Lots of restaurants around, a quiet neighborhood, and you can reach most of the city attractions in a very few minutes using the subway, which is ONLY 1 BLOCK AWAY!!
You will reach the most amazing places of Manhattan in a few minutes! But at the end of the day, when your body do not respond, you can enjoy the tranquility of the neighborhood and recharge batteries for the next day.

We rented an apartment at 121 Fort George avenue from Valentine Rentals, similar to the one in the pictures (not exactly the same as they have more than one apartment in the same building).
The apartment is quite spacious with all of the amenities one could need, bathroom with bath/shower combo, modern furniture in separate bedroom, cable TV and free wireless internet, stove, fridge/freezer, fully equipped kitchen, etc.
The neighbourhood itself does not offer any major attractions within walking distance, but the nearest subway station is only a three minute walk from the apartment building and from there it is around 25 minutes to Times Square.
The neighbourhood is perhaps not the most beautiful I have ever seen, but we found it safe and the locals (mostly Domican) were friendly and helpful. We often walked home from the subway during the early hours of the morning and never encountered any problems.
As one struggles to find good value for money in New York City, this is a good option as one gets a big apartment at a very reasonable price for New York and with the subway so close it is very easy to explore the city from here. We enjoyed our stay here. -

El apartamento está completamente restaurado y tiene todas las comodidades para pasar una estadía excelente.
La ubicación es ideal, se encuentra en una zona muy tranquila de Manhattan (Washington Heights), a una cuadra del metro, que permite llegar a Times Square en 15 minutos.
Algunos puntos a destacar como la televisión con cable (y todos los canales activados), el baño, la limpieza y la decoración mejoran todavía más la experiencia.
Definitivamente es un lugar recomendable, y volveré a hospedarme ahí en mi próxima visita a NY.Response from Daniel T. - 09/16/2011

Excelente eleccion por poco dinero. Viajamos a NY con otro matrimonio amigo , y alquilamos dos departamentos en el mismo edificio Realmente ,mas de lo que esperamos al ver las fotos , muy limpio y confortable. Gracias a Sumaya por tu ayuda y estar siempre tan bien dispuesta ahhh!! Imperdible , comer en el Restourante Malecon de la esquina , hay que tener un poco de paciencia para conseguir lugar en la calle para estacionar , muy fácil usar el metro

Great place for the money. Clean, close to services and Metro. Very comfortable, good for working. When we arrived, everything was ready. Nothing to worry about. In addition, Sumayah took good care of us.
