      Fabulously Peaceful!!

Left on 05/21/2013 for a stay in May 2013

Thanks to Tom and Sue we experienced a most fabulous birthday celebration in this beautifully decorated cabin! The wrap around porch allowed us peaceful scenes as we sipped our coffee while sitting in rocking chairs. The Rhododendron flowers which were in full dazzling bloom and gave us such joy to view.
The cabin was spacious and in neat repair, in good order and in a glorious setting giving it a comfortable home-like atmosphere.
The kitchen had any appliance one might need to cook, if one is so inclined. The bed was comfy as well.

The only thing I did not care about was being asked to strip the bed, take out the trash and to put a load of towels in the washer, seeing I had paid a hefty cleaning fee and it was my vacation.
Yet, I still say thanks for the birthday cake and making our stay most memorable.

      Peaceful, comforting, rewewing!

Left on 03/21/2013 for a stay in March 2013

I stayed at cabin III by myself for some much needed time to just be alone and fill back up my very empty cup. It was just what I needed.
The owners had a woman meet me and guide me right up to the cabin.
Everything from the wrap around porch to the fireplaces, hot tub facing a waterfall, and the surrounding woods was so beautiful. The beds were so comfortable with cozy quilts and they had even baked me homemade chocolate chip cookies. I soaked up the warmth of the atmosphere, the loving decorative touches, and a feeling of being alone but safe and knowing any needs would be taken care of with just a quick phone call. I'll definately be coming back! Highly recommend it!

Second time visit to Creek 'n Woods III

Left on 02/28/2013 for a stay in February 2013

For the second year in a row we chose to visit Maggie Valley and stay at the Creek 'n Woods III. Last year we had an amazing time snowboarding and enjoying the mountains so we had to come back.

Tom and Sue provide a wonderful place to stay with true hospitality. They met us in the valley and drove us up the mountain to the cabin, taking the guesswork out of getting up the mountain. Each time they walked us through the cabin and all the bells and whistles, making sure we knew where everything was and how it all worked. I can't say enough about the quality of the service they provides. Wonderful people with a beautiful cabin. Don't hesitate to get in touch with them!

My friends and I stayed here for my birthday. From day one when I first contacted the Knapko's they were super friendly and very eager to help whenever I had questions or concerns. The cabin was very reasonably priced and very clean. We spent our days snowboarding at nearby Catalooche. We did not have a lengthy stay, but enjoyed every minute and would definitely recommend to friends!

We are delighted as always to provide cabins that are perfect for friends and families to gather. Cataloochee Ski Resort is no more than 15 minutes from this cabin, and the skiing and snowboarding are terrific. Do not be concerned about the lack of snow in the valley or on the roads(no snow on the roads is a very good thing) because the ski resort is on top of the mountain and has top of the line snow making equipment. With really colder temperatures ahead, the skiing and snowboarding at Cataloochee, as well as tubing at Tony's Tube World and the newly opened Fie Top Flume, will be terrific. Come and see for yourself!

Wonderful alternative to Creek n' Woods II

Left on 12/13/2012 for a stay in October 2012

Twice a year, for 7+ yrs now, I and my friends have been enjoying the Crk n' Wds II cabin for long wkend getaways. Leaving the hustle & bustle of atlanta, Ga, for the peace and quiet of the Maggie Valley, NC area. The wkend of our recent Fall trip, II was booked and we decided to try III. We weren't disappointed. Same excellent accommodations as we were used to at II. And what a view from any spot on the wrapping porch. Liked it so much, we're coming back to III in the Spring, 2013. The care and attention to detail we receive from the Knapko's is 2nd to none. We feel more like family. If there is something we need, to say prepare a meal, and we can't find it in the cabin (which has been rare), we know we can give the Knapko's a quick call, and if they have it, they'll deliver it to us. What more can one ask for. I highly recommend a stay with Creek n' Woods. You won't regret it!

It was beautiful, relaxing, fun, and private.

