefour down the street to grocery shop and prepare our own meals. Fernando was very responsive to every single email that I sent to him. He answered all of my questions and even arranged tickets to a bull fight for my husband and Niece. It was quite an experience for them. My husband wasn't a fan; my Niece (17 yrs. Old) loved it. Madrid is unlike anywhere that I have ever travelled; keep an open mind as you take in all of the sights and sounds of the city and really enjoy being a temporary citizen in a fabulous old city.

I spent 2 months in the c/ Esperanza apartment and it was my home away from home. Fernando has thought of every need and made the whole process of renting easy. The building is quiet, clean and safe. Easy walk to mercado, Plaza Mayor, Retiro, Sol, museums and neighborhood has many tapas and coffee bars. I look forward to a return visit.

Everything about this apartment was perfect for our stay in Madrid. It was close to everything we wanted to see (the major museums, parks, plazas, etc.). It was also very easy to access from the airport and bus and train stations. Fernando, our host, was delightful and extremely helpful.
The apartment is spotless, and everything in it is new. All the appliances work perfectly. Just be aware that the flat-top stove is sensitive, and it will beep if you set anything on it while it is not turned on. Fernando has added lots of personal touches, which truly made the apartment cozy and inviting. We highly recommend this apartment, and we would definitely stay here again.
