This two story modern apartment has a terrace and all of the necessities anyone could expect. It is a delight in the center of Madrid, in the Barrio de las Letras, just five minutes walking distance from the Prado Museum and the famous Neptune fountain. It´s superb location is ideal for tourism and relaxation. There are plenty of leisure activities since the neighborhood is filled with restaurants and cafes of all styles and tastes.

An impressive penthouse, duplex carefully designed and furnished so your stay will be the most comfortable and rewarding possible. Furthermore, the apartment is designed with such exquisite taste and sensi...bility that the guests will feel more comfortable here than in their own home.

The apartment:

The apartment has capacity for 10 people plus a young child up to 2 years old. There are four double bedrooms and three complete bathrooms. The 250 squared meters will convert the stay for the whole family into an unforgettable vacation in Madrid.

This spacious duplex does not lack any detail, decorated very tastefully with the best quality. Dark wood flooring is spread throughout the house, except for the marvelous original clay tiles in the bathrooms and on the terrace and the beautiful stone flooring in the kitchen. It is important to emphasize that this is an old building, therefore it DOES NOT HAVE AN ELEVATOR, although without a doubt, the three story climb is definitely worth it.

From the entrance hall, you access a point where the grand iron staircase with a wooden banister takes you up to the second floor or where the lower level begins. On the lower level there is a hallway leading to all four bedrooms. There is also a bathroom and an en-suite bathroom in the master bedroom on the lower level. Also definitely worth mentioning are the colorfully painted pastel rooms combined with mahogany wood that reminisce those of grandiose Italian hotels and villas with modern steel lamps and modern furniture, striped stylish headboards and the most modern bathroom accessories. Everything that one would choose for his or her own home.

All of the four double bedrooms have queen sized beds of different styles. The spacious master bedroom is painted in blue and has an en-suite bathroom with a spectacular ceramic bathtub and a separate wooden based shower with a glass partition. On the upper floor, you´ll find the bright living room due to the windows on both sides. The 50 square meter terrace connects to the living room. The terrace is a spacious multipurpose area where some may choose to sunbathe, others may choose to read and others choose to dine all harmoniously at the same time. A delight. Furthermore, in this same area there is an extending table that can seat up to 10 people to have breakfast, lunch or dinner without a problem.

The kitchen is also located on the top floor. The impeccable ultra modern red passion colored kitchen with old iron imitation stone flooring is very tasteful combining once again comfort and spaciousness. Finally, the kitchen is fully equipped with all the most modern appliances.

The third full bathroom is also located upstairs, thus there is no need to be climbing up and down the stairs to use the restroom.

The 50 square meter terrace is partly covered with a wooden teak roof. There is a table and chairs for eating or just for playing cards. The uncovered part of the terrace is ideal for sunbathing or for just contemplating the infamous sky of Madrid. The terrace also has a shower for those sizzling summer days. The terrace has beautiful plants, flowers and red colored walls which give it privacy and a Mediterranean essence. This is, without a doubt, a luxury in the center of Madrid.

  Wonderful Villa in downtown

  This villa was everything we had expected and more. The 2 story condo was located on the top (4th) floor of the bldg. It was quiet within the building but the streets were quite loud with people late at night. The 4 bedrooms were comfortable and easily slept our group of 9. The bathrooms were a little awkward. One was in a bedroom with clear glass shower and toilet rooms so it was not very private since we had 3 kids sharing that bedroom. The second bathroom was in another bedroom. This bathroom was the only room that felt it needed remodeling. The paint was peeling and the bathroom smelled of odor. The third bathroom upstairs was very nice but just a bit of a walk since all the bedrooms are downstairs. However, none of this was really that big of a deal and we really enjoyed our stay. The furniture was comfortable although not super soft. It felt very Ikea. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking although the dishes and cups were kept in a cupboard that was completely outside of the kitchen and across the family room. Not very convenient but we didn't do a lot of cooking there anyway. The terrace was beautiful and had a great large table. The indoor dining had two tables which seated all of us just fine. The villa felt very clean and the bedding was clean and comfortable.
  
  The location was just a short walk to downtown, the palace, parks, restaurants and much more. We read great reviews about the restaurant just below our villa and it turned out to be very delicious paella. Definitely eat there if you stay here. They even boxed it up so we could take it upstairs and eat in the comfort of our home. Although the food was a little pricey.
  
  Overall, the location was great. The management company had originally told us we had to go to their office to pick up the keys. However, we would have had to take 3 taxis to fit all of us (to the office and then again to the villa) and it was raining so they agreed to meet us at the villa with the keys. I think they should do this for every customer because it's a pain to drag your luggage to an office and then to the villa. Plus costly if you're taking taxis to both places. That's the last thing you want to do when you arrive from a long commute. But they did meet us at the home and we appreciated it. When we had any issues, they responded very quickly.
  
  I would recommend this home to anyone. It was a nice place and met all of our needs very nicely.

  Squalor-close to Prado

  This was by far the filthiest place I have ever been in. Stained linens, brocken toilet, brocken lamps(littereally shattered), floors so dirty that they turned your feet black, spatters of ??? on the walls. It was so fithy that I was nauseated. "Friendly Rentals" solution to the problem was to have a cleaning crew come in for 4 hour cleaning. This helped a bit but they truely need to shut it down and do some major repair and maintenance. Dispite their aggreement that the place was in terrible condition they refused to give me my money back or a discount. They never returned to fix several brocken pieces of furniture or remove the shattered lamp.

  Terrible Experience

  Upon arrival, only two of the three toilets were working and only one of the three showers. The drier did not work. The apartment was very dirty. It took two weeks out of a four week stay to rectify the problems. No garbage pails for exterior disposal. The lone TV never worked. For two of the four bedrooms, the exterior noise level is so bad that even ear plugs do not work. For the other two bedrooms, the noise from the ground flor restaurant is also bad. The first floor entry door to the apartment building is a cage that requires key entry both upon entry and exit. The owner complained about the water usage because we showered every day!
