      Excelente Departamento, ubicación y distribución.!

Left on 01/21/2013 for a stay in January 2013

Great location, good value for family accommodations

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in October 2012

This apartment is in a great location on the upper west side, within short walking distance to subway and lots of great restaurants. By the way, the Peruvian place on the corner (Pio Pio) is excellent!

We had 5 people in the apartment, including 2 kids and mother-in-law. With only one bathroom, for us it would have been a challenge with a larger group. The apartment is well equipped and clean. Our only complaint would be the street noise in the front bedroom, I really couldn't have imagined sleeping without ear plugs (bring them, it's New York City coupled with single pane windows :-).

Khris was very easy to deal with and very responsive. I had to get some work done during the visit so the wifi was very convenient. Overall, a good value for a family or group of friends traveling together. It's so nice to have a "home" to return to after a long day of sight seeing!

Thank you for the positive review. And I do plan on installing new windows in all of my apartments by the summer of 2013, mostly for the reduction in heat loss and A/C loss, but a reduction in street noise in the apartment will also be a benefit.

Great location for a visit tO New York City

Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in July 2012

We found this rental after having a reservation being cancelled by another company, so we were a little worried. Well we couldn't have found a better place to stay! It was a good value in an excellent location with great management. It is only 2 blocks west of Central Park and one block from a subway station. The area was not touristy at all being a residential neighborhood with shopping and good restaurants. The renovation was very well done and everything was in great shape. Kris was very nice and helpful. We arrived early which he handled well. I would definitely rent this unit again.

Perfect for families - privacy, comfort, location, affordability

Left on 04/11/2012 for a stay in April 2012

This was our first time using a vacation rental instead of a hotel so I was not sure what to expect and was a little uneasy about the whole thing. Luckily, the experience was exactly as it is portrayed in the listing and reviews from start to finish. We stayed in apartment 2d and enjoyed having enough space and privacy for all of us, two adults and three teens!

The apartment looks just like in the pictures. It is spacious, clean, comfortable and has almost everything you need to settle in. Beds and pillows are super comfy and the linens were clean and in good condition. The couch is easy to convert into a bed. There is an additional inflatable bed which we did not use but looks easy to inflate. The apartment is above a restaurant but you'd never know it - no food smells and very little street noise.

Khris was quick to reply to emails and his staff were helpful during our check-in and check out. We got in a little early and they let us store our bags in the office while we went to lunch. On check-out day they printed our boarding passes. Nice that we did not have to send a deposit ahead of time and that we got to see the apartment before paying. Great to have free wifi!

The neighborhood is residential - lots of restaurants, groceries, delis and other shops. Our teen girls liked the freedom to walk around on their own. Upper Central Park is just a few blocks away. The 1,2, and 3 subway lines are two blocks away and will get you anywhere in Manhattan quickly. Try the French coffee at Spices and Tease. Delicious. Get a smoothy or made-to-order fruit and veggie juice at TasteDiLite. Both on Broadway close to the subway.
      A few tips:
      - Browse through the apartment binder. It contains a ton of useful info about the apartment, neighborhood and city
      - the kitchen is super and has all necessary equipment but we needed to buy basics like coffee filters, salt and pepper and olive oil for light cooking.
      - the living room was a bit chilly at night however there are extra blankets in the sofa bed storage
      - the light/fan switches in the bedrooms seem to be on timers or perhaps we pressed the wrong buttons. Fans went on at night unexpectedly.
      - walls between the two bedrooms are a bit thin so we heard our girls giggling late into the night
      - white walls in bedrooms and bathroom could use a fresh coat of paint, not a deal breaker but something we all noticed
      - we discovered that we could not flag down a cab for 5 people so had to schedule a private car to take us to LaGuardia. It was only a 20 minute drive and $80 but worth the cost!

We definitely recommend this apartment and will consider staying here again!

