Description from the owner
A centrally located, 2 bedroomed apartment in the town of Campillos, close to Antequera. The apartment is part of a small gated community with private access. Campillos is right in the centre of Inland Andalucia. Approximately 1 hour from both Malaga and Granada Airports. The highspeed AVE train station is less than 20 minutes away giving you access to all parts of Spain and Europe.
We are 15 minutes from the beautiful lakes, some of which are homes to migrating flamingoes during the summer months.
For those of you who like golf, we have a 5 star golf course 20 minutes away, and for the climbers or birdwatchers we are very clo...Read more

Montreal, CanadaOur Stay in Malaga, Andalusia
Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We stayed in this great apartment for 3 days and we were quite disappointed that we didn't stay longer! The apartment was even nicer than on the pictures and the location was great. You could easily travel to major cities like Granada, Seville, Malaga in about one hour or two by car. The apartment had more than what we needed and everything worked well. Debbie was very welcoming and extremely nice! She even recommended us a few site seeing and it was very much worth seeing! The manmade lakes were so beautiful! We absolutely loved our stay in Campillos and would highly recommend it! Stay for more than 3 days... it is really worth it! We are definitely gonna to come back to this lovely apartment!

We stayed there for 3 nights and the price that we payed was really a good deal. The apartment is in Campilllos so it is almost in center to where we wanted to visit. Granada is about 1.5 hours away, Gibraltar was 3.5 hours away and Malaga was 1 hour away.
Debbie was really helpful reminding us about the time constraint visit imposed on alhambra and tips of good local restaurants. We will definitely come back for longer stay to visit Seville, Cordoba, Malaga and Granda again. There were so much to do and see and we had so little time.Response from Mrs Deborah Gellvear - 06/24/2011

Hi Siti
Thanks for your review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your brief visit, and really look forward to seeing you again.
Things are really warming up here now and we are looking forward to being able to go and swim in the lakes.
Hope to see you soon, say hello to all the family for me.
Regards

London, UKGoing back when it's warmer
Left on 01/30/2011 for a stay in December 2010
We left a few days after a big snow storm hit London, and therefore were unsure if we'd make it out or not. Thankfully, we did, but we got delayed. By the time we picked up our car and drove out to Campillos it was nearly midnight, but Debbie very graciously welcomed us. The apartment was clean. The heating is not what you'd expect (coming from Canada), but I'm sure andalucia is not used to such cool temperatures!
We rented a car during our one week stay and travelled to the Donkey Sanctuary, Lobo Park & Antequera, Granada, Malaga, Tarifa, Ronda, Cordoba. We took a leisurely drive out to Seville, but we were staying there, so there was no need to rush back.
The morning sunrises over the mountains were spectacular! We're definitely thinking of going back, when it gets warmer!

Hi Michelle, so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. You were certainly lovely guests to have. You're right sometimes the cold weather can catch us out. A couple of weeks ago we had the opposite, 30 degrees!
As you have said in your reviews, plenty of places to visit. We went to the Sierra Nevada last week to watch the skiing. It was lovely.
We certainly hope to see you both again. -

We visited this accomodation in November, with a bit chilly start to the week ending with 18 -20c.We were met at the airport by the owner Debbie (She met us and took us back) Lovely lady, and the journey cost was very reasonable. The apartment was basic but comfortable. There is an excellent supermarket within 5 minutes walk, which is well stocked and plenty of eating places close by.As we had no car we used the buses to get around. We visited Ronda (well worth it ) about an hour on the bus (4.32 euros single). The views from the bridge, ( at the entrance to the old town ) were fantastic .Also went to antequera , about half an hour on bus (2.58 eruos -single) lots of shops and historic buildings there. Also there is a tour bus (a small electric one) which for 6 euros takes you all round the town and up in the hills and stops off at places so you can look.Should have taken 1 hr 10 minutes, but took nearly 2 hours. We also visited Lobo Park wolf sanctuary which is well worth a visit (9.50 euros each) Not easy to get to so Debbie took us at a reasonable charge.Campillos bus station is apx 10 minutes from apartment, outside of which is a tapas bar/cafe run by a lovely couple .You can also get on a bus from Campillos to the Santa ana train station which is a high speed train to places like Malaga, Seville, Madrid etc.(All the information for these is at the apartment). All in all a very enjoyable holiday.

Stayed here for a week although have visited the area before. Some Good local Restuarants and very handy for the train for visits to Ronda which you should not miss, also El Torcal which is just 20 minutes away with its fantastic rock formations just has to be seen and there is a wolf sanctuary while you are there which is very interesting particularly at feeding time. We have also visited in swam in the lakes which were beautiful and warm and other towns to visit are Olvera, and ther is a good drive through the mountain forest form Alsora to caratraca for the more adventurous, dont forget EL Chorro and ..........well just visit and enjoy, there loads to do and see and this is a great apartment to base your visit to the area at.

Cheltenham, UKPerfect place to explore Andalucia
Left on 04/22/2010 for a stay in June 2009
We came to stay for a long weekend last year and had a fantastic time. We were met by the owners who were really friendly and helpful and gave us loads of tips on where to go and what to do. The apartment is well decorated and very clean and bright. It is in an ideal location in the heart of Campillos, really close to lots of bars and restaurants and there is an excellent supermarket just over the road. There is also a well sized public swimming pool within walking distance so you can easily go and cool off if the sun gets to much for you.
Although you could easily spend your time just relaxing in Campillos we hired a car so we could make the most of the surrounding area and there is just so much to see we definitely need to come back! From here you can get to Antequera, Cordoba, Ronda, Granada and even Seville. But one place you have to go to is the lakes. They are just stunning and there are also bars and restaurants, places to hire pedalos and canoes and areas where you can bathe and swim - there is no need to go to the coast! If you come in June there are fields and fields of sunflowers which just add to the fantastic views.
I could go on but you need to come and see for yourself as there is so much to see and do. I would definitely recommend it and can't wait to return.

I´m a nature lover, but want my nice bed and accomodation. This place is perfect for that. It´s only 5 minutes from the Chorro Climbing Ranges and Lakes, and the village has easy access by bus and train to all the big cities of andalucia. The town itself is a modern town, but still with the charm of inland andalucia. The house itself is clean, very well looked after, and near to bars and supermarkets. It has air conditioning and heating, and the views are superb! I could look from my bedroom window into the mountains i was climbing that day! Will definitely come back.

Left on 04/17/2010 for a stay in February 2010
We came to Campillos to visit friends who found us this great appartment, which had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The owners greeted us and were very friendly and helpful. There is a great supermarket nearby which stocks everything. Little terrace via steps to sit out on sunny days. Plenty of bars and cafes nearby to choose from. We had a fabulous day out in nearby Ronda where there is lots to see including the famous bull ring! We had plenty of walks in an area of beautiful lakes, pine trees and had lunch at a cafe with breathtaking views!
We were told there was a golf course nearby, but as we don't play golf we can't give any feedback on it. Overall a lovely place to stay, as you get the feel of a real Spanish Town/village, and there is plenty to get out and see which is away from the usual tourist trail!
