Casa Vacanze Fregagio
We stayed at the Casa Vacanze Fregagia in Manarola for 5 nights. We were 2 couples traveling together so we used both of the adjoining apartments in the Casa Vacanze Fregagia. Basic amenities, nothing fancy. We were prepared for the climb up to the apartment from the other reviewers, but it was so worth the effort. The 4 of us are all physically fit, it is not a destination for travelers with walking issues. The apartment consists of 2 separate adjoining rooms, perfect for 2 couples. One bedroom with bath and small kitchen with adjoining balcony and the other space was just a bedroom and bath with a balcony as well. Can be rented together or separately. The view from shared balcony was incredible. Unfortunately we were busy sightseeing so much we didn't enjoy the outdoor space at the apartment as much as we would have liked. The city of Manarola is the perfect choice in Cinque Terre, a few great restaurants, easy access to the train, quiet for sleeping at night and not too touristy. We took advantage of the incredible hiking trails, the highlight was the trek from Manarola up to Volastra and then down to Corniglia. A day I will never forget!! Can't wait to go back!!

We stayed at Casa Fregagia in June and had a very pleasant stay. Lots of steps as expected both up and then down to the apartment. Lucky we only had small cases! View was fabulous and it was wonderful watching life on the terraces opposite. Trattoria Dal Billy almost next door for a night out. Only downside is that if the end room is also rented and you have noisy people in there you would know about it, but otherwise no problem.

Stunning views of the Cinque Terre's best town.
We were more than happy with our stay in this room. Some minor hiccups as I'd written the address of the office wrong but the staff were all lovely and the room was in the perfect location, with lovely views and a great terrace. Manarola is quieter than the other towns with a nicer vibe, and we had a great view of the Easter lights on the hill. Billy's restaurant is also only a few steps from the room and provided the best seafood of our trip. It's a bit of a trek up the hill, but nothing too unmanageable. The room itself and bathroom were perfect.

Lovely view, good price, small room
For the price we could not complain about this room. The sliding doors in the room opened up to a lovely view of the water and city with a small patio to enjoy the sunsets. It was clean, secure and well maintained. The bedroom is very small but has good storage space. However we were never able to take a shower without lots of water leaking from the shower door. There was no towel service included so we used most of our towels cleaning up the floods. To get to the room one must climb quite a few stairs in the city of Manarola. We received no help in taking our baggage to the room. But once we were settled in we enjoyed the view and area where the room is located.
Wonderful view, shabby if functional apartment
If one is renting both bedrooms, a night table blocks passage between rooms and so one cannot close the door between the 2 rooms. The beds are reasonably comfortable for sleeping, the furniture a disparate set of leftovers, as one would find in a family cottage.
The best feature is the presence of a clothes washer. There are disparate dishes, pots and pans, but no bowls for cereal or soup. No scissors found, and ca jumble of mismatched cutlery. The cutlery was dirty. There are 2 badly scarred espresso pots, not fit for making decent coffee. The badly installed kitchen light hangs low
The bathrooms, while ostensibly "modern" are not particularly attractive. The shower has doors that both open with a touch and once can easily flood the floor. This is compounded by supposedly "modern" shower heads that take up much of the space in the shower. They are in the way, are useless and awkward. An overhead shower head and/or handheld would suffice. As it is, the awkward arrangement inveriably results in water flooding the floor.
There is a worn mirror and shelf surface with an army of small ants. Similarly, this army of ants was present in the 2nd bedroom. Most unpleasant, the bathroom had a distinct urine smell, indicative of inadequate cleaning. The light above the mirror was burnt out and inadequate. A bathroom waste bin, a basic necessity, would have been useful. Lastly, the bathroom, just off the kitchen was in an awkward location, ensuring a lack of privacy. Wether up this is an issue would depend on the guests.
There was an obvious unsolicited and unannounced entry by someone with keys during our stay. This is unacceptable.
The free wifi is provided via an outside router which provides a non-existent signal within the apartment.
The residence is unkempt with a jumble of furniture and objects just unkempt thrown together leftovers, without thought of practicalities or ergonomics. Read more

