AtlantaFantastic Cabin and Service!
Left on 03/14/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We rented this cabin last weekend for a last-minute ski trip, and we couldn't have been more happy with the entire experience! When booking, Lisa was very quick to respond and provided all the information we were looking for. When we arrived, we were so pleasantly surprised at how how everything is so neatly organized and labeled for ease of use. Every light switch tells what it operates. The kitchen cabinets and even the cabinets in the bedrooms are labeled to let you know where everything is. Emergency info is located clearly on the refrigerator. I love these kinds of details because it shows that the owners are truly interested in making your stay as nice and safe as possible. They even left water bottles with tea and hot chocolate packets for us, which was a very nice touch! But the service doesn't stop there. We had a few questions when we arrived, and Lisa was very quick to respond with help and assistance. She made it feel like she really had our best interests at heart, and that made the experience that much better. I can honestly say that we've never had as good an experience at a rental cabin as we had at altitude adjustment, and we've been to a lot. Next time we go to Cataloochee, we'll be seeing if this one is available first! Oh, by the way, for skiing, the location can't be beat! It's on the main road that leads to the ski area, just a 3-4 mile drive up the hill and you're there. Can't ask for a better location.

Toccoa, GeorgiaAn altitude to help the attitude and get life's path back on the
Left on 02/12/2013 for a stay in February 2013
My family and I have chosen to stay at one of the most peaceful, decorative (with bears and deer decor, as one should expect in the "Great Smoky Mountains), and all the amenities one should need in a home away from home, but found in a cabin. I almost hesitate to call it a cabin. It's a vacation home. You feel the warmth of a touch of home when you enter the cabin. It is located in a quiet and peaceful area and close to the Cataloochee Ski Resort, Tube World & Ghost Town (open in the summer) plus lots of interesting shops in Maggie Valley. We love to eat breakfast at Joey's Pancake House (don't miss out on the best pancakes in the world, as is our and many other folks opinion.) Also, Cherokee, home of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Tribe is just a few miles away, as is the Casino and great restaurants located within it such as Paula Dean's and Ruth Kriss steaks. My daughter and husband treated me out for my birthday and this just added more pleasure to our vacation. I would refer anyone and everyone to have our experience at altitude adjustment and see if it doesn't help your attitude too! It will be noticed by friends and family that you are more relaxed and have had a well deserved vacation. After all, who is more important than you who takes care of everyone else! Good choice and have fun if you do choose to stay like we did. We will be back again!
Thanks to Lisa and Rick Freedman! We love your cabin/home. -

Hollywood, FloridaClose to the sky resort
Left on 01/16/2013 for a stay in January 2013
It is close to the sky resort, there were two small beds and one queen bed (for a total of two bedrooms. We were a total of six and two of us slept downstairs (one on a sofa-bed) and the other on an inflatable bed.
It is confortale enough for 4 adults and maybe kids, maybe not for 6 adults but we didnt have issues at all, the first floor tends to be cold at night but the property had all you need.
The only reason I would not give it a five is because of the bed situation for adults. I would definitely go back with a max of four next time.
The views are great and the kitchen was accomodating as well.Response from Lisa Freedman - 01/26/2013
Owner
Thank you for your kind review. I did want to make the correction that it is a king-sized bed in our master bedroom and two twin beds with an additional twin-sized trundle bed in our second bedroom (or the option of alternatively being set up into a king bed arrangement with twin trundle bed). I also wanted to add that in addition to the queen-sized pullout sofa, there is a twin-sized futon downstairs (as a better alternative to the inflatable beds that we also provide).
Thank you again!

Left on 07/31/2012 for a stay in July 2012
You will not find a place with more details taken care of, we spent our 25th anniversary here with my wife's Sister and Brother-in-law. 5 stars does not do justice to this cabin with a great view and close to so many attractions, walking distance to Ghost Town which is fast on its way to the great attraction it once was. My brother-in-law has been in Maggie Valley at least six times and fell in love with this place as did we. The owners have left no details uncovered and you will find yourself drawn to the front porch every morning with coffee in tow. Dont forget to visit Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, Burnsville, Waynesville downtowns and a trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Pisgah Inn for lunch and one of the best views of the smokies. Harrah's is nice if you gamble from time to time as I do in Cherokee

Left on 02/27/2012 for a stay in February 2012
Thanks to Lisa and Rick they have created the Home away from Home. The kids enjoyed the game room and the huge selection of movies. This place was perfect for us since we were skiing at the resort at the top of the mountain. We were able to ski, come back to rest and then go back. We enjoyed breakfast on the front deck looking out at the beautiful view. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. I was very Happy with my stay at the cabin and hope to come back soon. A Beautiful place to stay.

