The Honeymoon cabin is located in Maggie Valley, N.C. at an elevation of 3300 feet yet 3/4 of a mile from the valley. Beautiful walk to Maggie Valley. Living room, full kitchen and dining room, large covered deck with Hot Tub. All with Northern Exposure to enjoy the sunlight with the cool mountain breezes. Enjoy the beauty, privacy and serenity of the area with the sound of a rushing creek. Great place to fish and refresh yourself from the warm days of summer.
2 miles from tubing and the Famous Joey,s pancake house. 4 miles to Cataloochee ski lodge. Relax by the creek and enjoy roasting marshmallows by the fire pit.

We rented the Honeymoon Deluxe cabin from Madeleine and Mike for a second time to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We had previously stayed in this property in the summer of 2009, so we knew what we were getting. This is perhaps the cleanest property we have ever rented. The owners have high standards for their property and their guests and we appreciate that. There are no pets allowed here and no smoking in the cabin. This is a plus for us. The cabin is located conveniently to the major roads and is tucked away on a hillside so that one doesn't have the feeling of being close to town, even though it is. There is a hot tub on the deck, a jacuzzi in the master bath, a fireplace, well-equipped galley kitchen, television with cable, and wireless internet service. The only criticism I have is that the knives in the kitchen are dull (I bring my own now) and the wireless signal is weak. These are so minor to me as to not affect my rating, but I realize others may feel differently. The decor has little touches that make this seem like a home rather than a rental. Mike and Madeleine are responsive and respectful owners who take care of business and leave you alone if that is what you want. Older folks, the disabled, or families with small children may not find the Honeymoon Deluxe cabin appropriate as it is a two level cabin with stairs leading to the bedroom/loft area and full bath. However, check their website to look at other cabins Madeleine and Mike have available.
We hesitated to post this review, knowing that it may mean we could have difficulty booking our favorite place in the Smokies. But, we believe the Kenowski's deserve the positive mention and the the business it may bring. So, we wholeheartedly endorse Johnson Branch Cabins! We will definitely be back ourselves, many times. -

My husband and I just came back from a week long stay in the Johnson Branch Honeymoon Deluxe Cabin. I am a very picky traveler and was incredibly impressed by how spotlessly clean our cabin was upon our arrival. The cabin is perfectly located because it has a private peaceful serene view and yet is only minutes from the heart of Maggie Valley. The cabin is equipped with a full kitchen and washer/dryer, as well as a huge whirlpool tub in the bathroom, and a large jacuzzi on the deck. It was the perfect home base from which to do all the many activities available in NC. I highly recommend this cabin!

We had the pleasure of visiting the Kenowski's Honeymoon Cabin for the fifth time in October. As with all previous visits, we found the cabin to be spotless upon arrival with all the comforts one would want in a charming mountain cabin. From the kitchen appliances to the hot tub, everything is always in excellent working order. The cabin's location directly above Johnson Creek is one of the features that we have come to love and we often sit at the "private" picnic area they provide creekside. The cabin serves as a perfect home base for the many exciting day trips available in Western North Carolina. We have zip-lined over the Nantahala Gorge, gone white water rafting, horseback riding, hiking, visited the Cheroke Indian Reservation, etc. And the choices for dining are numerous, especially if you love great "southern" food and sweet tea. We can't wait for our eventual return trip to Maggie Valley and "our" Honeymoon Cabin.

Nothing short of perfect. It was very quite and a great location. Although there were others nearby so I did not feel unsafe at anytime, it was very private and relaxing.