It took me a while to answer because if some statements are sharable others are at least bizarre, some are simply false.
We accept criticism if based on something real : for example the outside router now has been installed inside the House and the signal is full.
The shower door has been repaired but the position of the the bathroom, just beside the kitchen is common and do not means lack of privacy, except for neurotics.
The kitchen equippment is not made by disparate dishes, pots but a complete service for 4 people.Bowls are present.
"a night table blocks passage between rooms" : there are also 2 doors in between. We consider it privacy.
"Unsolicited entry" : changing towels and cleaning were required.
In another site this exquisite guest writes "There are various toxic cleaning products under sink for cleaners" : yes we provide soups for hands and utensils because we suppose people are used to wash it.Evidently this is not always true.
Sunsets, Sunsets and Fabulous Views!
We were in Italy to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We booked this property primarily for the private deck for sunset views and morning breakfasts. It was perfect! Exactly what we had seen in the photos. We drove to Manarola and arrived early, but was met promptly at the church by Stephano for check in. We were able to rent a garage for our car for an additional fee.
Because we were already at the top of the town, the walk up to our apartment was very easy.
The apartment was clean, well laid out and had everything we needed.
Loved the location as we had sweeping views of the town below, the sea and only a few doors down from one of the best restaurants in Cinque Terre, Billy's.
The staff we met at arbaspaa were friendly and accommodating.
Would highly recommend this property and look forward to a return visit to Manarola.
The view was amazing
We so enjoyed our stay at this cute little apartment. The one downside was the very unattractive entrance but once inside that was forgotten. The steps up we were aware do and coped with just fine. As our departure was before 7 am we elected to go down the longer way avoided the stairs with noisy luggage wheels.
The best was our view from bedroom, kitchen and terrace. Spectacular sunsets and such peace.
We had a stunning stay in cinque terre, the flat was great, nice view, cute rooms and very good beds wich is important when you walk all day long , good welcome from the agency and Manarola very quiet to stay there.
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
The location is great and so is the welcome we received. The service was excellent and we were glad that a representative was with us when we entered our future space because the room had not been cleaned. So, we had to wait an hour while it was pouring rain outside. I was happy also that my husband is very good with his hands, the shower head was broken and he fixed it. Water was coming out like a fountain to the ceiling. That is probably why the paint is chipped. Our neighbour asked us to open the outside closet in front of the entrance door so he could have the internet since the metal door was blocking the reception from where he was. Also, we could hear the cries of the young children who were staying next door and all the conversations of the family until 2:00 a.m. The main entrance door could not be closed from the outside. We had to go out from the patio door to make sure that the main door was closed. We did not bothered anyone to repair, fix or adjust because the lady was alone at the reception desk. We recommend this property for people who are in an excellent shape. I'm 100% sure that nobody complained because their stay is very short and they don't have time to report what goes wrong. Rest and relaxation was a thing of the past for the two of us.
Stunning view - highlight of entire Italy trip
Stunning view well worth the effort to get there with a 20kg suitcase.
Tip for next time: pack lighter
Clean. Friendly staff.
Beaut place to stay
Really nice place to stay. Balcony provided fantastic views. The only down side is that its not easy to find the office to get your key - but if you do your homework first you will locate it easily. I would recommend staying here.
Relaxation with a view
This is a great little apartment with a big patio/deck. It had a fabulous view of the Manarola and the sea. It was the perfect place to watch the sunset and enjoy Italy. It was a little bit of hike to get to it but everything is here.

