Additional Location Information
Manarola is the second village of the Cinque Terre coming from the south. It is a picturesque historical village with pastel coloured houses, small streets and stairways and a little harbour for the fishermen's boats. Manarola has a railway station, which is reachable in only two minutes from the centre crossing a tunnel.
In the village there are groceries, which are open from Monday to Saturday from 7.30 a.m. till 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. till 7.30 p.m. In the high season they open also on Sunday morning.
Further there are a newspaper's shop, where also travel guides and maps are sold, a tabacco shop, a post office and several restaurants where the local pasta and seafood specialities are served, small bars. Manarola has also a boat's stop where the ferries stop which are running in the Cinque Terre between Portovenere and Monterosso (in the Summertime also to Levanto and Portofino). There are some beautiful places to swim on the rocky coast with comfortable stairways.
The sea invites because of its rich biodiversity and the mostly clear water to enjoy snorkelling tours. The most famous footpath of the Cinque Terre is the Via dell'Amore which connects Manarola with Riomaggiore, the first village of the Cinque Terre.
But there are many other very beautiful hiking paths starting from Manarola, which invites you to enjoy the beauty of the Cinque Terre by foot

Houston, TexasMediterraneo 2 ... Perfect!
Left on 04/26/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We loved our apartment in Manarola.
Mediterraneo 2 was fresh and clean, tastefully decorated and a had breathtaking view of the sea and village below, from our balcony. Both bedrooms/bathrooms provided the four of us with our own private space and the common areas were cozy and comfortable for all to share. Would definitely go back to the very same spot! -

AucklandGreat spot for an atmospheric holiday.
Left on 11/06/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We enjoyed staying at the apartment. Great spot overlooking the harbour so we could watch it progressively turn from a millpond into a washing machine as the weather deteriorated! The apartment was comfortable and the only downside was that with the rain, we had trouble getting our washing dry. Couldn't see a clothes horse for hanging it inside -something that would be useful.
Manarola and the other villages are very sweet and the train is excellent. The hills and steps were good for our fitness! We were disappointed that the coastal walkways were all closed and we really hope that the rockfall issues can be sorted as walking is the main reason many people visit the area. -

Melbourne, AustraliaAmazing!
Left on 11/06/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We stayed at Mediterraneo 2 in September this year and it was absolutely amazing! The apartment was great - it was very spacious and would be perfect for two couples or 4-5 friends. The apartment was fitted out with everything we needed, and had a great balcony with a fantastic view. On one side we looked up the hill to the terraces and colourful houses, and on the other side was an awesome view of the ocean. I could have sat out there for hours!
The apartment was located just above all the shops and restaurants, but as with all of the villages on the Cinque Terre it involved a small hike up the stairs to get back to the apartment. We had a lot of luggage and managed, and it was defintely worth it.
The company who manages the property were also very helpful and professional, and they had a spare garage which they allowed us to rent for our hire car.
I would definitely stay at Mediterraneo 2 again, and have been recommending it to friends since we got home! -

Montréal, CanadaBel appartement avec vue incroyable
Left on 10/02/2012 for a stay in August 2012

It was a small family reunion for my sister and I in Italy. We live far apart and Manarola gave us the opportunity to catch up in a very nice, warm and clean environment. We really enjoyed staying at the apartment that we shared with two couples and one child. The 2 seperate bedrooms and bathrooms gave us our privace. The apartment has a really fresh look, white and blue decor and up to date facilities. This overlooking the bay. A real gem in such a beautiful location.

Washington, DCGreat view, clean and pleasant apartment
Left on 08/01/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We stayed with our daughter and son-in-law at this two bedroom, two bath apartment for three nights. Everything was clean and pleasant, the a/c was very effective, and of course the area is spectacular. We loved sitting on the balcony and watching the comings and goings of the birds who had their nest there. The only thing we could have wished for (and did) was some instructions on operating the washing machine, which was quite unfamiliar. (Finally found one online, which speeded the washing process greatly!!)

Townsville, AustraliaSensational apartment with superb views
Left on 07/04/2012 for a stay in June 2012
The buildings in Manarola are old but beautiful and we were not sure of what to expect from our accommodation, but Mediterraneo 2 has been renovated internally by someone with design flair and an eye for detail. Fixtures and finishes were superb, and the little things, like temporary storage for travelers living out of suitcases, was well considered. We loved staying there.
The apartment is high, with sensational views over the harbour, but that means a climb of around 87 steps to reach the front door - it's worth it, and you certainly get used to steps when you visit Cinque Terra!
The apartment has everything, including 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, dishwasher, washing machine and free wi-fi.
We tried most of the restaurants in Manarola and enjoyed them all.
We recommend Mediterraneo 2. -

Alexandria, VALovely apartment, well furnished, immaculately clean! Views, vie
Left on 06/05/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Great apartment, beautifully furnished, immaculately cleaned. Views from the balcony were terrific. The apartment was very spacious - loved having two bathrooms for my husband and me plus two young adult daughters. Keep in mind that Cinque Terre is pretty much vertical...It's not for the physically challenged. There are lots of steps, so pack light. No cars are allowed in town, and there's a bit of hike from the parking lot outside of town. Did I say lots of steps -- and pack light? Having a washing machine was great! We ate out our three nights there. There are a number of fun, al fresco restaurants. If you're planning to dine in, you might want to bring some food along as the grocery shopping options are pretty limited.
