Located 5min. walk to central avenue Gran Via, and with Chueca Square as the epicentre, neighbourhood Chueca has probably become the most frequented area in Madrid over the last years.
Discover both modern spanish and world cuisine restaurants, as well as a shopping district with trendy cool stores (like Fuencarral pedestrian street). Sunny sidewalk cafes and rooftop bars are places to see and be seen, with fashionable people, or just anybody interested in the vibe of this unique and cosmopolitan spot. For sure, a place to have a drink at night.
Young entrepreneurs run small modern bakeries, hairdressers, clothing boutiques, bookstores, cafes...with lots of character. Find also big supermarkets (Opencor, Dia...) or the remarkable Mercado de San Anton, with its penthouse restaurant.
Being an old neighborhood, you will surely have a taste of the old Madrid: genouine taverns, tapas bars, guitar makers workshops...Find a mixture of tradition and avant-garde in Chueca.
Plaza de Chueca (Chueca Square) is the epicentre of it. Fuencarral, just 5 min. away is a pedestrian street with all the international fashion brands. Staying in Plaza de Chueca means being right in the centre just a 5-10 min. walk to main atractions, such as Gran VĂa, Sol, or Plaza Mayor.

This apartment was perfectly located for walking everywhere in the city. Close to supermarkets and specialty shops so very easy to make yourself at home. Surrounded by bars and restaurants so never short of somewhere to relax and people watch. Highly recommended.

A classy, elegant apartment in the heart of Madrid with high ceiling and sliding doors to separate one of the bedrooms from the living room (hence the loft feel). The owner's taste runs to elegant minimalism without anything being overdone - Stark-designed elements in the bathrooms, white as the overall theme. It's cool and for Madrid quite spacious.
We were travelling with our adolescents sons, that worked well (there are two bedrooms and two showers/toilets etc); the sofa can be converted into a further bed. Also ideal for two couples travelling together.
A great place to relax after sightseeing - the fully equipped, unusually large kitchen (for Spain) allows you to eat "at home" if Spanish dinner timetables are a bit late for your taste. This being said, Madrid is alive on the Chueca square outside (no noise though once you close the windows), and you are in walking distance of all sights and attractions of central Madrid. Enjoy! It's a lively, intense and seductive city and the crisis hasn't broken its vibrancy in the least. A supermarket and a up-market indoor food market with all sorts of delicacies is also next door, as is (expensive) underground parking.
Contrary to american wisdom, you do not always get what you pay for - but here you do. The owner is very helpful and friendly and speaks excellent English (not that common in Spain). I'd definitely go back and can recommend unreservedly. -

Jose is excellent to work with. His apartment is a great place to stay. 4 of us stayed there for a week and really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean, well appointed and had new appliances. It was located in an excellent location for walking and if you need to use a taxi there is always one available within 30-40 feet of the front door. The market next door and on the corner are very convenient and makes it unnecessary to shop anywhere else. Also there are several places to eat and shop in the immediate vicinity of the apartment. Excellent place to stay and Jose is easy to work with. If you are English speaking, he has an excellent command of English.

This loft was everything that was described. Great location, close to a wonderful market. Right on Chueca square. Very clean and spacious. Comfortable beds with nice linens. Towels were just like staying in a four star hotel. Our host was great in contacting us and giving us specific details on check in and always responded quickly to our questions. Kitchen was modern and had everything we needed. We felt lucky to have stayed in this loft!

My husband and I along with our two adult children stayed in this beautiful loft for a week in January 2013. The loft was clean, well equipped and comfortable with ample space and privacy for 4 adults. The owner of the loft, Jose met us at the loft and ran through everything with us including highlights of the area. The area was a perfect base for exploring Madrid - centrally located with the metro just outside the front door. Lots of wonderful shops, cafes and markets in the area. We would recommend this accommodation to others without hesitation!

My travel partner and I stayed here for 4 nights in November 2012 and it suited our needs perfectly. The loft is sits on the second floor over a small but lively square and the Metro station is literally acroos the square from the loft. We were out exploring Madrid all day, every day, but it was so nice to be able to come back in the early evening, have a glass of wine at one of the tables in the square and then go upstairs for a rest before walking to one of the many great restaurants in the area for dinner.
The tall windows allowed for beautiful sunlight when we wanted it and although they open right out on the square so we could open them and let the ambience in, they were completely soundproof when we closed them.
The two bedrooms and bathrooms afforded us each planty of privacy, the kitchen is supplied with everything you would need and there are plenty of extra linens and towels.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was great to be able to come back "home" rather than an impersonal hotel room and the cost was so much lower than if my friend and I had each rented a room at a hotel.

Despite arriving late at night we were greeted by Jose and made to feel right at home. This a fabulously comfortable and stylish apartment with heaps of space . The kitchen and laundry set up works well and the apartment has everything you need.
.It's an easy walk up a flight of stairs and looks out onto Plaza Chueca through 2 sets of floor to ceiling windows. There's always something entertaining going on but apartment is soundproof so you can look but don't have to listen.
The metro is in the plaza, there is also a supermarket, market and tapas bar at the end of the street which is enormously convenient. This is a great location and an easy walk or metro ride to most of Madrid.
We always stay in apartments when we travel and this has been one of the best. Thank you Jose.

We had a great stay at Jose's apartment. It's right in the middle of a happening neighborhood and next to the Metro stop. The place itself is very well done and comfortable. His photography on the walls of the place are an added plus too, I would recommend this place to all my friends and family.

We loved staying in this apartment. Overlooks a beautiful square. Close to underground station. Located in the heart of the city...with restaurants, shops and bars all within walking distance. The apartment itself is clean, with great amenities. Each bedroom with it's own bathroom. We would definitely stay again if ever back in Madrid.

I stayed at the White Loft for a month over the summer of 2009. I wanted to stay in el Centro de Madrid and the Chueca neighborhood was an excellent choice to get the feel of the city but the warmth of a community. It's close to many wonderful attractions, the metro, and also some great restaurants and markets. Everything is within easy reach. The loft was perfect. It had plenty of sunlight, which was very important to me, and was tastefully decorated and furnished. The kitchen was small but had all the appliances and dishes I needed, as well as nice towels and sheets. Really, I didn't need anything else. I was a female alone but felt very, very safe at all times. Internet access was important to me and I never had any issues while I was in town. It's a great floor plan that never makes you feel like you're stuck inside a closet. It has a wonderful energy and I welcomed the chance to come home each day to such a comforting "home away from home." I smile when I think of the White Loft and miss it. I hope to be able to spend another summer there.
