Located on a bluff at 4,500 feet in Maggie Valley, NC you will find Smokey Shadows Smokey Shadows is a historic home made of native stone and great hand-hewn logs from an old gristmill moved from the Cataloochee Valley. The long front porch has the most magnificent view in all of Maggie Valley. Well-worn rockers, wind chimes and hummingbird feeders give the porch a comfy feel, conducive to midday napping. The lodge is convenient to The Great Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Minutes from Cataloochee Ski, Cataloochee Ranch and Ghost Town in the Sky. A 10 minute drive down the valley to Maggie Valley Country Club for golfing, country shops and local eateries. We are located 40 minutes from Asheville, the airport and the Historic Biltmore. We are 20 minutes from Cherokee and Harrah's Casino. Many opportunities hiking trails, waterfalls, rafting and horseback riding are nearby.

If you are looking for somewhere to relax, Smokey Shadows is the place! We spent many afternoons enjoying the outstanding views and the cool mountain breezes from the back porch. While rustic in nature, the lodge is very well kept and clean. The hosts are very helpful and welcoming in every way. Best of all, the food is second to none! Even if you stay elsewhere, you need to ask when they are serving dinners to non-guests. It is well worth the visit!