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in October 2012

6 of us "older" girls stayed for 4 nights and we had a wonderful time. The cabin was extremely nice, clean, well-equipped. I couldn't believe there was so much grocery items there. Obvioulsy, the tenants have a "pay it forward" mind set. Rather than taking some items home or throwing them away, they leave them for the next ones. As nice and clean as the facility was, we weren't dubious about using anything that was left. The price of the cabin is very reasonable. There were plenty of bed linens, towels, paper goods, etc. The cabin sits up on the side of a mountain and is not really close to any other cabins. We could use the wonderful hot tub without feeling we were being spied on. (At our age, we are shy). Having to go upstairs to 2 of the bedrooms was a little disconcerting, but we let the two older girls have the downstairs bedroom. The leaves were absolutely beautiful. We went over to Cherokee to the casino and over to ashville for the Biltmore Estates, and over to Waynesville for unique shopping. All were in easy distance. Would definitely recommend this area and this particular cabin to anyone, including families with kids. A raccoon visited us on the deck each morning. We kept our distance, but really enjoyed watching him. (We learned not to leave trash bags outside). Tom and Sue are wonderful to work with. They are so naturally friendly and helpful.

We have stayed several nights in the Creek'n Woods III for the last two years in July. This place is too wonderful to describe. It is on top the mountain, wrap around porch with waterfall, gacuzzi, gas grill, rocking chairs. We enjoyed so much sitting on the porch. The house has a gas fireplace and is so nice and relaxing. We have never rented from anyone as nice and hospitable as Tom and Sue Knapko. They go the extra mile to make sure your vacation is wonderful. You feel at home the time you enter the house. You find homemade chocolate chip cookies, jelly, Starbucks coffee.etc. We will definately return to Creek n Woods again and again. Upon arrival, we were greeted like family and shown all the features of the house. Prior to our arrival, we were told that all we needed to bring were a few groceries and our clothes, I thought there is no way, surely I misunderstood. However, they were right! There are games, Dvd's, books, washing powders, spices, hot tub towels, cable TV in all rooms, wireless internet and even homemade cookies in the cookie jar. We felt like we were visiting family for the weekend. The hot tub, waterfall and fireplace made for a nice evening after a day at the ski slopes. Tom and Sue made sure that we had the best weekend ever. They even filled our special request for "snow!"

We can't say enough about our visit, other than we are ready to plan our next trip. We highly recommend Creek n Woods and you will too!. Thanks tom and sue!

      Cozy, Welcoming Cabin

Left on 01/17/2012 for a stay in January 2012

Our stay began with the owners, Tom and Sue, leading us up the snowy mountain to the cabin. The drive was followed up with a tour of the cabin, which had a great porch, hot tub, stocked kitchen, large bedrooms, and even holiday decorations including a Christmas tree. Sue had even baked us cookies! Our group of 4 were slept comfortably on the king and queen sized beds (all outfitted with very nice Tempurpedic-like mattress pads), though the house could easily accommodate 6-8 people. We did the Drive, Slide, and Stay package, which was a fantastic deal that included our stay at the cabin plus 2 days of skiing passes and equipment rental at the Cataloochee Ski area (www.cataloochee.com). We definitely hope to return to the Creek 'n Woods for our next ski trip!

This cabin was very well stocked with supplies that you do not usually see in rental cabins. For example the remote stopped working but they made sure to have extra batteries on hand. It is a very nice cabin in a great location. Tom and Sue are very friendly and accomodating. They even met us in town when we arrived to show us exactly where the cabin was located. They seemed to think of pretty much everything. We will definitely come back.

The Knapkos make it so easy. They add a personal touch that is so rare in today's world. The house is very comfortable, always clean, and is stocked with all essentials needed for a weekend (or longer) away. The location has easy accessibility and there a number of good places to eat and shop nearby. We enjoyed The Garlic Knots (pizza) and as always, J. Arthur's (steaks)which are both in Maggie Valley. Waynesville is minutes away and offers the Sweet Onion Restaurant, a mall, and any other sevices needed.