Best spot in Manarolla
The units, shared by four people suited us beautifully - two ensuite bedrooms and a good sized kitchen with a washing machine made our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Added to this was a very good deck area where we were able to sit and eat and watch the marvellous sunsets. h
Having a line to dry clothes was an added bonus. The staff at arasbaa were most obliging and helped graciously in any questions we had.
The only negative was the steep walk up to the unit from the town centre as we were two senior couples but we did get use to this.
Gorgeous vista in the best location
I stayed here with 3 friends and we thoroughly enjoyed our week in Manarola. The apartment was small but the terrace/deck area was huge and we spent mistimed outside looking over the sea and the terraced gardens/village. The apartment was clean and basic amenities. Beds were comfortable.
The climb up the stairs and hill was challenging but well worth it o get away from the bust street below. The locals were very friendly and the local produce/ food was really wonderful. The access to other villages was easy and we enjoyed walking along the terrace track very much.
I would recommend this apartment and ana (manager) was very helpful and friendly.
Above the fray, and loving the view.
My husband and I went to Cinque Terre as part of our honeymoon, and we were not disappointed in the beauty of the location, or the charm of the people. The flat was a perfect respite from our daily adventures. The deck was lovely, and the service was great.
This apartment has a fabulous view, but that is where the positives start and finish. The instructions we received to find this apartment were not clear and the fellow who met us at arbaspaa when we finally arrived was not very helpful or friendly. My experience in this apartment is quite different to most of the other reviews I have read here, yes, the view is fabulous but we were very disappointed with almost everything else. The bathroom was quite dirty and there was no soap holder in the shower to store anything, bench space in general was in short supply. The fridge was rusty and the oven was dirty. The entry to the apartment is badly maintained and the apartment generally could do with quite a bit of maintenance work. We were also disappointed that there was no iron in the apartment even though there is a washing machine. We were told it is not normal to have an iron in an apartment, although it was the only one out of 4 we stayed at that didn't have an iron. We definitely would not stay here again and feel there are much better options available. It would certainly be better staying closer in as this apartment is not an easy walk into the village.

We'll definitely be back
After having read a lot of reviews about places in Manarola, we were not expecting much but Casa Vacanze Vergassola was high on our list of favorite rentals during our trip. This is not a luxury rental but what it lacks in amenities, it more than makes up for in the important areas. The view is incredible. I guess there are probably places in town where you could get a better view but I can't imagine it is much better. Being able to have the view out over the water as well as a full view of the town below made for a fascinating look at what life in the Cinque Terre is really like. The room is high (and I do mean high, not for you if you have trouble climbing) up on one side of the valley where Manarola sits and is well above the area where tourists generally go. This was great because it gets you out of that daily madness and into the quiet of the rest of town. It is also only about 3 or 4 doors down from Trattoria dal Billy where you simply must eat during your stay. The room itself was simple and functional. The air conditioning kept up with the heat as long as we closed the shutters and curtains while we were out for the day. The bathroom was actually quite spacious compared to other rentals we stayed in and there is a giant sink which made it easy for doing some travel laundry. If you are staying longer than a few days, I would recommend going for the apartment. It is where we plan to stay the next time we are in town.
My proposal was in this apartment!!!
I will remember this apartment for the rest of my life! I hope whoever that rents this out will have as much of good luck as we did. It was the most beautiful location, amazing view, clean apartment with brand new appliances in the bathroom, huge balcony, and great staff. Francesca was sooo helpful to my fiancé with preparing for the proposal and she was really nice. I would recommend this place without a doubt and we are definitely coming back to stay here again!
Charming, comfortable, clean, and scenic
The staff of arbaspaa were very friendly, easy-going, and helpful. They provided information about the area and recommendations. The apartment was a great break from a week of hotels. Four of us stayed, using both bedrooms and bathrooms. We were able to cook dinner in the kitchen one night and eat at the small dining table. We spent most of our other time at the table on the terrace enjoying the amazing views. Both rooms have Tv's and closet space. There is a restaurant a few doors down that has excellent and fresh seafood, although a little expensive. The only downside is that the showers were small, but that did not lower our overall opinion or enjoyment of the Casa Vacanze Vergassola. And yes, the path to and from the main restaurant/town area is steep and long but helps to work off the pasta and desserts. The path is also very safe and beautiful as well, even at night.
Favorite stay in Italy
The view from the room was amazing! It was definitely a hike up the hills and steps, but well worth it and the staff was very friendly and helpful in assisting us there. Great price for what we needed. Loved it!

