We had a fantastic time! The house was super clean and comfortable...location was great for our needs. The kitchen and other areas were well stocked and made it easy to prepare meals...truly a home away from home. We really loved sitting on the porch and having our meals outside to take in the mountain air. We brought our dog, Dixie, who enjoyed perching on the porch and watching the native wildlife from above, particularly the birds and squirrels. You lovely, precious cottage just suits us to a "T”. You have my taste, the pictures, plaques, art work, crosses, my favorite thing each morning was to wake up and discover something new on the walls or shelves. The English favlor is delightful. Our visit is a memorable one already. Ps: Great bed and pillows. We would definitely rent again!

Kissimmee, FLCozy mountain getaway with Florida friends!

This was absolutely the perfect vacation cottage for me driving up from Florida! The cute town of Maggie Valley set in the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding mountains set us up for a relaxing weekend away. It is secluded enough while having the necessities of town still easily accessible. The owners have clearly kept up this cottage--it was clean and comfortable. My favorite moments were waking up with the sunrise and sitting out on the porch with my orange juice, snuggling under a blanket to play board games at night, and exploring the town (including the best pancake place). I would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone that wants an enjoyable escape from the busyness of normal life.

Winston Salem, NCThe Perfect Escape!

What a wonderful cabin! A week before our reservation, we received a very thorough information packet that detailed check-in, details of our stay, local businesses etc. It was a great resource that we used all week! The cabin itself is so charming. Wonderful location in the golf course community. The perfect combination of secluded and right where you wanted to be. Private enough to feel like you were in the mountains but centrally located (we went skiing, shopping in Waynesville, each about 10 minutes away). My favorite place in the actual cabin was the back porch. Morning, noon and night, it was a great place to take in the scenery and be alone with your thoughts. Inside, it had everything you could ever want: wireless internet, full kitchen, comfortable bed, and a clean home! I plan on staying there again and again and have told so many friends about it!

Lake Mary, FlPeaceful and relaxing!

We were in need of a restful vacation, and that's exactly what we found. The cabin was absolutely beautiful, and had everything we needed. We were very comfortable during our stay. The property is wooded and private, yet was only a short drive to Waynesville, water falls and Gatlinburg. The nearby shops are very quaint. We enjoyed reading on the porch and watching the birds come and go. This is a great place to get away and relax. We will definitely come back to our favorite Shabby Chic Cabin.

There is nothing like Fall in the Mountains when the weather is perfect and Nature puts on a fabulous show. Staying at this lovely cottage was icing on the cake. Not only was the cottage clean and comfortable, but it had a lively open and cheery atmosphere which is seldom seen in a mountain "cabin". We were so centrally located between the locations we wished to visit and within minutes of the best local eateries. Thank you, Linda for a wonderful stay.

The location of the cabin is very easy to get to. It provides beautiful mountain views and is located in such a way that you feel centrally located yet private. The unit is very clean, all beds were comfortable and the decor charming. The kitchen is fully stocked with all appliances, dishes etc. The layout of the unit allows for multiple guests to share time together yet have their own space as well. The outdoor porch setting is spectacular. There are plenty of close by activities in Maggie Valley and surrounding areas. I had a wonderful stay amd look forward to another visit soon !

Central FloridaSpectacular winter mountain getaway
Left on 04/13/2011 for a stay in November 2010
My family and I had a wonderful time visiting Morningstar Cabin in November of last year. The weather couldn't have been better, and the facilities were top-notch! It was so comfortable and relaxing, and a great way to get away from the daily grind.
The owners have lavished the home with great attention to detail to ensure that everyone will have a great vacation. One end of the main sitting room is a reading nook with a few comfy chairs and space to relax, the other end has a flatscreen TV and computer for your teenagers who can't leave pop culture behind for their vacation. Everything was well-maintained beautifully decorated. We had a wonderful time and would recommend Morningstar Cabin to anyone looking for a place in the NC mountains.
