Description from the manager
Silver Bear is a great place to vacation. The project is located just steps away from Canyon Lodge for easy skiing access. Unit #28 is located in the upper building, top floor, nearest the slopes. There is garage parking for one car with elevator access. A second car MUST be parked outside. The living room has a gas fireplace and Southwest forest views allowing for afternoon sunshine. Orange, CAAwesome location, Needs major upgrades
Left on 03/06/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Loved the location of this condo. Gorgeous windows, tons of space, and walking distance to Canyon Lodge.
The owners really need to update the decor (can't figure out why they have sea shell decor in a mountain condo??) and the kitchen is not well stocked (lots of old/sticky condiments in the common pantry, very old pots/pans, etc.). The couches are so uncomfortable - we spent our time on the floor or the bar stools just to avoid the sofas.
When we arrived, the wifi wasn't working due to an unpaid bill. We called the office who called the owners and it was fixed right away, but it was rather strange to have to deal with!
The folks in the office were interesting. We arrived early and they said the condo wasn't yet ready, but they would call us when it was. Called back an hour later, and was told that it had been ready for the past hour. Very curious!
All in all, would love to stay here again due to the location and the size of the condo, but I will shop around a little more just to see if there are any other options up in that area. We did enjoy our time here, but the living room furniture was a major turn off. -

Lake Forest, CAVery roomy and great location!

It's very convenient to have the elevator in the garage. The condo is conveniently located near the town for summer or winter. Close to the lifts in winter! It was very clean. I didn't like that the master bedroom bathroom doesn't have its own door. You have to close the bedroom door to go to the bathroom. The other room also had squirrels living in the ceiling!!! Quite noisy at night.
The beds are comfortable and it's a very nice condo. Well taken care of. We had problems with the internet, but called the number and were able to use a different access.

Kitchen cook wear very old, dirty, and teflon flaking off...not sure I want teflon in my food!
Mattresses in the loft area saggy and sloping
Dishwasher soap dispenser does not stay closed so soap only effective in first pre-wash cycle

Hey Gina - I am so sorry you were not happy with a few things in Silver Bear 28. We do have maintenance available to fix the dishwasher soap dispenser. This is typically an easy fix. We appreciate knowing the pots and pans are in need of replacement. We will purchase new ones. In the future, please let us know when you have issues so we can take care of them for you. I hope you enjoyed your vacation.

Mammoth Premiere Reservations made it easy to rent. They were helpful and available.
The property Silver Bear was great. The common areas and barbeque area was great! For winter the location is perfect. For summer it is not near anything, but that was actually nice.
The layout of the condo was perfect. We had everything we needed. It is a little dated, but my kids were fascinated by the "old" clock (from the '80's), but everything worked. There is a blender, lots of pans, glasses, etc. We were so happy that we wanted to stay longer and we were there a week. The beds a re comfy and the showers were good.
We loved all the room and the windows best. Worst was the remotes did not work for the main TV and the master. We changed batteries, but that is okay we were not there for the TV. Oh and the pool is very small, we liked it, but the kids had hoped for more swimming. The WiFi is not secure which was an issue, but we worked around that too.
We will be back. The complex is perfect and the condo unit was all we needed!
Thanks! -

The condo's layout was perfect for our family and friends. There was lots of room for us to lounge, watch tv and play games. My only complaint was the kitchen...it is in serious need of remodeling and restocking...not a cheese grater, spatula or mixing bowl to be had.

Easy 4 minute walk to the lifts at Canyon Lodge and the town gondola, though a bit long and uphill of a walk for very young kids (5 and under). Great corner unit with a lot of space and big windows. Underground parking was priceless since it snowed most of the weekend and allowed us to get around town without digging the car out. The kitchen was adequately stocked and the beds and linens were comfortable. Nothing fancy and a bit worn around the edges but very clean and a great value for it's proximity to the slopes.

This condo was nicely decorated and more upscale then it looked int the photos, so we were pleasantly surprised. For the size, the price was good for the summer. The loft sleeps 4 comfortably, is separate enough and has it's own door to keep the kids happy, and quieter for the adults. We were grateful it was on the 3rd floor (has elevator) so we could keep the windows open. If the neighbors in another building complex across the way from the Master and Loft didn't have loud parties 2 out of the 4 nights we were there, it would have been perfect! Kitchen utensils and pans could stand to be replaced or upgraded.

The staff at Mammoth Premiere were great. We had a problem with the fireplace (pilot had been turned off)and got very quick response and repair.
Other problem we had was the overhead light in the living room did not work and without it the room was quite dark. Hope it's fixed by now but we got no repair during our stay (only Fri/Sat night). Housekeeping was a little slack -- i.e.used coffee ground in the coffeemaker but very good location to walk to Canyon Lodge and nice layout of the unit. We would stay there again. -

Overall nice place, and clean. TV's need to be upgraded. None of the remotes worked. Kitchen could be a little better equipped if you plan on cooking. Great location. I would stay there again.

Left on 03/12/2009 for a stay in March 2009
I was disappointed at how poorly stocked the kitchen was. I felt like I was in a bad garage sale. Also, the DVD didn't work, which is not great when everyone is sitting around ready to start a movie. Great layout and great location, though. The place is just a bit tired for how expensive it is.