2 Nights in Manarola
We stayed in an apartment. We were about 80 feet up. It was quite an effort to lug our luggage up this high. The View of the Mer Liria, was fantastic. The room was very adequate.
Lovely apartment, great location
We really enjoyed our time in Manarola in april 2012. There were 4 of us sharing the apartment and room. Weather was mixed so we could not spend as much time on the terrace enjoying the great views and atmosphere as we would have liked. Watch out for the gulls if you are eating on the terrace - they will pounce on any unattended food!
Staff in arbaspaa were great and so helpful, apartment and room were very nice, location is very good if you don't mind the steps (we didn't). Views were stunning.
We went for nice walks around the 5 towns, despite the weather, but it's a shame so many are still closed. Hopefully they will reopen soon. It was great to see Vernazza on the mend, but they still have a bit to go. We enjoyed all the towns and had a lovely day on the boat down to Portovenere.
I would recommend this apartment and the 5 terre location to anybody, but not suitable for buggies or the infirm.

Fantastic view, very comfortable apartment!
We love our stay. They view, of course, is spectacular, and the deck is a treasured memory. The local staff were very gracious and helpful. We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to come again.
La camera è tenuta bene con un balconino dal panorama stupendo!!
We loved our apartment. It was spotless clean, spacious and had all the amenities for a wonderful week long stay. We loved looking out from our terrace to the spectacular view of Manarola, the hillsides of this ancient town, and the Ligurian Sea. We will always remember and appreciate anna's help with our suitcases, her warmth, friendliness and genuine concern and caring that we enjoy our holiday at Casa Vergassola to the utmost. If we ever return to Cinque Terre, we hope to return to Casa Vergassola.
Perfect apartment in a gorgeous town
I stayed here with my mum and friends for five nights and we had a blast! The apartment had everything you need and the views were amazing! Opening the windows in the morning to see locals working out on the terraced hills was a great start to our days of exploring Manarola and the other towns of Cinque Terre. The gang at arbaspaa were fantastic and I would recommend booking your stay at Cinque Terre with them.
The appartment was beautiful, overlooking the village and the sea. But for those who do not walk well, the staircase to get to teh apartment is steep ! It was very clean, very well arranged, the terrace is gorgeous. A great stay and Cinque Terre is a must !
Amazing view, exactly what we were looking for.
Loved staying in the room with the amazing sea view! The breeze coming up from the sea was lovely and the room was exactly what we needed and wanted from a room rental. I do wish that more towels had been provided and additional toilet paper (we had to go buy our own) but the space was just right, it was quiet and the location in our favorite Cinque Terre town was perfect. I loved sitting out on the terrace with a little lunch that I got from the co-op in town. Check-in and check-out was extremely easy... they even helped us make a reservation at a restaurant that week. Would recommend this highly and would definitely stay here again.

