The apartment is located in the East Village which is a trendy area of Manhattan and home to locals and tourists alike. We are a stones throw away from Soho and Broadway shopping.
The apartment has two queen size beds(which are very comfortable) and we can also add a daybed if needed. The hardwood floors and crown moulding give it a lovely appeal. The kitchen has stainless Steel appliances and granite countertops.

Sydney, AustraliaGreat location and perfect for our needs

The good
- location right in the heart of the East Village & within walking distance including buses, subway, cabs, food, restaurants, bars etc.
- no tourists & great neighborhood. Talk to the locals as they offered us lots of tips of things to do/see
- good kitchen, bathroom, TV, wifi
Room for improvement: I booked this apt on reviews who said owner Chris was a great guy & very helpful. I am sure he is but we didnt see him. The Check-In process was a confusing & I am really glad I called Chris enroute who told me he was in Boston and his neighbor would be there to greet us & let us in. She wasnt & told me I wasnt supposed to be there for another 2 hours. Not true as arrival time was well communicated and confirmed on our call. I was glad I had her details as it could have been really annoying waiting 2 hours for her to turn up.
Another suggestion would be to have info about the neighborhood & where to get a few basics (eg. Wholefoods, Clinton Bakery down the street, a good diner on East Houston for breakfast, Katz's deli, where to catch the bus/subway etc). If you havent been to NYC you might find it a bit daunting.
Lastly - this is a typical 1 bed NYC apartment (ie tiny) the 2nd bed is actually in the tiny living space/kitchen. I travelled with daughter & her boyfriend & luckily we are close but if you are travelling with someone else and like your privacy this apartment wont be for you - I would highly recommend putting up some sort of blind on sliding doors for privacy - we took a sheet of the bed & held in place with water bottles - we are close but still need some privacy.
Loved the proximity to Brooklyn - I recommend a walk over the Williamsburg bridge to Brooklyn (access from end of Clinton St) we had a fantastic day there & loved how easy it was to get around. You can even hire a bike for a day from the bike shop on Bedford ave just after you come off the Bridge & the locals are friendly & super cool. Would I stay again - absolutely!

ManchesterThanks Chris - You were a great help

We didn't actually stay at Chris's apartment as it wasn't available at the time of our stay - however...Chris really went out of his way to help us in a very sticky situation when the apartment we had booked (not with Chris) was cancelled at the very last minute, and I mean last minute. We had less than 24 hrs until our flight to NY with nowhere to stay.
With Chris's help we got our deposit back and found somewhere else to stay - And Chris didn't benefit from any of this and did it out of the kindness of his heart. I really do believe that Chris is a stand up guy and someone I would feel very comfortable doing business with in the future.
Anyway, like I said at the beginning we didn't stay at Chris's apartment but can assure you, if you book with Chris, you'll be doing business with an honest guy!! - Thanks again for your helpResponse from Chris - 09/22/2011

This was a great place to stay. We loved that we could find restaurants with different types of food around. The place is very nice. The kitchenette had everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable. We loved that we had wi fi and we could keep in touch with the family. Also, having a wash & dryer was very helpful.
Excellent location if you want to visit Soho, Greenwich, Financial District, Little Italy, Chinatown, etc.
Chris was on vacation but her stepdaughter was there to meet us and gave us tips and info we needed. -