After staying in one of your other cabins I unknowinly thought that it couldn't get any better. Not only was I wrong but I was blown away by your beautiful cabin and amazingly serene location. It was only made better by your hospitality. The fresh baked cookies for the kids, bottle of wine for the parents and the homemade peach jam for all was a heart felt touch. We spent most of our time sitting by the waterfall outside on the porch when we weren't in town conquering new adventures. I was surprised at how much there was to do in the area. We ran out of time before I'd reached the middle of my list. Which only means we will be back to enjoy your "tree house". Every detail in this cabin was thought of complete with fully stocked kitchen and your hard work was truly appreciated. God willing we'll see you in the winter. The Knapko's were the nicest people we have ever rented from.He kept in contact with us from the day that we viewed the cabin, until the time that we arrived for our stay, and than after we returned home. His hospitality was great. The cabin is gorgeous, and very clean. The amenities were super. We had everything we needed, just to walk in enjoy. We loved everything about the vacation. We will definately vacation with them again.(and real soon)We have certainly never experienced a more enjoyable vacation, or a more hospitable person to rent from than the Knapko's. There was cookies and wine waiting for us when we arrived. The only thing that wasn't perfect about this vacation is that it was just too Short1..We traveled with 4 other adults.Everyone loved the cabin, the porches, the waterfall, the jacuzzi, the location and the great friendly service that we received.

      Fall in Maggie Valley

Left on 02/10/2011 for a stay in October 2010

My husband and I spent our 39th anniversary at Creek 'n Woods III last October. We wanted to experience the beauty of the mountains in the fall.

Sue met us in the valley and drove us up the mountain to the house. She informed us they called # III "the chicken house" due to its cute decor. The pictures don't do it justice. The wrap around porch with rockers and tables let us spend time outside just enjoying the sun rising over the mountain. The hot tub and man made waterfall were so relaxing.
The kitchen was completely stocked with lots of staples and every pot, pan or dish imaginable. Sue had made us some wonderful chocolate chip cookies to welcome us. The house was very clean and supplied with everything you could possibly need. It is a lovely cabin with a "home feeling". We only used the bottom floor since it was just the two of us, but there is plenty of room upstairs for a larger family.

We spent the days exploring the beautiful mountains and in the evening we loved coming back to "roost" in the chicken house. When we return to Maggie Valley we will certainly be calling Tom and Sue at Creek 'n Woods.

      Lovely Thanksgiving with Family

Left on 02/10/2011 for a stay in November 2010

The Knapko's met us at a gas station so that we could follow them to the cabin. They were a very nice couple. They showed us around the cabin, told us we're welcome to use what's there (including food), showed us how to operate the awesome hot tub on the deck, and made sure we were comfortable with everything before we left. They left us a cookie jar full of homemade chocolate chip cookies that were to die for! We were able to cook Thanksgiving dinner there without bringing our entire kitchen with us... they even had a roaster. Bring stuff to make waffles because they have a great waffle maker.

      The only drawbacks are:
The location is kind of boring... not a lot to do although Cherokee is not far away.
The chairs in the living room are not comfortable and you end up sliding down the entire time you're sitting in them.

      Relaxing Retreat

Left on 02/08/2011 for a stay in February 2011

This is a very clean, comfortable and cozy cabin. The hot tub with the waterfall next to it was very nice and the view is pretty. The cabin is nicely decorated and has lots of fun extras in the way of books, moovies, and games. It is very well stocked and feels like a home. The cookies, wine and biscotti that were provided were much appreciated as well. Tom and Sue are gracious hosts and made us feel welocme. It was a convenient distance from Catalochee ski area. We would come back again!

Wonderful House and Base for Exploring the area.

Left on 02/04/2011 for a stay in October 2010

We loved staying in this wonderfully welcoming and well appointed home. Sue and Tom could not have been more gracious in meeting us and showing us where everything was located in the home to the chocolate chip cookies, Starbucks coffee and biscotti they provided.
My 9 year old loved ending the evenings in the hot tub listening to the waterfall. The house is so comfortable and has everything you need. The location is great and close to many area attractions. After a busy day of sightseeing and doing things, Creek n Woods III was a great place to call home for a few days.

Perfect place to stay in Maggie Valley

Left on 02/02/2011 for a stay in April 2007

So glad we found this great cabin in the woods, on a beautiful hillside. It's a short drive to the Blue Ridge parkway, hiking trails to the west, and Waynesville to the east. We were able to get our fix of the outdoors and shopping. The Biltmore Estate was about a 40 minute drive. The cabin was very clean, well equipped, comfortable (the furniture wasn't worn out!!) The hot tub was a nice touch and we were even able to enjoy a meal outside on the porch. The Knapko's were very hospitable. This was definitely the nicest "cabin" we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in a lot over the years. We will definitely stay here again next time we are down in this area.