After visiting the other towns in Cinque Terre, we are really glad that we stayed in Manarola. Manarola is quiet and beautiful with several good restaurants. The room is a simple, small, clean bedroom with bath; but you don't stay here for the room. You stay for the views! There is an attached balcony which looks out over the sea to the left and the terraced vineyards to the right. If you open the shades, you can look out at the sea from the bed. There is also a small table with two chairs on the balcony, where we had breakfast each morning. Check-in was super easy--just go to the office on main street, just a block from where you come out of the train station tunnel. The ladies who checked us in all spoke excellent English and were very helpful when we had any questions. If you stay here, bring small suitcases/backpacks that are easily transported up stairs. There are a lot of stairs to climb up to the room -- but so worth it! I rated "comfort" a 4 instead of a 5 only because (1) the balcony is shared with the apartment next door, so you have to be OK with strangers occasionally walking right by your bedroom windows, and (2) there is a hotpot provided, but no place to store cold foods. We would have liked to have had a small refrigerator. But those are minor points. We would definitely stay here again!
Unforgettable, Beautiful views
My husband and I stayed at Casa Vacanze Vergassola in a room with a terrace that overlooked the town of Manarola and the Ligurian Sea. The view was breath-taking. The room just fit a king-size bed, end tables, and built-n closets/shelves. There were French doors on two walls that look out to the sea. There was a small table and two chairs on the terrace where we could sit and enjoy the wonderful view. The room and bathroom were clean and neat. The agent from arbaspaa, Alise, was very helpful and accommodating. She met us in front of the church in town and walked us to our room You do have to carry your luggage up several steps and through alleys and then down some stairs to the room, but it was really not bad, but just be aware. If traveling by car you must park outside of the village in public parking.
Our favorite times of the day were early morning and late afternoon, when the daily tourists would leave and we had the place to ourselves.
Don't miss the vineyard walk above the village.
All in all a great experience!
We had a relaxing time in a perfect location, overlooking Manarola and the Mediterranean Sea.
Beautifull place , accomodation and professionalty
We stayed with another couple in the apartment and double room. Steep steps down to the front door of the apartment were difficult with luggage, steps down to the double room would have been a bit easier, if we had known. Best part of stay was the aarbaspaa Hiking and Wine Tour- excellent!
Immaculate apartment; great views from terrace; helpful staff.
Immaculate apartment; great views from terrace; helpful staff.
Beautiful view, but "check-in" was tough
The room was very small, no amenities (no refrigerator, no blowdrier, no other furniture besides the bed, TV not operating) but an amazing view so no real need to be in the room besides to sleep since there is a balcony. It was very clean and located only a few doors down to one of the best restaurants in Cinque Terre. Upon booking, I was under the impression that we were getting the apartment, not just a room with the bathroom. This was a huge disappointment for me and my husband when we arrived!
As well, we did not have all the information we needed when we arrived. The lady who checked us in was lovely but she really didn't have any information for us which left us a bit out of sorts upon our arrival. We drove into Manarola, she could not tell us where park since the one lot she knew was full. She said mostly everyone takes the train in and therefore she didn't have any information. She did not tell us that it would make more sense for us to drop our luggage at the church versus at the bottom of the hill by the rental office. She was unaware that there were actually functioning pay phones in the city and that there was wi-fi. She was also unsure as to whether or not the only grocery store in town was open. We needed water and items for breakfast but could get nothing because the store in town closes in the early afternoon. We asked her where we could do laundry and she pointed us to the next town over but could not supply us with a map to inform us where it was located. At the end of the day, we figured it all out for ourselves and had a lovely stay in Manarola and Cinque Terre however, it took us half a day to gather the info we needed, move the car to the appropriate lot, to find a store that was open and a place to do laundry a few towns over in Monterroso. Had the person who checked us had more of this information, we would not have wasted half a day figuring it out for ourselves and would have been able to enjoy the gorgeous town of Manarola.

It's hard to beat the view. My wife and I spent two sunsets on the deck with a bottle of local wine and created memories that will last a lifetime. The cost is very reasonable for what you get - a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, deck, etc. We particularly enjoyed the washing machine because a bottle of Montefalco Rosso that we purchased in assisi broke in my wife's suitcase. We were able to salvage many garments because of the washing machine right there in our suite. 120 Euro per night was a bargain. As a word of caution, if climbing hills and stairs is a struggle for you, then don't stay here (or anywhere in the Cinque Terre, really). My only complaint - and this is relatively minor - is that on the first night we killed a spider and a centipede in the suite. That's usually a bad sign, but we didn't see any more after that night.
But that deck! It looks exactly like it does in the picture! Oh, and go out to eat at Trattoria Billy right next door. It was easily the best restaurant we found during our stay, and their staff even helped us with late check-in!
The bedroom and bathroom were all we needed for busy day hikers. The view, however, was spectacular for our early morning coffe and fruit or our late afternoon glass of wine. Our being close to Billy's was an added bonus.

