The unit is big enough to fit 2 families. The kitchen, sofa, bedrooms and bath are also spacious. However, if you have small kids, the setup of the unit is not so safe since it has a sunken living room (not safe to run around). Also, if you're bringing a lot of things to the unit (toys, food, clothes), you would have to carry them all the way up (40+ steep steps, 3rd floor) without elevators. This would not be a problem if you are all adults.
The building is old, so is the unit. It is clean but needs an update (rug, dim lighting, appliances). Overall it scored an average if you're not into luxury.

Pretty nice unit, good size with plenty of room for family of 4. A little dated and rough around the edges, but perfect if you're going to Mammoth to ski and not lounge around a 5 star hotel.
Numerous steps up from garage to the main building, and then up to the unit were a pain for loading/unloading, but not terrible.
Unit isn't on bus route, but a 1 minute walk over to Mountainback and there's a stop right there.
No wifi in the unit is a bummer, and internet access was very spotty. Cell reception for phone calls was also not great.
But overall a good unit for the price.
Very comfortable two double bedroom apartment

Really enjoyed our stay, great fireplace!
Good location to the slope, we headed out early to park easily.
