THE STAY

Jazz is an outstanding apartment to enjoy a weekend or holiday in the heart of Madrid. Specially bright and quiet, it has an ideal arrangement.

In the living-room, a very comfortable white leather sofa invites us to be carried away by the interpretations of the most notable jazz figures with the amazing CDs collection donated by Chema GarcĂ­a MartĂ­nez, critic for the El PaĂ­s newspaper.

An extraordinary atmosphere related to jazz has been created thanks to pictures, books and posters, some of high artistic and documentary value.

The dining table, strategically placed under the window, will make eve...n more pleasant the dishes cooked in the fully equipped modern kitchen. One will really enjoy the turquoise reflection of its wall. The same colour as a chair from a Café of the past century belonging to the collection “Street chairs” restored by Estancias con Arte.

Some original elements have been preserved, like the entry door and some beams, especially one covered in tiles that along with the wooden floor, gives a unique feeling of comfort.

The jazz notes lightly reach the bedroom that has a very comfortable 160x200cm bed. In the bathroom, one will notice the brightness of the green wall with two jazz musicians’ pictures hanging. The wide shower and the floor are covered with pebble stones giving them a special atmosphere.

Amenities included at Jazz: hot and cold air conditioning, sound system with iPod/iPhone loudspeakers, CD player, wireless Internet, LCD 46” SmartTV, conventional and microwave oven, Express coffee maker, vitro-ceramic stove, refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, iron, juicer, electric kettle, whisk, toaster, hair dryer and high quality bed linen and towels.

THE ART

The different spaces ambiances are set through a collection of pictures of the jazz greatest legends like the pianist Tete Montoliu, the bass Ron Carter or the drummer Art Blakey.

In the living-room, one will notice the large sized picture taken by Javier Nombela that represents the greatness of jazz in the gesture of the trumpet player Enrico Rava, one of the big names of the genre.

One will appreciate the poster advertising the historical concert of the jazz “diva” Sarah Vaughan that took place in Vitoria on the 26th of November 1983.

Additional Location Information

Jazz is located on the third floor of a historical building, with elevator, in the musical heart of Madrid. A few meters away from the Teatro Real and very close to some of the most important jazz clubs, like the Café Central.

It has a privileged location, a few steps away from the Royal Palace, Plaza de Oriente square, the Almudena Cathedral, Plaza Mayor square, Puerta del Sol and Gran VĂ­a.

A few meters away, one will find the famous pedestrian street Calle Arenal, running between the Plaza de Ă“pera square and the Puerta del Sol, full of traditional shops. This area, typical for its network of streets full of restaurants of all kinds and tapas bars, provides the visitors with a gastronomic and cultural experience in the heart of Madrid.

The neighbourhood is ideal for pleasant walks. It also enjoys excellent bus and metro connections, with an interchange station with various underground and suburb trains lines in Puerta del Sol. If you are coming by car, the area has a car park in the Plaza de Oriente square.

The security deposit is to be left by credit card to the Estancias con Arte assistant who will welcome you to the apartment through a pre-authorization operation in which the amount will NOT be charged NOR retained on the credit card, but only made available in case it needs to be charged after check-out. This operation will be cancelled 48-72 hours after check-out. We advise all our clients to check with their bank prior to their arrival if their credit card allows operations of at least 300 €.

  We stayed one week in this charming apartment, located in a lovely old building, just a few steps from the Opera. The spaces are modern and bright, furnished well from bed to linens to kitchenware. We enjoyed the fabulous music collection and photographs of jazz greats. Ingrid and Belen of Estancias Con arte are gracious hosts. One extremely nice gesture was the basket of cheese/fruit, coffee/tea, milk and juice -- much appreciated by jet-lagged travelers! Ingrid and colleagues also responded quickly to our questions by email and phone. Highly recommended!

  La mejor zona de Madrid. El apartamento es muy nuevo, con un estilo muy moderno y es muy amplio. Me encantó la limpieza y lo equipado que está (hasta hay una increíble colección de cds) Muy cerca de todo.