Climbing stairs! :)
The view from our spacious terrace was breathtaking, but if you are not used to climbing many steps this is not for you! However, it was worth the climb!! Accomocations and comfort were wonderful and anna from arbaspaa was so sweet and helpful. The shower door did leak and no one got around to fixing it, but things happen when you travel and it did not dampen our experience. Would love to return to 5terre but next time would be on a lower level. Love love the cinque!!!
Response from Arbaspaa - 06/04/2011
Thanks for your sincere review.
We have seen the problem to the shower door but the owner has decided to change it completely not to fix the old one.Unfortunately the new door could not be delivered within a couple of weeks.Unfortunately (or luckily) we are in a small village far from big malls and specialized shops.
Lovely view and deck, great service
Check in with arbaspaa was easy, very friendly people. It was a bit of a walk up to the flat, as well as quite a long walk from the parking area to the main 'street' of Manarola (don't bring heavy luggage, don't wear high heels!).
Flat is well appointed, comfortable, with plenty of space for 2 people. View from the deck was lovely, we ate breakfast and watched the sunset there every day. Shower was fantastic.
There is also an interesting view at night of the hills directly across from the flat. There are religious light installations, I think from a local artist, which light up at night.
We liked the restaurant Marina Piccola (or Piccola Marina?) down at the waterfront. The squid ink pasta is fantastic, as is the house wine.
Relaxing and Scenic Room
We stayed three nights in a clean room with breathtaking views of Manarola. The arbaspaa staff were very hospitable. The room had a wonderful balcony where we read and ate, watching the sun set over the water.

Great staff for handling request
Don't be disappointed with the higher location. It takes a hike up the hill with luggage in tow. So, pack light. The view is fantastic. The staff handled a problem for me without any hesitation in placing a call to my credit card company when I lost/miss placed it. Ana and Francesca was really great and pleasant to talk to. Their approach was really kind and sincere.
The only disappointment is that the room was not cleaned to my standards of cleanliness. Obviously, the cleaning staff never took a mop to the floor under the bed where we stored our luggage. The luggage came out from under the bed covered in dust. The bathroom tiled walls also need attention to cleaning. The fixtures such as toilet, sink and shower were clean. The linens were clean. However, the cleaning staff just took short cuts and only cleaned what was absolutely necessary. So, be sure to request that the cleaning staff do a thorough cleaning. Overall, I will stay here again. We already knew this rental from 4 years ago and loved it. I had a hard time finding the rental this time because it belonged to another owner. I sent a photo to arbaspaa and they quickly identified it as their rental. Overall, we had a fantastic stay for three nights. There is also an apartment next to the room. We were lucky both times not to have a neighbor. If the apartment is rented then the people must pass your room using the balcony to come through to their side. If you have the door open and are in bed or are on the balcony than I can imagine that this might be a problem for privacy. If the neighbor should be smokers than the room is downwind. As a side note; think twice about having a meal at "Da Billy" just down the street from the room. The attitude of this restaurant staff is deplorable. I would suggest you go down the hill and have a nice meal at Piccollo (a Rick Steves suggestion). Read more

I want to thanks the kind customer for the review but I need to stress that the apartment beside and the dbl.room have 2 different entrances.Nobody have to pass by the balcony in front of the bedroom.
Favourite Place in Italy
My husband and I went to Italy in august 2010 to attend our son's wedding outside of Florence. We were on a whirlwind tour of our own making in Italy, and our wind-up town was Manarola. It was a lovely place to relax after such a busy time. We enjoyed our place, and Hannah (sp?) who helped us carry our luggage up the hill was a wonderful engaging person who made us feel so at home. Wow, those hills were something, and I'm used to walking! After awhile, we were marching up and down a little easier, but it was still quite steep. It accounted for the beauty of the town as well. I could lie on my bed, head on my pillow and observe the sea. Beautiful. We enjoyed watching the farmers across the town so much, and I loved swimming in the Ligurian Sea. Not a shock to dive in at all! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place!
Die Dachterrasse ist ein Traum.
Abends bei einem (oder mehreren) Glas Wein dort
zu sitzen mit Blick ?ber das Dorf und das Meer.
Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter.
Vielen Dank !!!

Great location in Manarola
High up in the village, so be prepared for a hike. Once there, the accommodations were very nice. Terrace was a perfect place to end the day - fantastic views of the village and the sea. Best trattoria in Manarola was two doors down. Perfect amount of space for the two of us. Washing machine was a plus for the week we were there. Overall, a good home base for exploring Le Cinque Terre.

