Completely renovated home in the village of South Baymouth on Manitoulin Island, Ontario...a small village where the ferry links visitors to the Bruce Peninsula and Southern Ontario. Enjoy the unique small village amenities (stores, marina, ferry, laundromat, gift shops, restaurants, museum) in a quiet setting right in the village (extensive nature trails, fire pit in your own backyard, 250' to access private beach on South Bay with 200' + of beach that's all yours!). Watch the largest passenger ferry on the Great Lakes come and go fro...m our private beach, walk our villages extensive and beautiful nature trails within a short walking distance from your cottage, visit our museum which has a "one room" schoolhouse and a display on the history of our village and area, or tour Manitoulin Island with biking lanes, driving tours, many towns and villages, Native culture, or just relax. Fully equipped home (furniture, appliances, linens, dishes, BBQ, sat TV, games, DVD's, electric heat, large cedar deck with patio furniture, canoe, bicycles)...just bring yourself and your food! Manitoulin Island, the largest fresh water island in the world, also has extensive sightseeing and activities for visitors while displaying that unique atmosphere of no "city life," and lots of lakes, forests, and nature. Complimentary pick up services to and from ferry terminal in South Baymouth for short/weekend stays. 3 bedrooms (1 queen, 1 double, 2 twins); also 2 pull out couches in living room, fully equipped kitchen, 1 full bath with shower plus 2 pc. bath upstairs. Large deck with patio set for outdoor dining or relaxing. Indoor and outdoor games supplied. Cottage comes with complimentary outdoor games, canoe, and bicycles. Beach has chairs, dock, and fire pit. Weekly rate at $900 for up to 4-5 persons (extra if more); daily and weekend rate per night at $175 for up to 4 - 5 persons (extra if more). Spring and Fall rentals at reduced rates. Located on Third Street within the village of South Baymouth. South Baymouth is the ferry terminal to and from the Bruce Peninsula, and located on Manitoulin Island, the largest freshwater island in the world. Our village offers museum, gift shops, restaurants, extensive hiking trails, biking lanes, the ferry Chi Cheemaun, a marina and small northern village life. The cottage has a private beach (stone) with shallow entry and crystal clear water for fishing, water activities, swimming in summer, dock, chairs and fire pit. Manitoulin has Native culture, lots to do and visit, and is a great example of nature in the "near north."

  I was one of the first to rent this cottage a couple of years ago. I took may adult kids and my 3 grandchildren. It was spotless and had every convenience required to enjoy a great holiday. At nights we would have a campfire in the back yard. During the day we would drive to a beautiful beach, about 15 minutes away (well worth the drive).
  The beach had facilities for changing and had washrooms. A small store was nearby to get snacks for the kids. The water was clean. The sand bottom was nice and firm.
  The owners were very pleasant and went over everything with us.
  The deck went across the front and along the side, so you could have either sun or shade at any time of the day.
  We are planning to return this year.
  By the way, it is really worth it to take the Chee Chee Mon, across the water, rather than drive all the way around. The kids loved the boat.
