Beautiful brand new house (finished in January 2012) in José Ignacio, the most hippie chic place to be in South America!
Very practical, modern and full of light. Ideal to rest and find peace!
The house is located in Santa Mónica, 25 km away from Punta del Este (South America's top resort town on the Atlantic Coast), 6 km away from José Ignacio’s lighthouse.
It is surrounded by the charming Lake José Ignacio, Lake of Pink Flamingos and what’s best, only 3 blocks to get to the beach.
The house is 55 m2 plus it has a deck of 25 m2 with barbecue and a garden of 450 m2.

It is located in an unique place in the world, famous worldwide for its long, solitary beaches and wonderful restaurants. José Ignacio village is located on a natural peninsula that juts out into the ocean with two sweeping beaches either side. Taking a walk down Mansa Beach in the early evening you are rewarded with some spectacular sunsets. During the summer months (December to March) people come from far afield to throw parties, enjoy carnival and see concerts in the lighthouse. This hidden gem of a village is most famous for its lighthouse, which shows just how cut off from the outer world you are here and as drawn the slogan that has made these beaches very popular: “Only the wind runs here”.

My boyfriend and good friend found Tacheles to be the perfect antidote from our native NYC. The house itself has a really nice flow. It is small, but enough space to lounge around, play cards and grill. We had a rental car for our stay, so the drive to nearby public beaches was quick. You could also take a long walk to closest beach. I thought that might be a downside, but the area of the house has it's own bucolic charm.
Santiago was very responsive to our inquiry and flexible with his time in meeting up with our loose plans. He met us near the house, drove us there and showed us around. He even invited us to join him and some of his friends for a nearby beach party.
I would definitely go back, and I found Jose Ignacio a lot more laid back and desirable than the more urban Punta del Este.Response from Santiago Casal - 10/30/2012

Lauren and her friends were fabulous. They treated the house as if it was their own and even more, leaving some gifts that still remain in Tacheles. They respected all the house rules and left the place clean and tidy. I would have them back anytime!

First of all, very comfortable and beautiful house located in a peaceful and nice place.
Nearby to Jose Ignacio village (5 kms) and only 3 blocks to get to the beach.
I recommend to visit Laguna Garzon and near the house, the Lake of Pink Flamingos.
The host, Santiago is a collaborative, attentive and helpful person.
