The apartment was very nice and comfortable. However we lacked some of the basics such as toilet paper and basic cooking ingredients.

Lovely apartment on pedestrianised street and easy walking distance to the three big art galleries. Booked this apartment as it offered two double bedrooms and two bathrooms and near to the art. On quiet end of Heurtas and with the bedrooms being at the back of the apartment this meant there was no street noise, though some sound from other residents in the block.
Spacious living room and nice to be able to relax on the sofa after tourism and before an evening out. Tv had only Spanish speaking channels but that's a minor quibble. Small kitchen fully kitted out with decent fridge, oven etc. Plenty of grocery stores nearby though really we only wanted breakfast in. Fair choice of restaurants nearby and jazz bar directly opposite.
You have to go to the office to collect the keys then make your own way to the apartment. No direct metro to the office from the airport so took a taxi which was about 35 euros. On the return discovered there was a bus to atocha station for two euros (and it would be possible for one person to wait here near to the apartment while the other checked in at the office). Directions easy to follow but had a bit of trouble getting in as the door lock had a little knack to it. Resolved after a call to the office. No loo roll in one bathroom and too late realised that one of the beds not made up. Office very apologetic when called the next morning and house-keeping resolved - an assumption had been made that two people staying would be sharing a room.
Apart from this hiccough it was a great base, possible to walk just about everywhere but a tube station a few minutes walk. A good tip is to walk to atocha to leave luggage for the final day's tourism.
Overall a good central location and the chance to relax in a comfortable apartment.
