The barrio of Sol lies at the very centre of Madrid's Centro district, so naturally there are many sites no visitor can miss, starting with the iconic Puerta del Sol square. In fact, the spectacular plaza-called "Gate of the Sun" in Spanish-marks the perfect starting point for any Madrid explorer. Extending outwards, no visitor will be able to resist taking in everything the sleepless neighbourhood has to offer.
The barrio of Sol itself is encapsulated by the city's most prominent streets and squares, including the famed Gran VĂa and the pedestrianised Calle de Preciados, two of Madrid's busiest shopping streets. Muy buen servicio de reserva y entrega de llaves. El apartamento es muy amplio y cĂłmodo para 5 personas, la 6ÂŞ debe ocupar una cama plegable (no la usamos, asĂ que no puedo opinar de su comodidad). No usamos la cocina, pero parecĂa que el menaje era adecuado, aunque la mesa puede quedarse pequeña si más de 3/4 personas se quieren sentar a la vez. Por poner un pero, se empiezan a apreciar desgaste en la vivienda, un cambio de cortinas y pintura la harĂan perfecta. A 20 metros (literal) de la estaciĂłn de metro de Opera.

We enjoyed having this apartment for 11 night stay..very easy to walk to just about everything you want to see in downtown Madrid. It is a walk-up (57 stairs!) so if you know you can handle that, you'll be ok. Furnishings are simple but comfortable...everything you will need is there. Comfortable bed, lots of extra towels & linens. Satellite TV & Wifi worked perfectly.
Lots of restaurants nearby. El Corte Ingles (department store) delicatessan has very good take-out food & Mercado San Miguel is nearby so you won't need to cook but it is nice to have kettle, coffee-pot & full kitchen for breakfast & snacks, etc. There is a small convenience store across the street for basic supplies as well.

Gran experiencia de alquiler. Nos reunimos en Madrid 5 amigas y pudimos alojarnos cómodamente y por un precio muy asequible en la Casa de la Ópera. La localización es inmejorable: una casa antigua pero confortable con encanto, cerca del metro y el punto de partida idóneo tanto para hacer turismo como para dejarse envolver por el ambiente nocturno de Madrid y las compras. El trato de Magic fue muy bueno: se ocuparon de todo sin problemas y fueron muy agradables y simpáticos con nosotras. El piso está en muy buenas condiciones: es amplio y dispone de climatización, muebles cómodos, menaje, toallas... Un placer que seguro repetiremos!

Beware of the three stories with no elevator and narrow stairways. Shoud be included in the apartment description, but is not.

Location!!! Metro, Opera, a short walk to Puerta del Sol and the Royal Palace, two blocks to Gran Via and Plaza Mayor. Old town all around you. Plenty of places to go, plenty of places to eat - by the way the best one was right next door. Shopping nearby. Yet calm and cozy. No problem with WiFi - much better than in hotels :-)

We are a family of 5 and we stayed in this apartment in the summer. We spend a lot of time travelling and we very much enjoyed the views and the balcony. the apartment is in very good place right next to the Opera. We walked to the palace and plaza mayor with no difficulty. We also spend time cooking and we liked very much the wifi and dvd player for the kids. very recommended. Amy and Family.