Left on 12/20/2011 for a stay in December 2011
Hey Lisa and Rich,
I just wanted to say that my family had an incredible time at your vacation home.
It was just what we needed. :)
We enjoyed many of the activities in the surrounding areas from Cherokee to ashville and the Biltmore House.
The different restaurants on Soco Road were fun to try every day too.
I think everyone voted Joey's Pancake house as the big winner.
Your home is very beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed the views and the downtime in front of the fireplace and on the balcony. What great mental therapy.
My wife enjoyed doing her morning devotional in front of the fireplace with a cup of coffee. At night my oldest daughter and my son played their guitars in front of the fireplace. In the mornings my youngest daughter couldn't get enough of the view from the balcony as the sun was rising. She took almost 100 pictures of that view. :)
Thanks again for the opportunity to use your home.
We loved it.
Sincerely,
Mike

Wellsburg WVThe Perfect Place to stay in Maggie Valley
Left on 07/11/2011 for a stay in June 2011
As soon as we walked in, we felt right at home. The home was spotless(thanks a million to the housekeeper), the beds were comfortable, the kitchen is well equiped if you were cooking(we ate out the whole time, lol). We rode our motorcycles here and it was wonderful having a garage to park them in. We couldn't have had a better place to stay. Altitude adjustment is the perfect location, for wherever you want to go, do, or see! There was alot of laughter while sitting on the deck and as we watched the clouds roll across the mountains. As we like to say "what happens in Maggie Valley, stays in Maggie Valley"!
I would like to thank Lisa for welcoming us into her "home". Words cannot express the wonderful time we had here. We hated to leave, but the memories will last a lifetime. Thanks again from The WV Crew, Paula & Michael M.,PegLeg & Ronnie C., Cindy & Rod P. -

Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us! This was our first mountain vacation, and we loved every single minute of it. Maggie Valley was lovely, and Altitude Adjustment was the perfect cabin. You have converted a Disney family into a Maggie Valley skiing, tubing, "Dixie Stampede" family. We hardly knew that the older kids were even here (they loved the basement getaway so much!). And our youngest kids had fun games and books to keep them entertained. No one ever asked to watch any TV!! Many years from now, when we're remembering the great times of our lives, we'll remember Maggie Valley and Altitude Adjustment.
Thank you!

Tybee Island, GAA Wonderful Mountain Getaway in a Beautiful Log Cabin with All t
Left on 05/08/2010 for a stay in April 2010
Thank you for our fourth wonderful getaway in your beautiful mountain
cabin. Your vacation setting is perfect for families and your hospitality is
great! The views from the front porch were so breathtaking that we didn’t
want to come inside!
The location is close to restaurants and not far from Cherokee and the
casino.
You have everything for a family from the fully equipped kitchen to dvd's
and games.
The children especially enjoyed the downstairs as their own play area. We
sincerely appreciate all the extra details and comforts you provided to make
our stay a great one. We again loved the peaceful tranquility of sitting in the
rocking chairs on the porch overlooking the amazing mountains.
I have a hard time finding comfortable beds even in good hotels but the
king size beds in both the Master bedroom and the second bedroom were
wonderful.
The mountain air, amazing walking trails and beautiful cabin all helped us
enjoy a wonderfully restful vacation. During the day we swam in the
Community swimming pool in Waynesville and we walked around this
picturesque little town. We also explored the small Maggie Valley shops and
Lake Junaluska.
We look forward to coming back. Thanks for sharing your little piece of
heaven with us.

Left on 05/07/2010 for a stay in November 2009
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cabin again. We felt right at home when we walked in the door. Your home is warm and inviting and has everything anyone could ask for. The cabin is decorated so cute and everything was so clean. We enjoyed working with you. Your were always so helpful anytime we had a question. We enjoyed our time on the deck. The views were just amazing and we enjoyed hearing the bells from St. Margaret's Church. It was a very peaceful and relaxing vacation. From reading, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and doing some jogging around Lake Junaluska. Having access to the Internet was very helpful.
The location of the cabin is close to all the things that we needed.
We will be back again.
Thanks again, Mike and Kathy