Room with a view!
Our room was gorgeous with views over the hills and seascape of Manarola. Beware the climb if you have lots of luggage though! The room had a comfy bed and a shower, although it was small and in need of some repair to stop the water spraying from the shower all over the floor.
We were thrilled there was tea/ coffee making facilities. A small bar fridge would have been very useful. Also beware of parking on the street if you are told you can, as you will get a ticket unless you are right up near the payed carpark. Overall, a lovely room in a beautiful location.
I loved the views. It was private and conviently located.

Great Location and Place to stay in Cinque Terre
We loved our 4 day stay in Manorola at the Casa Vacanze Vergassola. First of all arbaspaa was wonderful, Martina was so helpful in showing us our property and also in helping us with other vacation questions. The property was fantastic, just like in the photos. Views great, clean with working kitchen and washer. Our only complaint is that there was no shade available on the balcony, because of a broken shade umbrella. So we could not enjoy the hot afternoons on the balcony. Would stay again ( for a week or 2) if we knew they had some added sort of shade or umbrella.
A beautiful and wonderful lodging experience

The accommodations and service were superb!
The location of the villa, its amenities (air conditioned bedrooms, washer/dryer, full kitchen) and service provided by your staff enhanced our Cinque Terra experience in a significant way.
Scenic and peaceful
Simple quaint accomodations. Clean. Beautiful views from hilltop location and balcony visible through glass doors from bedroom.
A wonderful place,a perfect service, the seaview is overwhelming.
Best part of our Italian Vacation!!!
This quickly became our most cherished vacation spot! The room was clean and airy with a lovely terrace and large bathroom. Manarola is by far the most picturesque and quiet of the Cinque Terre Villages. We had an amazing stay and highly recommend this to anyone going to Italy.
We stayed in the room and loved the Casa Vergassola.
Its 5-8 minutes of climb (for non climbers) but location is picture perfect. It also had a perfect little sitting area.
The room was clean, with nice furniture, good bathroom and aC working. I would highly recommend this place and also Manarola village for staying. The Staff is also very friendly and helping.
One slight improvement point...the room also has a kettle, if staff can also provide, some tea bags, milk and sugar, it will be really helpful or at least they can write in their website and room also has a kettle.

Great location with all the comforts you need while travelling
This is great little apartment with lovely views over Manarola and the coast. The balcony is perfect for an afternoon glass or two after a hard day walking the trails. Then you can saunter up to Trattoria del Billi for a stunning seafood dinner - it's about 3 doors away and you'll love the place!. Good size bedroom and comfy bed (not always the case in Italy) Kitchen is well equipped and has ample space. Bathroom also good size, new fittings and good shower but the shower screen was a bit leaky (more a design fault than anything). We would thoroughly recommend Casa Vacanze Vergassola; it has everything you need for a relaxing stay in lovely Manarola. Special mention for Martina, our Arbaspaa rep - great customer service - very helpful thanks!
My 40th birthday
Greetings from Finland! I stayed a week in Manarola with my husband. An exellent place with absolutely beautiful view over Manarola. Casa Vacanze Vergassola fulfilled all the expectations.
Cosy, comfortable, clean, great view !!
We were made feel very welcome on our arrival. The accomodation was better than we expected. This appartment would be one of the best with a view that is amazing. The location is great and next to Da Billies restaurant which would be one of the best. in townThe staff of the appartments were very helpul and friendly and took time to forward book for us to the next location. The only thing I would suggest is to take light luggage as the steps are a killer. Our stay was a wonderful experience and I would definatley return. Thanks to all! What a wonderfual apartment and arbaspaa were just as wonderful. We called the number as soon as we arrived and a lovely lady met us and carried my bag all the way up to the apartment. The walk up was definetly challenging without any luggage but so well worth it. The view is amazing and its one of those places where you could leave your old life behind and start a new one.
As for the apartment it is just as described on their website and even better. Comfortable bed, excellent shower and very clean. Plenty of towels, pillows and blankets. It was cold whilst we were there and used the airconditioning but it did trip the switch a few times. But this wasnt a huge problem, we just flicked the switch.
Overall a wonderful experience from the time we booked to the time we left. Very happy and will defiently book with arbaspaa again.
The room was a little small and the hike to the room was steep, but wow the terrace with a view made up for it. We enjoyed a glass of wine every night out on the terrace watching the sunset. Manarola was a very picturesque town, it was our favorite.
Long walk to apartment but worth the view and room.
The service was good. We we're shown to our apartment by two charming women. Nice treat of champagne awaited us (and desperately needed after the walk!) Apartment was spacious and brand new. Functioning kitchen and great bathroom served our needs. Pull-out beds are as comfortable as one could expect. Extra blankets were appreciated and used.Would recommend a few additional pillows for those accustomed to higher/fluffier pillows of Canada. It's a long tough walk to apartment for some, particularly after multiple changes of trains and lots of lugging of luggage up/down stairs. A good sense of humour and patience is required. Perhaps this element should be more clearly articulated in advertising. But once you're there, the view is spectacular! Love the balcony. Sadly, the one day we were there, it rained but we made the best of it. Having Billy's restaurant a few steps away was great (and delicious).
Best: view, modern interior, suitably stocked kitchen, elevator option
Least: rather uncomfortable bed.

