We are on the southern tip of Manasota Key and overlook the entire Gulf of Mexico. Lemon Bay is right behind us. This home is right next door to Florida's prized State Park, Stump Pass. Walk into the park for an unforgettable nature walk. Grab one of our kayaks and explore the mangroves behind the park. Enjoy the birds, dolphin and manatee sharing this tropical narrow waterway. Take our beach cruiser bikes to the restaurants up the road for some lunch or dinner. These amenity are all free and included with your rental. Providing everything you need for a fantastic unforgettable vacation!

Well, we're back in New York and the realities of winter. Woke up to 4-5 inches of snow this cloudy morning. It is beautiful, however, much different than opening the sliding door at The Highview to 80 degrees and sunny. We enjoyed our stay very much. You have thought of everything any guest would want. As the realtor said, "It's like your own resort."
Once again, thanks for helping to make our stay on Manasota Key very pleasant.

Our stay here was absolutely amazing! Home was immaculate and had every amenity that we could possibly need! We absolutely loved the home and the island. The overlook top-deck was phenomenal! The home was perfectly furnished and very tasteful and not cheaply done at all! All of the extras that were provided made this the perfect home on the island to rent! Bicycles, kayaks, more beach gear than a family could ever use...and the shell cleaning station was the best!
The island was extremely quiet and peaceful and the beach was never busy. We ventured down to the Stump Pass Preserve every day to walk trails and enjoy the beach. The few restaurants/bars on the island were wonderful and there was plenty of shopping nearby...including a super Walmart for those of you that rely heavily on those!
This home was perfect and we have decided we will be back every year at this time and we are going to have family rent the bottom portion, so we can all enjoy Thanksgiving together on Manasota Key! -

My husband and I have been vacationing on Manasota Key for many years and by far the Highview is nicest home we've rented in our price range. The home is super clean and the landscaping is beautiful and well maintained. The landlords provided plenty of extras that made our stay even more fun. We toured the Key on bikes in the morning, explored the intracoastal by kayak in the afternoon. And when we were all sunned out we enjoyed our cocktails and the sunset on the very cool third story observation deck. The home is a short walk to the beach and Stump Pass State Park where shells and fossils (shark teeth) are abundant for the beachcombers. As I said in the title we so enjoyed our stay in april 2011 that we rebooked for 2012 before we left. Can't wait to return to Manasota Key and The Highview. Pam Starnes Ingleside IL.

My husband and I enjoyed the use of kayaks and bikes and drinks at sunset on the roof.If you like clean, as we do, this place is immaculate! Quiet neighborhood and easy beach access. We met Pete and Mary Jo, the owners, who were very accomodating. Would love to come back. Nadja & Tim

Rented The Highview site unseen only through pictures and do pictures say a thousand words. The minute we arrived, it felt like home. The accommodations were as stated, the view was and is spectacular. If you just want to relax and enjoy the scenery, the Highview is the place. The first day we arrived, there was a message in my email welcoming me and my wife to the Highview. Later in the day a surprise came to us - will not say what the surprise was as it would ruin the surprise. When I was reserving The Highview, I asked if there was a coffee grinder, Peter replied that there was none but that there would be one when we got there. Guess what, there it was one the counter. Peter and Mary Jo are excellent hosts. The amenities around The Highview are excellent for a beach area. We stayed a month (March 2011). A definite destination to consider when planning your winter get away. One last item. There is a new restaurant called "The Flounders" which serves a real mean blackened grouper...deeelicious. Enjoy, c'est fantastique!!!

My husband and I took our two girls here for July 4th weekend and had the most amazing time. The house is incredible, the view spectacular. The bikes, outdoor grill and kayaks were a wonderful bonus that we took full advantage of. The view from the top deck was unreal and we we watched dolphins swimming at sunset. I would return here before ever consider hopping a flight to Hawaii - thank you so much! We will be back.