      Perfect stay

Left on 02/28/2012 for a stay in May 2011

Stayed in apt 3C for 5 nights in May 2011 along with 2 friends. After looking at many properties online I found this one and Khris was very helpful with my enquiries & very prompt in responding. Upon arrival his staff member Micheal met me at the apt. & gave me a little tour of the neighbourhood. Felt very safe and there were many restaurants, shops in the vicinity. Subway was 1 block away and only 5 minutes to Times Sq. on the Express line. Central Park just a few blocks as away as well. Apt. was newly refurbished with modern applicances. Just be prepared for squeaky wooden floors, that was the only complaint but beyond anyone's control. I would definately recommend this apt. & would stay here again in the future. Also a reminder there is no elevator for those who do not like stairs.New York City was fabulous and i cannot wait to go back! Sorry it took me so long to write a review since my trip! For anyone taking the Super Shuttle from the airport to the property be prepared for a 3 hour journey with many stops along the way. Avoid the hassle & take a cab for the extra money it is worth it over 3 hours on a shuttle bus!

Thanks for the review Trish. I absolutely agree with her about the Super Shuttle. The cabs in NYC are actually quite affordable. If you are really tight on cash and coming in from Newark (EWR) or JFK, and if you don't have a lot of heavy luggage, and if there aren't that many of you, then the cheapest option is the subway/train/airtrain. But even then, it is so much more convenient and not a lot more money to take a cab. Coming and going from the airport is the only time you will have to take a cab, because once you are at 710 Amsterdam, everything is a short subway or walk away.

      Perfect

Left on 08/10/2011 for a stay in June 2011

Our family of four stayed in apartment 3C, owned and managed by Khris for 2 wonderful weeks in late June early July. We found the apartment on the internet and were taken by both the location which is close to Central Park and Broadway with excellent transport options, and the responsiveness of Khris to our various queries. The apartment was well appointed and clean. We found the bedrooms were very comfortable and our two children enjoyed the free wifi - teenagers and facebook...need I say more?
There is a Wholefoods supermarket nearby and numerous food options in amsterdam avenue. The neighbourhood was very friendly and we enjoyed strolling through Central Park, if you can do so in the early evening and watch the fireflies - magic!
We were most impressed by the service that Khris offered - he would respond to our queries immediately, and given the time difference between australia and NYC that is impressive. Corey met us at the door and ensured we were settled and provided an overview of the neighbourhood. When we left we forgot our jackets - Khris kindly offered to ship them to New Orleans.
Thank you for a wonderful visit to New York.

We stayed at the apartment with 5 people. In short: the apartment has everything you need. Comfortable beds, a nice bathroom, kitchen with everything you need, wifi, ...

It was the first time we rented an apartment. We did a long search on the internet, but it became rapidly clear that this one was the best value for money. The location and neighborhood are perfect. The subway is only one block away. There are shops and restaurants close by.

Khris was very friendly. He always gave a quick reply to our e-mails and he recommended a lot of restaurants and bars. If I go back to New York (more a certainty than a possibility), I would definitely stay at this place again.

Excellent First Experience with a Vacation Rental

Left on 10/23/2010 for a stay in September 2010

We hadn't ever tried a vacation rental before and this was a great experience. We had 5 in our party and I was glad to know this was only 1 flight of stairs up. We didn't have any trouble finding the location. Khris met us and showed us the apt and around the neighborhood and patiently waited while we all grabbed some quick groceries for the next morning. He gave us helpful hints about getting around and getting tickets for shows and it was nice to know we could have probably called and asked him anything! :-)
The apt was comfy and clean. It had pretty much anything we needed, including a wine bottle opener! The location was great; we felt safe and found our way around easily from this vantage point. The best part was that it saved us a lot of money compared to renting two hotel rooms for the same time! It was nice that we could all be together at night, to chat and snack.
We were all very happy with our stay and would highly recommend Khris and his apt.

