Our villa Les Trouloulous, situated in the South-East, allows you to discover easily the South and East of Mauritius. The sites and activities in the immediate vicinity of the villa are:-
The Blue Bay Marine Park…which invites you to swim with the tropical fish and to admire the magnificent coral in the best marine park of Mauritius.
Aigrettes Island Nature Reserve…where you can admire in liberty two species of birds saved from extinction by the Mauritius Wildlife Foundation:- the pink pigeon and the kestrel. Also the flora of the island is 100% endemic and very rare flora species are to be seen.
The Naval Museum of Mahebourg…is a show-case of the naval battle of Vieux Grand-Port where the Napoleonic forces won their only naval battle against the English. The visit is very informative as the museum is very well documented.
Ferney Nature Reserve….walk the trails of one of the last remaining indigenous forests.
Biscuiterie H.Rault….a biscuit factory dating from 1870 and still operated by the same family invites you to take a trip into the past. Sample the traditional tapioca biscuits.
Le Jardin de Beau-Vallon….enjoy a meal in one of the few intact colonial houses of the island.
