BrisbaneA Great Little apartment
Left on 11/08/2012 for a stay in October 2012
The service from the agent was efficient and friendly during both the check in and check out.
We stayed for 4 nights.
I chose this apartment because the bathroom is in the same floor as the bedroom.
There are 2 sets of stairs in the flat so you need to be able bodied.
Access to the apartment does involve some stairs along the footpath but it's not steep.
It's probably about a 10 minute walk from the shops.
The bedding & towels were of good quality and the bed comfortable. The flat was spotless.
The kitchen/sitting room is small but well equipped with cooking utensils but no cereal bowls. Some pepper & salt would have been helpful.
We didn't use the TV as all channels were Italian.
The view from the large terrace is as in the photo but you can see more of the village and vineyards
The terrace has some shelter so we could use it all day for meals, relaxing and to enjoy watching village life.
There are 2 small, but well-stocked, grocery shops in Manarola where we bought daily food supplies, including local wine, at very reasonable prices. Note that they close between 1pm and 5 pm. The Post Office also has limited hours.
There are several restaurants and we ate at 'Billy's'. The food was excellent but you do need to book even in October.
Unfortunately, the coastal tracks were closed due to mudslides the previous week but we walked on the hills and caught the train to the other towns.
We thought that Manarola is the best town to stay at as the tourist groups leave at about 4pm and you just have the village.
We definitely recommend a visit to Manarola, staying at the appartamento Gabbiano and booking with arbaspaa. -

It was a nice apartman near to the center and the port... only a few stairs :) The view from the terrace is marveolus, you can see the sea, port, village, hills and vineyards...(and the cemetery too, but it wasn't problem).
The badroom is OK, the bad is comfortable and you can take all of your luggage in he big cabinet. The bathroom is OK too, but a bit little. You can find every tools in the kitchen, what you need. But I think a microvawe would be useful too.
We rent a garage too, at the edge of the village, so my boyfriend wasn't nervous becaus of the car and the parking.
The owner is a friendly old lady. She can speak only Italyan. The staff of the arbaspaa is very helpful (except 1 girl :(...)
We liked to be in this apartman.
(I can say, that Cinqueterre isn't the cheapest place in the world...but very beatyful) -

We had a wonderful time in Manarola, the little apartment was up high in the village with a fantastic view from the large balcony. We overlooked the Port and ocean, it was an amazing sight to see the fishermen lower their boats from a great height into the water below. We swam, walked, dined in the lovely loal restaurants, we would go back again. It was very busy with tourists so would pick a less popular time to travel next time. Having said that we had no problems and the people we dealt with were very helpful.

The terrace with the views were amazing and made a great part of our holiday. The apartment is very comfortable and centrally located and, although the cupboards are a bit ricketing, I think the views certainly made up for any other faults (plastic glasses have been replaced with proper glasses). Staff at arbaspaa were very helpful. All in all, we had an excellent time and would highly recommend it.

Cinque Terre is a picturesque gem! All of the towns offer a little something different than the next. Very quaint and unique.
Our rental in Manarola was perfect. We were so lucky to have a huge patio with such amazing views! Having a large kitchen separate of the rest of the apartment was an added bonus. And the bed was surprisingly very comfortable. We stayed a lot of places and this bed was our most enjoyable.
be sure to pack light as the trek up the hills & several steps is a workout! But worth every step!!! -

Very helpful agent, easy to find office on main street when arriving by train.beautiful location however not for those looking for luxury.there were no wine glasses no kettle so had to use saucepan to boil water, only one bowl/dish.However appartment was clean, small shower but adequate. We lived on the balcony as the weather was excellent. The apartment could do with an update, but we would certainly recommend it if only for the position and the wonderful views!

We booked this apartment for the view after not being able to book at several places in other towns in Cinque Terre. We found Manarolo to be the most charming town of all. This apartment had great accommodations for the two of us. We thoroughly enjoyed the kitchen and the large balcony.

