I stayed at this fantastic house with my wife and kids, we were pleasantly surprised and it became a home from home for us. I've stayed in NYC a few times, never in Harlem and although slightly further away from the hubbub downtown it had a lot fo charm and was no mreo than 15mins in a taxi or the same via subway. Pierre the owner was an excellent host, really attentive and communication was always easy. We would recommend staying here and like other reviews, it really is a great place. Big thanks to Pierre for taking greta care of us and being such a nice host.

Left on 04/26/2013 for a stay in January 2013
This is a great place to stay. We would gladly come back in this neighbourhood and in this house. We were a group of 6 friends in our early thirties, and we stayed for a week in this huge, very comfy, typical Harlem house.
The subway is indeed at the corner of the 126th street.
Pierre (the owner) answered all of our questions and requests.
Great restaurants around the house : the Red Rooster and Sylvia's.
A really great experience. -

Left on 04/24/2013 for a stay in March 2013
We rented this place for 5 people, and we had more space than expected.
Tipical huge Harlem house. Fully furnished kitchen, 3 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 3 toilets.
The location is quite convenient, 2 blocs away from Central Park, the subway station is at the corner, quick access to Broadway, Times Square, Downtown.
Lots of convenient stores around.
Landlord is cool and helpful. We arrived 1 day later than planned due to travel complications, and had to leave 1 day later. Pierre let us come and stay 1 day later even though other people were coming the same day. He took the time to arrange things with the cleaning lady etc.
Completely recommend the place. Trus Pierre !! -

GlasgowGreat house in safe and convenient Harlem location
Left on 04/14/2013 for a stay in April 2013
The house was exactly as pictured and described on Trip advisor. It was spacious, stylishly homely and with very comfortable seating and beds. The 125 Street underground station was one minute away and from there the express train took you to Times Square in around 20 minutes. We very much enjoyed staying in a New York neighbourhood - and a friendly, interesting one at that - rather than tourist central. Local restaurants and bars looked buzzy but as we were mostly veggie/vegan and had a child with us we couldn't really take advantage of them.
An unexpected bonus was the apartment's outdoor space - the kitchen/diner led out onto a terrace sitting area with access also to a downstairs garden. Although the early april weather was unseasonally cold, we did sit outside in the sunshine a few mornings watching and listening to Harlem's birdlife - red cardinals included.
We would thoroughly recommend the house and Harlem. -

Left on 12/11/2012 for a stay in December 2012
We were joined by two other couples in this spacious 3 bedroom tri-level brownstone in Central Harlem. It is neat with a lot of charm. The subway, food, entertainment and groceries were within a five to ten minute walk. The landlord, Pierre, is great! He was quite responsive to our requests and helpful in pointing out activities around the area. Agree with the other viewers, you really need to check out this location. Safe, excellent value; will definitely stay here again.

Victoria, CanadaGreat Apt for our large group
Left on 10/03/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We were 6 girls travelling to New York without our husbands and kids and stayed at this great apt. It had the space we wanted and 3 bathrooms which for 6 girls was important. The apt was clean, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was really well equipped. An added bonus was the small deck and garden. Pierre was very good to deal with, prompt in his replies and responsive to any of our requests. The apt was in the south part of Harlem, near Central Park and was in a very lively neighborhood. Very good restauants a half block away, groceries and the metro 5 minute walk. We felt safe even when we came home late in the evening. For large groups this is a terrific choice.

Left on 06/02/2012 for a stay in May 2012
This townhouse was very convenient, spacious, and safe. The price was very reasonable for the offering - 3 bedrooms/3 baths, balcony, full kitchen, nice living room. It was simply, but sufficiently furnished, bedrooms were very spacious. Located in Harlem, we weren't sure about the area initially - but this is very convenient to the 125th street subway stop, several well-known restaurants (Sylvia's/Red Rooster), a CVS for basic supplies, and northern Central Park. Easy to get downtown and to all the major tourist sights! Pierre was helpful and accommodating. Would stay there again on a NYC trip.

Left on 04/10/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Pierre is on the ball and very accommodating. He gets back to you quickly with answers to your questions and information to help out with your trip. He and his sister, Joanne, greeted us on arrival...had we been able to stay longer, I wouldn't mind spending some time (or drinking a glass of wine) with them!
The apartment is wonderful. Old brownstone character, very spacious (none of this "New York shoebox apartment") with modern renos in the interior. Beautiful garden area in the back, large kitchen where we gathered every morning for tea and coffee and to plan the day and every room is filled with books...a homey feel, something to inspire or to distract (if you need it!)
We were happy to stay in in Harlem. We took in jazz at the Lenox Lounge (where Billy Holiday sang in the Zebra Room), salsa and trombone at the Red Rooster (as well as amazing food and service) and then late-night eats and drinks at the Lenox Social...which will soon be changing its name, according to www.harlembespoke.blogspot.ca. Very close to two subway stations, easy to get around.
Comfy beds, clean apartment and all of the amenities you need. -