I will return to Manarola and stay at the same place in a heartb
Amazing view from the apartment.. a little trek up but absolutely worth it once you get up there..
Booking through Arbaspaa is highly recommended, they are flexible and friendly.
Best restaurant in town (Billy's) is right next door!
A little piece of heaven!
We booked a one bedroom apartment at this vacation home last spring and what a great choice that was! Arbaspa staff were very friendly and helpful, the apartment was spare but clean and got everything we needed. It was very quiet up there and the view from the bedroom and the terrace was spectacular! It's worth the hike up from the train station. Da Billy's, one of the best restaurants in Manarola is just steps away.
I would stay this apartment again and would not mind paying extra money for the bigger unit next door.

A Marvelous Apartment in Manarola
Our family of four (mom, dad, married kids) stayed
here in July 2009. We located the Arbaspaa office
and were immediately escorted to our apartment.
Our guide more than happily carried and pulled some
of our luggage, despite the heat! Once inside, we
were thrilled that everything was exactly as
pictured on the website. . .only better!! The view
was "to die for" and we spent many late afternoons
and evenings on the veranda, playing UNO, drinking
wine, and laughing! With Trattoria da Billy just
two doors away, we always were within a 30 second
walk of the best food in the town. A one-minute
walk in the other direction brought us to "Iotessa"
hand-weaving shop, where we purchased wonderful
shawls and dresses. Using the washing machine and
dishwasher were great. The apartment itself was
immaculate, with new bathroom fixtures, good water
pressure, excellent air conditioining. We felt
very secure with the extra locks on the doors and
windows (although there is NO crime!!). We could
have used a wash line to dry clothes, but we simply
draped them all over the veranda. We also might
have liked some extra pillows for the beds, but
that was really just minor. We made a pledge that
we will return here in a few years, so please save
room for us when we re-book Casa Vacanze
First of all, you will not spend much time in your room in Cinque Terre. The view from the patio is incredible and we loved sitting out and having a drink while watching the sun set or looking out at people working in their gardens. You earn that view though, since the apartment is near the top of the village and quite a hike up. The bedroom is compact - there's just enough space around the bed to get around, but the cupboards are big enough to hold your luggage and things. The windows allow for a great view right from the bed if you keep the curtains open. The bed is like every bed in Italy - hard. The shower was great - it was spa style with all sorts of different ways to set the water.
If you continue up the hill a bit past the apartment there's a really good restaurant down to your left. I can't remember what it was called, but the food was great and the owner and waiters were fun.
Manarola was by far my favorite village. Not too big or crowded, beautiful setting and harbor, very nicely kept. The whole area is out of a storybook.

We absolutely loved our experience in Cinque Terre in Casa Vacanze! The room was very private and had an excellent view overlooking Manarola and the ocean. We could not have asked for more. The room itself was very nice and the staff was very friendly and trustworthy. I would recommend this location to anyone visiting Cinque Terre. It was both affordable and nice :)
