Listen to the bold creek from the hot tub spa on one of the cabin's two wrap - around decks. Cook your family's dinner in our gourmet kitchen and watch your favorite movie in the great room by the roaring fi...replace. Enjoy family fun in the game room playing pool, ping - pong, board games and outside fire ring. Open year round and minutes away from Cataloochee Ski Area and Cherokee Casino.

The 2500 SF vacation cabin comes fully equipped with linens (1 king in master bedroom, 2 queens in private bedrooms, 2 double futons bottom bunks with 2 twin top bunks and 1 queen sleeper sofa in large sleeping/TV room and 1 double futon in loft off of master bedroom), TV/VCR/DVD, satellite, games, phone service, and much more.

Autumn in the Smoky Mountains is a special time. Our guests spend much of their time exploring the many splendid natural wonders of the area. Located near the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains midway between Maggie Valley and Cherokee, the Walch Smoky Mountain Creekside Retreat is well situated as your "base camp" from which to plan your trips.

During the Summer months the creek bordering the entire property is a great place to hang out to cool off and get back to nature. During late Fall the leaves change from day to day. They change with the decreasing light, humidity and temperature. From your base camp, you can travel up in elevation to the Blue Ridge Parkway or down in elevation to see the leaves at their best. During the Winter months enjoy Tubing in town and skiing at Cataloochee ski area.

Sit down meals can be held in the dinning room which seats eight comfortably. The wrap around deck with it's many tables, chairs and gas grill allows for some great barbecuing while enjoying both mountain and creek views. Star gaze while toasting marshmallows around the campfire ring.

If you desire home cooked meals, the Walch Smoky Mountain Creekside Retreat's gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with all the utensils, plates, glassware, pots, pans and major appliances (extra large refrigerator and freezer with ice maker, gas-top stove, large electric oven and microwave, and dishwasher). Picture you and your guests, after a hard day's vacationing - with your cool drink in hand enjoying the hot tub while you overlook the scenic creek from the wrap around deck or lounge in the hammock listening to the natural sounds of the Smoky Mountains.

Reservation requires a 50% prepaid Rental Fee deposit made by credit card at the time of making the reservation.

Reservations for the month of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years week's will be the entire Rental Fee and are non-refundable made by credit card.

A $250 Security Deposit will be collected on each rental and will be returned 30 days after your arrival if the cabin is found in good condition.

Rental fee balance payments and Security Deposits must be received by us at least 30 days prior to your arrival.

There is a $50.00 processing fee for all cancellations and will be charged to your credit card.

  When planning our family vacation, we wanted three things: fun, relaxation, and quality time. Walch Log Cabins went above and beyond to make sure we got that, and then some! When we first arrived (After a 10 hour drive from Orlando), we were tired and ready to take a nap, but as soon as we laid our eyes on our new home for the week, we went from exhaustion to excitement! Their cabin was completely furnished with a flat screen TV (not that we watched much of it!), new, comfy couches, a large dining room table and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The main floor layout is perfect for entertaining, too. When I was cooking dinner in the kitchen for the family, I still felt as if I was part of the action with the people in the living room. Did I mention they had board games?! We didn't have to worry at all about staying entertained. Also, if you get sick of the board games, walk on down to the basement and enjoy hanging with the fam for hours with the ping pong and pool tables. Or, if your there for strictly relaxation, there is a brand Spankin' new hot tub! We didn't have to lift a finger to take the top off either, because you push a button and it comes off automatically, and there is about 10 seconds of heat up time- perfect for being in the snow.
  If you're a family traveling with a toddler (like we were), fear not! She was completely safe, talk about kid-friendly!
  All of the beds were far more comfortable than our bed at home (I long for the king size memory foam bed in the master bedroom (and jacuzzi tub!)

  What a marvelous property! The land is gorgeous with the rushing stream, mountains, trees, and trails. The house is huge and wonderfully appointed: Massive windows to see all of nature. Wrap-around porch where we had some great Bbqs. Lots of bedrooms located for great privacy. Have been there several times (even in the winter it's fun!) and it's now become a favorite place and a tradition.