Left on 04/03/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We (a group of 5 friends from Brisbane and Sydney) stayed in this lovely brownstone for one fabulous week in March and we can't wait to go back. After hearing how small some NYC apartments can be, we were amazed at how huge this place is! It is spacious, beautifully decorated and very well maintained. Pierre was great - he was so easy to deal with and was happy to give us tips and answer all of our questions. The subway is just around the corner and will get you to Times Square in about 15 minutes (if you take the 2 or 3 express). Harlem is different to home for sure - but we found it to be welcoming, safe and full of character. A great experience!

Left on 11/22/2011 for a stay in November 2011
We had 6 people stay very comfortably. It's difficult to find an apt in NYC with three bathrooms and a bed/room for everyone. You're only a 3 minute walk to the subway (2,3 red line) giving you instant access to the upper west side, theater district, and lower Manhattan. Quiet, clean, and safe neighborhood.

Left on 11/01/2011 for a stay in October 2011
Two friends and I spent nearly two weeks in this gorgeous brownstone house in Harlem. The neighbourhood was brilliant - friendly, safe, and with everything one needs close by.
The amenities in the house are wonderful - everything we needed and more, and Pierre was so helpful and friendly...to the point where, when he asked if there was anything we needed and we mentioned an iPod dock and full length mirrors would be nice - he arrived back with speakers immediately, and two full length mirrors first thing the next morning!!
The house has the added bonus of a jacuzzi (nice after walking all over NYC), and a lovely balcony off the living area overlooking the secluded back garden (and the friendly resident squirrels), which was perfect for breakfast. There is a bbq available as well, but there are so many great restaurants close by (eg Sylvia's, Chez Lucienne) that we never used it!
Next trip to NYC we'll be back to stay here for sure...thanks Pierre for sharing your gorgeous house with us!

We loved the apartment which allowed six of us our own space and also really enjoyed the neighborhood which has so much character. Pierre is a great host and everything we needed was provided. The metro around the corner takes you to any of the districts of ny in no time.

YorkSpacious, comfortable apartment
Left on 09/29/2011 for a stay in September 2011
This comfortable, spacious apartment is about ten minutes walk to the north of Central Park in a quiet street in Harlem. By subway - station is 200 yards from the apartment - it's just 15 minutes to Times Square, 34th Street and Macy's. As a base for visiting the sights of New York it's in a great location. The apartment on three floors was perfect for our family of four with three double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The owner, Pierre, was very helpful providing local information and was happy for us to leave our bags in the apartment after checking out and before catching our overnight flight home.

We loved our stay in this stylish comfortable appartment. All of the home comforts we had been missing since travelling for a couple of months. Superb location and the subway around the corner. The kitchen was fully stocked and Pierre was so welcoming and generous in sharing his appartment. I would definitely recommend this appartment to friends and family and would stay there again next time we are in New york !!

Left on 02/07/2011 for a stay in October 2010
Right from first contact till the time the services was excellent. The very personal touch administered by Pierre made all the difference. The accommodation itself is beautiful and well maintained. Situated in a vibrant part of Harlem you experience real New York folk and the subway (practically on the corner) meant traveling around was simple. There are plenty of shops and supermarkets nearby so you can pick up what you need with ease and there are some good (and famous) places to eat within walking distance.
We were a group of 6 adults and a young child and we felt safe, secure and happy! There was ample space and everything you need in terms of utensils etc is provided. There is no TV and to be honest, this was a blessing as the apartment lends itself to socializing with each other rather than sitting in front of a box - and this from me a TV addict. We had a fab time - so much so we are trying to plan another trip so we can stay in "our NY Brownstone"!! I have already recommended this place to anyone and everyone I know who is going to NY. -

Left on 09/30/2010 for a stay in September 2010
This brownstone is nestled in the heart of Harlem and was truly a pleasure to come 'home' to each day that we stayed. It was bright and airy, yet extremely quiet and cozy. Furnished comfortably, it provided us with everything the 6 of us needed for the duration of our stay. We were thankful for the a/C throughout! The patio off the rear kitchen area was our favorite place to congregate either in the mornings or late in the evening upon our arrival from a full day of exploring the city. We felt completely safe and secure in this home and would certainly recommend it to friends and visit it again ourselves. It is indeed close to all amenities and the subway to downtown. Pierre also was a most welcoming host with whom we enjoyed visiting and learning about the local culture of the area. Definite thumbs up, eh!!
