A penthouse with a large terrace, views of the Royal Palace and Sabatini Gardens, an extremely privileged position in the area surrounding Plaza de Oriente, where one will only find large classical buildings with private homes alongside the Royal Theatre.

The chance to enjoy such a location will undoubtedly make your stay in the city so pleasurable as to be unforgettable. Just being able to admire the magnificently clear skies of Madrid and the views of the Royal Palace and the Campo del Moro will be a memorable experience.

The apartment:

The apartment is situated in a historical aristocratic building, beautifully renovated... while maintaining the essence of the original construction; a curious feature of the building is the elevator, an antique one of a kind rarely found nowadays, since the majority of these large buildings, in which originally there were only a few very large dwellings, have now been converted into modern apartments, with the interior of the building itself also having been renovated.

The property is in fact a penthouse, 80 square metres in size with a 35-square-metre terrace, and has room for four people; there is one independent bedroom and a bathroom.

The apartment is located on the fifth floor of the building and it should be pointed out that the elevator only goes up to the fourth floor. From thereon one climbs up a narrow staircase with not too many steps to reach the old-fashioned lofts where the property is situated.

An important feature of the apartment is the particular spaciousness of the main rooms such as the living room and the bedroom. They are also both very bright, not only because of the light that floods in from outside but also because the walls are practically completely made up of large, wide double-glazed windows, fitted with fine curtains in order to filter the brightness and blinds to close the light out completely.

The living room is simple and very practical, designed with comfort in mind. The furniture has been limited to the essentials: a fine L-shaped sofa where one can relax in comfort and which can also be turned into a bed, a large, modern flat-screen television and DVD player, and a dining area surrounded by windows, with a round table for four people.

The bedroom is also particularly spacious; it has a double bed, bedside tables with lamps and a large built-in wardrobe.

The kitchen is small but very well-equipped with all modern comforts, including a dishwasher, washing machine, and both microwave and conventional ovens. The bathroom has a shower and bathtub and is fitted with a comfy heated towel rail.

  We stayed here in glorious weather and were able to make full use of the large terrace. The apartment was very clean and well appointed. The only thing lacking was a more powerful shower. Fernando met us and was very helpful. All the arrangements went very smoothly. The apartment is in a superb location near restaurants, bars shops etc. We were able to watch the Changing of the Guard at the Palace from our terrace. There is a great artisan bread shop in the square in front of the apartment, and plenty of other food shops nearby. We would not stay any where else in Madrid. A really comfortable apartment.

  Very nice apartment. Fantastic location and terrace. Kitchen quite small and under-equipped for actually cooking and serving meals or dinner entertaining.
