La Latina is a barrio-within-a-barrio ("barrio" is the Spanish word for ward).. Named for Beatriz Galindo, a 15th century-born Spanish university professor better known as "La Latina" for her impressive domination of the Latin language, the exact boundaries of the neighbourhood are a bit of a gray area and unofficial in nature, so it's best just to experiment with exploration!
Quintessentially Spanish, La Latina is most often associated with sites like the neoclassical Real BasĂlica de San Francisco el Grande, a Catholic temple constructed during the 18th century that is now a Spanish national monument. Plaza de la Cebada, one of the oldest squares of Madrid, and the open-air Sunday market of El Rastro, are often used as reference landmarks for the zone identified as La Latina. Plaza Mayor and LavapiĂ©s, another barrio-within-a-barrio, are frequently recognised cut-off points.

We really liked this property, the location was amazing; 2 minuets walk from Plaza Mayor ,5 min walk from Puerta de Sol ,3 minuets walk from a metro station next to grocery store .
The apartment was clean with all the needed amenities and most important thing was the aC in the apartment , it gets hot during summer time (average was 100-105 F during the day )
My experience with Magic rentals property management was excellent from the get go ;starting with the booking process they answered my e-mails promptly and answered all my questions .The staff was professional and courteous Federica the booking agent was very nice helpful and friendly and gave us a cell ph# in case we would encounter any problems or would like to know how to go about Madrid .This is priceless
In a nutshell this property and Magic Rentals comes highly recommended

The apartment was so perfectly located, it made our stay perfect. All the transportation we needed was at our feet, bus, metro, taxi, but we walked everywhere. We were close to all the best Tapa bars and with in easy distance to most major sights. Although it seems like our street would have been full of tourists, it was full of locals. We overlooked San Isidro Church and saw a wedding arrive and depart. On Saturday night a religious procession came through our neighborhood from about 8:00 to 12:00. The show never stopped! We were right by a supermaket but also across the street from a wonderful bakery with incredible fresh treats each morning. We watched a euro cup match with a bunch of locals and toasted a Spanish win. One night we wandered over to Plaza Mayor and watched a ballet performance. The colors may be a bit much and the building does have about 5 keys to get in... but it is wonderful.

We had an excellent time at this apartment which had just enough space for four of us (2 adults, 2 children). The kitchen was perfect for cooking our meals, and it was easy to walk to the shopping market for food. Iris, who checked us in was very friendly and helpful with information about things to do and see. The check-in process was quick and easy. The apartment was extremely clean with washer and drying rack and a well-stocked kitchen. We loved being able to walk easily to the main Metro stations.

We loved the apartment. The location was pretty amazing...tons of tapas bars very close walking distance, as well as squares museums etc. We bought a metro pass and hardly used it. The apartment was clean and they were very hospitable. The only thing that we did not like was that we were told there would be free wireless internet...and it didnt really work. It only worked some days if we stood like right by the door...so that was a bit annoying- everything else was great.

We stayed in this apartment in January. We had never rented an apartment before but this place was superb value. The guys at Magic Rentals met us in their office took us to the apartment and everything was better than expected. We were a group of 4 friends staying for a week. It was bigger than the pictures and I really liked the views of the church, and there were lots of nice touches like a decent TV, shampoos, lots of towels, they even had a mini DVD library free of charge. It was also quiet despite being right in the heart of La Latina which is great for eating and drinking. We walked everywhere and never needed to use the metro. We're planning on coming back here in the summer!