After spending months online looking for a rental we finally found this apartment and it was a pleasant experience from contacting Kris about the apartment to checking out! We are a group of females from the UK, USa, and Sweden so it was important that we found a place that was affordable and accomidating. When we arrived at the apartment Kris was there waiting for us, he showed us the apartment, gave suggestions on where to go and even gave us a tour of the neighborhood! The location is great, right on amsterdam avenue, central park is nearby and the subway is half a block away. It is a very cozy place with comfortable beds, dining room, kitchen and bathroom. We didn't encounter any problems during our stay, we only wish that we could've stayed longer!! I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to avoid hotels and get out of the tourists traps and want to experience the real NYC!

      Best New York Experience !!!

Left on 08/23/2010 for a stay in May 2010

Staying at this apartment was like staying at a friends place! Forget ever staying in a hotel, I have stayed in a variety of places in NYC including the Plaza, but you can't beat the location of Khris's place on the Upper West Side, the neighborhood has the greatest restaurants, you can work it off by a nice jog in central park which is 2 blocks away, the fast subway stop is also 2 blocks away. If Time Square is your thing, it is 2 stops on the subway!!!
You just can't beat having 2 bdrms, a living rm/dining rm and a kitchen, location. The beds were sooo comfortable we had to set alarms to make sure we didn't sleep in, and having a place to have a quick breakfast from the market before heading out for the day was great. And also keep in mind you don't have all the noise of Time Square or Midtown, or a hotel for that matter, your neighbors are yearlong tenants. We started as 3 girlfriends, and a couple of days later were joined by 2 more, there was still plenty of space. Imagine what you would pay at a hotel in NYC that would accommodate 3-5 people comfortably! Now divide the cost of Khris's place by 5! More money to spend on food and shopping in NYC.
When we arrived Khris met us at the door, gave us a tour of the neighborhood, showed us where to get the best coffee, some groceries, took us to the subway & showed us the best routes to take, took us to the entrance to Central Park. But, it didn't stop there, Khris made himself available all the time, we would text him from where ever we were in the city and he would suggest places to eat, drink, listen to live music, and they were places the locals went. I am a totally foodie, and Khris was right on, we ate the greatest Peruvian (which happened to be on the same block as the apartment), amazing vietnamese, thai, pizza, gelato, seafood, you name it, Khris reccommended and it was fantastic.
Thanks Khris for making our girls trip so fantastic and memorable, we all want to come back soon!!

Left on 08/23/2010 for a stay in May 2010

We were looking for a place on the Upper West Side as kind of a "push off" location for easy access to the park, and then Uptown and Midtown and this fit the bill. The place is roomy (for NY standards) and we didn't feel like we were tripping over each other, which was nice. The location was perfect, near two grocery stores and very close to the park for morning runs. Kris was the perfect host, there when we needed him but definitely didn't hover. The front bedroom can be a little noisy, but it's on the 2nd floor and faces the street so it wasn't too surprising. Really, you can't do much better than this place.

Left on 06/24/2010 for a stay in June 2010

We were a group of 6 (two families) and couldn't believe how convenient the apartment was for the subway, restaurants, museums and markets. The apartment was very clean and comfortable. It was so nice to be able to relax after a long day of sightseeing and not be cramped in a hotel room. Khris was very helpful and allowed us to leave our luggage in the morning so that we could go to a matinee show, even though check-in was not supposed to be until 3PM. We loved being able to walk to the Natural History Museum (10 minutes) and Central Park. Getting all the way to Battery Park took only 20 minutes, and only about 10 minutes to Yankee Stadium. There were so many restaurants around the apartment that were very good. The area is a residential one without many tourists which was really nice. The kids (10, 11, 12) were able to see what it is like to live in NYC and everyone had a great time. We would definitely want to stay here again.

Khris was waiting there for our arrival even though it was later than most business hours, and the place looked even better than the pictures! Overall it was felt exactly like being at home as even the cabinets are stocked with complimentaries, the beds comfortable (it was hard to get my husband to leave the apartment to go out in the city most days!)and if necessary it would have been a suitable place to entertain clients for small meetings. The only thing that was not 100% perfect was my husband having to make this lazy woman walk up stairs every night. Call it my personal gym. =)
