We are an extended family consisting of grandmother, daughter, and 4 grandchildren, (ages 16 to 21), who spent a wonderful spring break holiday in Madrid. This apartment is very conveniently located--within 10-20 minute walking distance to most major sites, and the Opera Metro station is a mere two blocks away. There is a fully functioning kitchen (we cooked all breakfasts and two dinners,) great bathrooms and showers, and there is nice space for privacy as well as family time in the main rooms. It is in a very secure building, and there are small markets nearby from which to purchase food. The larger supermarket (El Corte Ingles) is only a ten minute walk away at most. This apartment would also work well for 3 couples. It does require walking up a double flight of stairs, so it is not easily accessible to those with mobility issues.

The location is right next to the Palace and within walking distance to Plaza Mayor and the Market. The Opera Metro Station is within 2 minutes from the apartment. Because it is located on the street, you could not open the windows for airflow through out the narrow apartment. There is no air conditioning in this unit.

I have contacted management many times after I got back to the us regarding the apartment where we stayed ( since it was dirty, things were broken) and I have yet to receive an answer. I had initially contacted them while in Madrid and they did not do anything. I will be posting other reviews on-line since I am shocked at the lack of response.

First, this apartment is exactly as represented in the web site photos. Staying in the apt. were 3 adult women.
The apt. is in an excellent location...Opera Metro was less than a 5 minute walk, a small convinience store was a few doors away and Plaza Oriente was a block away. McDonalds, Burger Kings and a wonderful bakery/coffee shop near the metro stop. The neighborhood felt very safe. Little auto traffic on the street and with the windows open, the apartment was still quiet. No noise from neighboring apartments.
The rental company agent was at the apartment within minutes of our arrival. Our driver called the agency for us from his cell phone as we left the airport. The only problem was with the heat. Although the agent explained how to use the radiators and we thought we understood his instructions, we never got it to work. It was a little chilly a couple of nights, but not enough for us to bother calling for further instructions.
The apt. was clean; everything worked (I'm sure the heat would have worked if the dummies trying to operate it would have paid closer attention to the instructions!) and the water pressure was great!.
The beds had "memory foam" mattresses. For me, it was firm, but fine. One daughter complained that it made her sweat. We eliminated the problem by placing a towel under the sheet. Enjoyed the down duvet covers!
There was a TV, but we never used it. The washer and dryer were our best friends!
If ever in Madrid again, I would again rent this apartment from Friendly Rentals. J. Taylor, Houston, Texas -

It was a great vacation for all the family, the location of the apartment, the space and confort were just perfect.! It really felt like a home away from home!!
