Formerly the Gamekeeper’s house and dating back several hundred years, Keeper's House is located in a secluded position within the castle grounds overlooking the weir pond, rich in wildlife and waterfowl. The house is approached along a private drive (shared with Weir Cottage) and has parking for two cars.

The house has been newly refurbished with antiques and modern furnishings combining to great effect throughout the property. Many original features remain and the kitchen boasts an Aga (as well as a conventional cooker). Equipped for 10 adults, providing sleeping accommodation in five bedrooms. There is a sofa bed and a cot and high...chair can be requested.

Downstairs: Entrance hall, kitchen/breakfast room, reception room, double bedroom with carved mahogany bed, cloakroom area and bathroom. Oak staircase to first floor.

First floor:Family room with kingsize mahogany sleigh bed, twin room and double room with an antique french walnut bed. Also on this floor is a second bathroom with shower and a separate WC. Steep stairs to;

Second floor: Large twin room.

Facilities include: Washing machine, dishwasher, Freeview TV, DVD, Aga, microwave, cot, highchair. Egyptian cotton bedding is supplied with duvets on the beds. Gas fired central heating throughout. Welcome pack of Gilchrist & Soames toiletries and some basic supplies to start you off. Outside seating area. Please note that the weir and pond are securely fenced and gated. Fishing permits available. Some mobile phone networks receive poor signal quality within the house. Weir Cottage (sleeps 2) can be let with this property.

Includes free year passes to Leeds Castle and grounds for unlimited access and use of Health Club, including swimming pool, at the nearby Ramada Hotel.

  What a find - great place for an extended family weekend away

  We stumbled across the Keeper's Cottage at Leeds Castle having scoured the internet looking for a very special weekend away for my son's 10th birthday. What a find! Very comfortable accommodation for two families plus grandparents in the grounds of Leeds Castle - we could wander around after the crowds had gone home. Very high quality self-catering, all linen and towels provided, plus tea and coffee, etc... The cottage (really a decent sized house) is tucked away in a corner of the grounds, so nice and peaceful (though not a direct view of the castle). Free entrance to the castle for a year for everyone plus free access to a local gym complex with swimming pool. The castle grounds are beautifully planted, there is a great children's playground and maze. Plus, the weekend is actually 3 nights long. One of the best self-catering houses we have ever stayed in.
