We loved our apartment in Madrid. The location (near Retiro Park) was both central, yet in a secluded and up-scale neighborhood where we always felt secure, and the apartment was quiet. There were many restaurants around and also little shops where we could buy our food, and some Churches. The location was ideal. We were disappointed that the air conditioning only worked from 12 noon until Midnight (since it was advertised "full air conditioning". (It was around 40 degrees!) Some of the furniture was shabby and definitely needed to be replaced, but when we called the management to fix things, they came immediately and did fix it.We are disappointed that we still have not received the security deposit back and it's been over a month.

We stayed in Retiro II for ten days the latter part of June during a 100 degree F hot spell. While the apartment was advertised as having air conditioning, the building shuts it off at 11PM. Opening the windows afforded no relief and sleeping was extremely uncomfortable. I just don't know how you can advertise this apartment as air conditioned! Also, we arrived on a holiday and most stores were closed. After finding no toilet tissue in the apartment we spent the entire afternoon walking around looking for an open store. We got no help from the book left in the apartment that is supposed to give you valuable info on the area, etc. While the apartment was in a wonderful area, I don't think we would stay there again. I also don't think we'd use Friendly Rentals again as they were not at all sympathetic to our issues.

A complete apartment, quiet place but very nearby two metro stations and Retiro park. Plenty of comfort inside and quality furniture/bathrooms. Take your own kitchen towels, there was only one handtowel and no glass towel. Little store on 50 meters (go right and then on corner to the left). We'll go back for sure!

The location is great, nice area for shopping and dinning and away from the crowd.
The apartment appear not as good as the pictures but is very clean and quiet. we enjoy our stay.
If the check in process can do at the apartment will be much better so that we don't need to carry all our luggage to the office in town and get back to the apartment, save a lot of trouble.
