You usually get what you pay for, but this time I think we got just a little more. The apartment was exactly like it looks in the pictures. Boge (pronounced Bo-gee) met us right when and where he said he would - no waiting around worrying about him not showing up. The place was in a great location to walk to the metro and many other cool places (ex: Highline Park, Chelsea Market...).
Thanks Boge!! -

My Partner and I went to NYC to run the NYC Marathon. Due to the storm Sandy everything got mixed up with flights, transport and the race. We contacted the manager who wrote back to say that our money would be reimbursed if we would decide not to come, since there was no electricity nor heating due to the storm. If we were planning to come anyway we would not pay for the nights that there was no electricity.
The location of the apartment was perfect. Walking distance to Time Square, bars, restaurants and clubs.
The apartment has everything needed including wifi. There was a kitchenette to cook, grocery stores were right there.
The place is basic but perfect when you visit NYC for a couple of days -

Generally clean except for moldy shower curtain. Good luck obtaining a consistent temperature in the shower. Be sure owner provides a second roll of bathroom tissue for when you run out. Boge's handwriting is illegible, so be sure you agree on price and understand what the Internet password is. Location is awesome. Community is quiet (for NYC). Grocery stores within 1 block! This apartment is very comfortable and is a tremendous value. It is a very secure building and there is an elevator. Laundry in basement requires purchase of $5 smart card in addition to paying for each wash and dry cycle (cash only). Computer provided is a slow Pentium 4 running Windows XP. We encountered no bugs in building. We were happy and would consider staying here again if ever back in New York City.

The apartment is what you see is what you get it's comfy. the little couch thing is not a place to sleep but a fold out foam thing that lays on the floor. bring washcloths for dishes. don't use the sponges because i used them to mop the shower pad and bathtub. Boge was an awesome friendly guy and I was really hoping to have a great time in this place but... it is right across for the chelsea projects so be prepared to be asked for cigeretts and a "spare dime "from people that hang out on the steps to the right of the apartment every freaking day. Now for the fun part..nyc itself is such an amazing place but this area is sketchy. these projects havent been there long and are getting worse. like three murders since november bad..my husband, myself and Three children stayed here we stayed for 5 days.. on the third day we couldnt get into the apartment because of all the cops surrounding the projects we waited until close to 11 pm at night to get in the place. it was a nightmare the hostility and language was unbearable. I wanted to leave that night! the next night we did leave. we threw our crap in a bag and bailed. There was a shooting right outside!!! A man bled to death on the sidewalk outside the window. The shots rang out and a woman was screaming!!! Oh my god, oh my god... Help help help they shot him. My youngest is 4 YRS old. No child should ever hear or see this!! I point blank asked boge again about the safety of the neighborhood (dare deny it, I also have the email) As we stood in the hallway. he assured me that it was a safe area.
here ya go..p,s they just had a stabbing.. nice quality place

Hundreds of guests stayed in this apt. and no one had ever questioned the safety of this area and the place. On the contrary this part of Chelsea is one of the most popular parts of town where tourist as well as New Yorkers feel the safest. Also, NYC is a Metropolis in which live more than 8 million people of all nations, all religions with different motives and goals in their lives. I'm sure you considered all this while choosing NYC for your family vacation. Also, I hope you realize that this kind of event can happen in any place and in any city in the world especially in NYC- the capitol of the world. I am sure that NYC Police Department did everything to maintain the safety and security of the area for as long as it was necessary All these questions and many more come to mind when people visit New York City and are surprised why does the sun shines here slightly different... Yet , many come to visit NYC and go back home in owe, .. wow.., what a great city this is, indeed like no other in the world...

After searching a place to stay in new york for it seems that this apartment has all you need.
all the amenities worked fine and Boge was cooperative and provide us all the information we needed.
The subway is very close as well as supermarket, restaurants, coffee shops, etc.
It is a little 1-room apartment (especially for a 5 persons) but has a great location and could be a good solution for families which are want to explore the city for most of the day. -

As a regular apartment renter, I know exactly what it is I am looking for
in a short stay vacation rental, A decent bed , clean, wifi, location close to subway, kitchen facilities, good price. This apartment had all of these things & 'Bogey' was very easygoing, helpful & human. I would & will definitely rent this place again & recommend it because it will meet the requirements of people who basically want a hotel room substitute.
I'd like to add that the extra bed came in useful when my brothers family came up on the last day to spend the day in New york. I Thank you again Bogey. -

This place was so much more than I expected. Great location. Easy to get anywhere with the subway one block away. Excellent amenities. Flat screen tv. with cable, computer with internet access, a.c.,laundry in the basement and very comfortable. And for the price, you can't beat it. Highly recommended. Will definitely come back.

My brother and I stayed here in October for 4 nights. The apartment is in a great location - a really interesting neighbourhood and close to so much. The check-in with Boge went smoothly and he was very friendly and helpful. The apartment has everything you need - it's compact but the photos show it well. The kitchen has all the basics you will need. If you do choose to self cater there is a Whole Foods a couple of blocks away that has great supplies. We thought the location was excellent with the subway only 2 blocks away. There is also plenty to see in close walking distance - lots of art galleries, the High Line Park and the Hudson River Park. The construction work another reviewer mentions is still going on - it just means you get started on your day in NYC early!
I hope I can stay here again in the future. -

Left on 11/02/2010 for a stay in October 2010
I stayed here for 10 days with a friend and really enjoyed it. The apartment was comfortable and clean and in a great location. It can be noisy on weekends (it is in the front across from a playground in large housing project that was party central Saturday night), but it was manageable and fine most of the time. There is a great, clean public swimming pool a few doors away that was a real perk. Boge was helpful and nice. I would definitely stay here again.

We booked online for a 4-day stay, and got the reservation after putting down our deposit via Paypal. We called "Bogey" on the way in from the airport to meet us at the place near 25th st and 9ave W in Chelsea, and he biked in just a few minutes after we arrived. Asking forgiveness for his strong Polish accent, he gave us the run-down of the apartment and the local area. He's chatty and knowledgeable of the area.
The place is a bit tight, but was perfect for our "base of operations" while touring NYC. Fridge kept our cheesecake cool, the microwave reheated leftovers fine, and the beds/pullout were adequately comfortable and absolutely bedbug free. Nice having a PC handy for browsing, but it took some work figuring out the wifi password from the router (make sure to ask).
We apparently missed out on some of the attractions of Chelsea (elevated part walkways? Where?), but it was conveniently close to a well-provisioned avenue (9th).
Only detraction from the place (besides being a bit small, but that's what we expected) is the construction going on just up the block. A bit noisy, but manageable.
Will definitely keep this property in mind next time we're in NYC! -

My husband, my three children and I found this apt. on Flipkey and decided to rent it. What a great place! close to everywhere, we walked Manhattan back and forth. apt. is very clean , has fresh linens, cooking utensils and most of all it was jus very peacfull and quiet. I was pleasently surprised that it could feel that safe and quiet in the middle of Manhattan. If you ever visit NYC, rent this apt.is well worth it.
