Villa Eugenia is an apartment of 120 square meters (approximately 1290 square feet) which sleeps seven persons. It has a porch and a terrace with a splendid view of the sea. The apartment is part of a villa that clings to the rocky cliff sheer above the sea. It is approximately 20 meters (65 feet) above the level of the sea. You will be able to reach the sea along a stairway of 88 steps, that leads to a small platform built on the rock, from which you will be able to enter the water.

Not far away there is an inlet with a small sandy beach, that expert swimmers will be able to reach.

The apartment has three bedrooms: the first bedr...oom has a double bed, the second bedroom has a double bed and a single bed, the third bedroom has two single beds. The house also has a large living room with two sofas, table, chairs, satellite television, a laptop PC with broadband HSDPA mobile Internet access and a kitchen. There are two bathrooms, both with a shower. The house is equipped with air conditioning.

All of the rooms have a direct access to the terrace sheer above the sea, which is partly shaded by a porch. From every room you will see only the sea, the sky and the profile of the Amalfi Coast .

From the kitchen you will be able to enter a small terrace equipped with deck chairs, table and chairs for your outdoor meals. The kitchen has a four-burner cooker, oven, refrigerator with freezer, washing machine.

The furnishing is simple and comfortable.

To reach Villa Eugenia you will have to descend along a stairway cut in the rock of approximately 245 steps. The access to the sea is shared with the guests of another villa.

This property is not a safe place for children younger than 12, because of a terrace with a low railings.

Public parking is available along the coastal road, but please note that parking spaces are scarce and that good driving skills are required to park a ca in a way that will not impede traffic. Bus service is available in the area.

A restaurant is at 400 meters (440 yards) from the villa, and a 700 meters (half a mile) you will find the closest beach.

Villa Eugenia is at approximately 2 km (1.2 miles) from the town of Maiori , where you will find shops and markets.

The small town of Maiori, famous for having one of the largest and most beautiful beaches of the coast of Amalfi , is of ancient origin. It was called Reginna Maior by the ancient Romans. Its history is bound to that of Amalfi, which is only 4 km (2.5 miles) away. The church of Santa Maria del Mare dominates the village with its beautiful dome decorated with majolica. Many historical buildings stand around the place, including the ancient defense towers, the most famous of which is the Torre Normanna, built in the IX century.

The weather is temperate all year round. The sky and the sea are bright and crystal clear, and the air is filled with the perfume of the area's famous lemon trees. You will be able to stroll along the gorgeous promenade along the sea and shop for ceramics, lemon liquor, lemon cakes, fashions and other products crafted by local artisans. You will taste delicious pizzas and fish in the characteristic restaurants along the seaside. Many cultural, musical and artistic happenings take place in Maiori during the year. Those who like go out at night will find that the Amalfi Coast has a lot to offer: from piano-bars to very exclusive night clubs.

  The amalfi Coast from Salerno to Sorrento is known as one of the most beautiful places on earth. And for those seeking to experience that million dollar view at a reasonable price I reccomend you consider the Villa Eugina managed by Summer in Italy. The view is stunning - from every room. The serenity and privacy are complete. The owners of the Villa were gracious,accomodating and only a phone call away. The people at Summer in Italy delivered as advertised. Any question, concerns were always answered promptly. We simply did not experience one bad minute in the two weeks we stayed there.
  
  The villa was very clean. The three bedrooms and the large livingroom/dining area all had the same stunning views. The covered veranda off the kitchen drew us (six adults) like a magnet. In the morning you can watch the local fisherman from Maiori as they sat in their little boats,casting for fresh squid. In the evening there was likely to be fireworks somewhere: Amalfi, Ravello, etc. All visibale from the veranda.
  
  However, all of this comes at a small price - those stairs. I am 64 and out of shape and I must say that It really was not that big of deal. No one in our group was under 50 and all thought it a minor problem. But, if you are physicaly challenged, or have small children it would be something to consider.
  
  The town of Maiori is a short walk from the Villa,\. We walked there everyday and took a cab ride back. Maiori is a beautiful little town.It is not a tourist trap. If you are respectful and try to speak a little Italian they are more than willing to try and accomodate you. The food is excellant of course and prices are reasonable. A town of 5,000 people with 5-10 bakeries - whats' not to love!! The food is great and reasonably priced. From Maiori it is only a boat ride, bus, or limo service away from any of the 12 towns that line the coast. Also to Capri. There is no need for a car and indeed no where to park one!