We liked everything. A nice appartment, with the most wonderful terrace and a fantastic view. We enjoyed it.
There were some problems with the kitchen, but we became some refoundation.
We found it strange that we had no new towels during the 7 night stay. So maybe the service could become better there.
We loved the small city when the day tourists had left, and the nice resturants, especielly with seafood!
So we recommend the place and the appartment! -

Left on 07/21/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We had a great time in Manarola and this apartment - or more specifically - where it was positioned was a huge part of the reason why. Admittedly, it is basic, however, the view is spectacular. Fully agree with other reviews saying the photos don't do it justice. We spent so much time chilling out on the balcony admiring the beautfiul views. It takes your breath away. The girls in the office were fantastic to deal with, particularly as our airline had lost our cases on the way over. They were so helpful.
A few minor things to note - there is no kettle, hairdryer or iron and the cupboards are a little rickety, but it was easy to get round those things. All in all, we had a great time and look back on our stay fondly. -

Left on 07/14/2011 for a stay in June 2011
The appartment was excellently located overlooking the swimming spot/boat launch with stunning views of the terraced vineyards and hills with a big deck area. The furniture was quite dated and the appartment was pretty small however it was still big enough to prepare a meal. The wine glasses were disposable plastic- we think that a small outlay for the purchase of glass glasses would be appropriate. The shower is very small so any larger than normal people need to be aware, my husband is 6 foot, 100kgs and only just squeezed through the door.

Left on 04/18/2011 for a stay in April 2011
We trawled Cinque Terre hotel info before we found appartamento Gabbiano ... and what a little gem it was. The photos don't do justice to the view: the large balcony is almost directly above the Manarola boat harbour so you not only get to see a slice of Manarola life, but there are also wonderful views along the Cinque Terre coastline. From the kitchen (which adjoins the balcony) you can't see the sea, but there are views of the terraced hill. The apartment is delightfully quiet - no street noise at all - yet is is literally within two or three minutes' walk of the town centre. Except for the 29 unavoidable steps, the walk to the centre is all along a pathway, so the access problems common in Cinque Terre are less of an issue here. The apartment itself is pretty basic but, when we compared what we had with what other friends staying in CT had, we realised that not only was the apartment relatively inexpensive but that it offered so much more than most others. We weren't too impressed with the plastic wine glasses, the ill-fitting old kitchen cupboards could do with some renovation, and the TV is old, small and without satellite ... but there were too many beautiful things to look at to bother with TV anyway. The kitchen has essential cooking equipment, and has a dining table with four chairs and also two more comfortable chairs. The bathroom has been renovated reasonably recently (note that if you're obese you won't fit through the shower screen door). All in all, this is a very good place to stay in what, we think, is the most natural and most untouristy of the five CT towns.

Left on 11/21/2009 for a stay in August 2009

Co Derrry, N Irelandone of the most spectacular areas of Italy I have ever visited.
Left on 09/27/2009 for a stay in September 2009
Our apartment Gabbiano was very comfortable and had a fantastic balcony with a wonderful view. The apartment itself was very basically furnished, could have been made a lot more comfortable with the addition of some extra sitting space in the living room. It was lovely sitting on the balcony but there is nowhere comfortable to sit when the weather is inclement.
The cutlery etc was adequate but again a few decent wine glasses and a few more utensils would have been acceptable. Apartments we have stayed in in other parts of Italy often provided hair dryers, washing machines and dishwashers and often provided basic food necessities.
The apartment was spotlessly clean and we had fresh sheets and towels during our two week stay. The lady downstairs - the owner? - was very helpful.
Arbaspaa staff were very helpful. I would definitely used Arbaspaa again and will be recommending the agency and the area to our friends. I hope my comments are helpful. A few basic additions would turn a nice apartment into a great one.

we were really pleased with all aspects of our rental, it's in a great position, clean and comfortable. the girls in the office were really friendly and helpful. the apartment was adequately appointed; it's best feature is the balcony overlooking the town and sea. It was well furnished with pool sytle chairs. The kitchen was satisfactory. After staying in apartments the length of Italy we found this apartment provided the least in terms of utensils etc. For example we had had washing machines, dish washers in far cheaper apartments. However these are just observations and did not detract from our stay.

Because of my mighty body, me myself had some difficulties in our flat, exspecially in the bathroom. On the other hand it is an very nice loacation for holidays, but thinking about prices allaround living is forbidden. In every place loosing money is possible. (even walking at the seaside.
